  • where can i get a hamer phantom in spain?

  • @BertoKing

These are old guitars, u will only find them used.

  • can I have your van halen signature?

  • @PickThe6Strings

    which one?

  • @johnnybeane the one at 4:14, the frankenstrat

  • @PickThe6Strings

    That's my main axe.

  • I just picked up a sweet 98 Phantom Custom that has had the neck pickup swapped out for a P90. The switching on mine is as such. The three-way switch acts as a traditional les paul type switch, neck, neck/bridge, bridge. The other switch is a two way that kicks the middle single coil on whenever the neck pickup is engaged.

  • @gmanluto nice man!

i haven't played one of the newer ones - 1998 model. i remember when they came out though. thanks 4 the info!!

  • It was Glenn Tipton from Judas Priest that played these guitars (and still does), but Iron Maiden is close enough:p I read alot of reviews about this guitar, and almost everyone say that these are the best there is. I hope I get my own one day, they are rare and hard to come across!

  • yeah i know it was Glenn Tipton. he's gotta be the most recognized dude to play one of these. i love my phantoms! my white one which u don't see in this video was my main guitar 12 years ago. now a black one is my main one but since the white one is back in action it may take it's place! the one u want is more the heavy metal version with the 6 in line pegs. those came in wild colors and hi tech whammy bars - at the time - 1985.

  • Yes If you have seen the Judas Priest - Hell bent for leather video live in Texas 86, you see Glenn rocking the crap out of that wammybar at the beguinning and it still does not go out of tune at all. Another good reason for me to buy one! + Insane sound! But glenn has modified his Phantoms over the years.

Now he has EMG81 pickups in them, witch I'm not a very big fan of. But back in the day he used simular if not the same kind of pickups you got. + other Phantom models with 1 and 2 humbuckers.

  • yeah i dig the original pickup combo like what i have in mine. thats what makes it unique. can't get these tones out of other guitars.

  • i agree they are pretty rare and not a lot of guitarists know about them or have played them. i get comments all the time at shows about mine. also people think it has a tripple coil humbucker, it's not, it's a hum and a single both in one ring. but it looks cool and when wired right sounds great! it's a great axe for dirty and clean sounds. when u get yours u gotta post a video of it for us to enjoy!

  • I agree! It is a very cool combination with the pickups! I will post videos of it if I get lucky enough to buy one. Not too many videos of these cool guitars on youtube!

  • i know!

i love these guitars and am always looking for photos and videos of them.

  • you have... THREE Phantom guitars?!!! Did you buy them off Ebay? I want one too, but with the banana shaped headstock. How is the neck shape on these guitars compared to a gibson 50's neck Les Paul and a 60's neck Les Paul?

    Cool vid and awsome guitars!!

  • thank you! got em years ago b4 ebay was born. the 6 inline's were later models. like what the guy from iron maiden played.

these are like the ones andy summers from the police played. i love the neck! can't compare em to gibsons because i don't have a gibson to compare em to. id have to say that these are my favorite guitar! they look weird and sound great!
