My opinion MY!! - to fast music, no sense of rhythm, without sensuality... more work that you need. This is dance for begginers... But 3 years gone so im sure that now u r much better :D Don't give up and any way u can be proud !! Brave girl congr. :)
not to be rude, and in MY OPINION. it was pretty boring.you really arnt getting into it like most girls do. theres really two types of pole dancing. theres pole dancing when your just throwing yourself over a pole and twirling around it (stripper) and theres the actual dance. Pole dancing can be passionate and beautiful if theres a lot of heart soul and skills put into it. you have skills, but your grace and flexibility needs work. Just work on it.
Well done you! Pole dancing is tough, even tougher with an audience and nearly impossible when you are competing, particularly in an arena like this. You must have felt so vulnerable stuck in the middle of big venue like this with spotlights it looked more like an interrogation than competition! Congratulations. Just taking part made you a winner, even better that you got placed.
Aww....you guys are mean and just jealous cause you can't even pull off half those tricks! She's got guns to get up and perform infront of people. You go girl!
in effort this girl delivers........ and the musik is indeed fast paced but there R far worse ones presented over Utube that is closer if not in reality "noise polution" ..... that kan kill one's better senses
the promoters should have come upp with a far better stage 4 Xhibiting the ArTWorK ......... little of which they would B so lucky to find in HK...... 4 real !!
I take my hat off to symone, it can't have been easy and although I enjoyed the technicality of the routine i thought it sorely lacking in performance quality and finish. I hope symone you are now performing/competing in heels and using the musicality of a song. I wish you all the best with you're competing etc and hope to see more of your work :D
Don't listen tot he detractors, luv. C'mon girls, you sound like a bunch of cats! MEOWW!!!--- & sorry, 3 weeks does NOT do the trick. The idea is to make dance art look easy, not BE easy. ..& the music, altho not my favorite pic, is very challenging to build a routine to.. which this artist did.
these are purely gymnastics poses. NOT meant for strip clubs. The Carmen remix is good but could have made a better choice in music or a better remix of this song.
I thought that it was pretty good. You obviously can do some good tricks and are pretty strong. I think that with just a better son, it would have been great. Don't listen to the haters, good job
and here is mine. few things you should work on. pick better music. move a little bit slower and each move you hit, stick! you do it so fast it looks like you almost dont even have the move very well. ditch the lame spiny tricks those are boring. and finally, your ending- awesome move to end on not easy to accomplish, however if you're gonna do it perfect it. you should be like a half flag pole when you do it. not sitting up-right.
ok there is nothing sexy passionat or artsy in this. is she just showing the moves she knows? cz thats how it feels. if you cant feel the music the urge the rythme you can never dance. yes, you might know the rutine, the moves and practicly you can stand on your head if you want but it aint gona be dancing and aint gona be enjoyble to watch... sorry ..but its true
Hmm, so I could have come in 2nd in a competition and I've only been doing it for 4 months ... just about every move done in this video I've done on my home pole and then some...
i used to think pole dancing was only a sensual thing made for the pleasures of others (if you get what i mean) but after seeing a few of these videos i recognize it as an acual artform, a talent, olympian even. It requires physical strength, actual dance skills and true all-around skill. great routine, maybe someday ill look into trying lessons for fun!
it was a great routine as i'm a pole dancer but only use it as a fitness.. the moves that were put into the routine require alot of strengh.. beacause the young lady makes it looks effortless DOES NOT mean it's a rubbish routine.. pole dancing is NOT an easy thing to learn and you do not learn the moves over night.. the lady is showing her skill, class, and cordination ... NOT PERFORMING IN SPEARMINT RHINO STRIPPING!!!!.. WELL DONE TO YOU KEEP IT GOING GIRL!!
well I personally think that pole dancing would be harder than it looks. She does sum great moves....i mean, REALLY complex. She does lack grace though. pointed toes as ur going into moves don't go unmissed and a lil choreography or composure between moves would finish this routine off nicely :D
Actually dopezttina, your comment shows you know very little about sport. Pole dancing is not necesserally for strippers only. It's becoming a sport that more and more women, from all classes and jobs, do to become strong and gracefull. So please, do not compare all pole dancers and strippers, and certainly not pole dancers and whores.
