  • Nice layout of the catch wrestling moves.

  • 8 people who disliked are one dementional grapplers lol jk

i actaully got to see jake shannon and billy robinson come out to where i train and they did some filming for damage control. it was awsome. also jake shannon came to our gym and tought gave us like a 30 min seminar.

    it was cool.

  • @kenseisato1989 LOL... yeah... they weren't paying attention to my description (this is back when I was just LEVEL ONE and still learning the very basics)... I still have a LONG way to go, but it impresses me how much can be covered in a short amount of time while training with these guys.

  • @yoshiofdeath

its so true, catch is so simple and brutal. so strait to the point! just from being exposed to catch wrestling it's uped not only my grappling game but mma as well. billy robinson blows my mind away.

so what level are you know? are you still keeping up with your bjj as well?

  • @kenseisato1989: yeah, Billy is a WIZARD. I hit Level 2 last January and will be going back for Level 3 this Summer. I was going back this January, but an old rib injury was re-aggravated recently, and there's no way I can hang for that this soon. Yep. I still do BJJ once per-week/4 to 5 hours per-day. The biggest blast, for me, is combining the two as I need to---that's a fun challenge by itself.

  • @yoshiofdeath

lol i know his like YODA!! lol and jake shannon is like mace windu lol. congradulations on level 2. yea it sucks when you injure something :(

yea man its such a mind blowing experiance when you conbine catch with bjj iv'e never taken a catch class but my caoch brought so much good stuff from going to billy robinson's semminar 2wice.

the best thing i learned from catch is the catch mentality(never in training though)

i hope you have a speedy recovery :)

  • What does Level 1 mean? What test did you have to pass? Is this the stuff you need to master for level 2?

  • @MrHarryFabian it's Scientifc Wrestling's ranking method (3 levels: 1 for basics; 2 for coaching; 3 for competition). It's really mastery over the BASICS though. In CACC, you never stop learning, so there is no real mastery, per se'. Quoting Billy Robinson: "you never stop learning.. I'M still learning..."

  • @MrHarryFabian Level1 initial test is over the history of CACC (which is damned interesting); Level2 and 3 are on-the-spot... while you're training and assisting others.. your performance IS the test...

  • @MrHarryFabian and I passed Level2, January, but I'm waiting about 9 months or 1 year before I go back for Level3. I'm more interested in teaching than competing, personally.

  • Good stuff. Thanks for sharing!

  • you should change the name to something relating to mma not wrestling,

  • nah... this isn't MMA (no strikes or kicks in this vid comp)... it's not wrestling in the sense of Greco-Roman or Folkstyle or Freestyle... it's Catch-as-Catch-Can Wrestling.

  • Excellent video. The written descriptions of the moves is really good. More catch wrestling guys need to do this type of video.

  • @funkybjorn11 I agree. Comparitively speaking, I still have a LONG way to go before I would be considered "good"---there are some guys in our group that are superb, and I would like to see more videos from them.