There was nothing, what so ever, that was suggestive or provocative about this performance. She did an awesome job and clearly you've never taken part in this awesome sport. Don't talk until you've done what she's done and had the balls to go in front of everyone like that and win second place.
I am not sure what they were judging on, but here are my thoughts. :) Your routine was much more advanced as far as your pole work was concerned. However, it seemed like I was just watching acrobatics, not a dance. I believe that is why the placing was awarded as it was. I believe if you had more dance aspects transitioned between the pole work, you would have certainly won. That aside, your pole work was well done and I look forward to checking your work out more. :)
I think you should have won - the technical difficulty in your routine far outweighed the other girls - although she had lovely flare and a sense of style - your routine was simply more impressive! I bet a lot of people were shocked when you did not win! However, i am myself entering a pole comp in August - New Zealands first amateur non nude comp - and i will take on board the other comments that people have put on your page cos i think similar things may apply to me - anyway you are awesome
Well I appreciate you thinking that I should have won and yes many people were shocked to find out I came in 2nd place. GOOD LUCK with your comp. you must be very excited. If yo can post up your video and send me a link.
Symone I am just now seeing this routine and I think it's fab, 2 minutes just doesn't feel lik enough time, does it? I think you were fabulous, I have favorited this vid as I love the way you did your iguanna similiar to mine butI have a hard time transitioning into it.
Actually first of all thinks for the comments, I have enjoyed watching your vids too especially how bubbly you are when going in coming out of a move.
s for the song it is one of mine but since the comp only allowed us to dance for 2 mins, I had to edit and take out the best 2 mins in my opinion, not easy on a 7 minute song.
Congrats on 2nd place. I'm a (Hustle) dancer & teacher I've seen lots of performances. Here's my feedback to add to what "mom2raiandjas" wrote. Work on your flexibility so you can do full splits; otherwise the move will look tight & unfinished. Your moves were harder , especially the final move, but not as artistically connected to the music as the winner. In fact, there's no real connection (except 1 pose) between your moves & the music and any song could've been used with it.
Cont.: Your movements should flow with the music and you need to make the pole an extension of yourself. I love "Carmina Burana", but the song makes it feel like you're doing an aerobic exhibition. I'd like to see you hold the poses a little longer to show strength & control. I'd like to see you do all the moves that you did while in a handstand (from 0:35 to 0:44) instead completely on the pole. In fact, I'd like to see you touch the ground less and stay on the pole more. Good job, though!
I watched your video, and the one of the winner. I am a professional dancer of another style (not exotic) and I would like to offer constructive criticism to you. I think that you have very good technical skill (being able to hold difficult poses, etc.) but you need to work more on presentation and the "dance" part of it all. Try to keep "dancing" even during the stunts. Also try to hit key points and beats in the music. The other dancer "hit" her poses on dramatic beats and points in the music.
Continued: I think that you need to choreograph your routines more, so that you are striking/hitting your poses during strong places in the music, just as a ballet or jazz dancer would. Make every movement an event. The other dancer had small hand movements, facial expressions, and more that really polished her performance. You did a wonderful job, you really did, but if you can add the small details like this to your work, YOU will be a first place winner.
Continued: In this music, for instance, you have the strong high percussive sound that sounds like "snaps" throughout the song in places. It would look really good to do a pose on the pole, and have your foot changes/kicks hitting right on time with those snappy sounds...and from this video they were not. When you are standing and you do your arm extensions at the beginning, the arms should be extending out on the "snappy" beats as well. So, just work more on moving more with the music/beat!
i was gna say, i saw her performance and then saw yours, and even tho i'm personally from mainland china i would have said you were far, far better, but after reading what mom2raiandjas said i now understand why you didn't come first... still, you were AMAZING <3 i loved the ending position; you rocked! congrats for being called back to do your routine again, and i'm sure you'll win next time! best of luck!!! xxx
that was incredible, please do be VERY proud of yourself!! i wonder when the usa will catch up with you guys, alot of this country still looks at it as a stripper thing not a sport, you do it soo beautifully congratulations!!
Thank you so much for your kind words. It's funny that you say that about us here in HK because we seem to think that you guys are way ahead of us but I do see your point.
hi symone! I'm so, so happy to see you came second, that's brilliant! having seen both videos I think you actually should have come first - you definitely will next time.
