This IS good but you can tell they envisaged it being a lot funnier, especially stuff like him falling back off the chair, which seems so forced. It's not directed as well as it should have been. Still...that's overanalysing what's still classic TV!
@performingmonkey900 LOL. Forced? That is one instance of physical comedy in the entire scene. And it doesn't seem forced at all. The Partridge character would do something like that. You might as well claim elements of Fawlty Towers are forced, because physical comedy always looks like it is thrown in to ensure a laugh. Nothing about either of those two shows was put in without it being planned. Partridge and Fawlty are legendary characters
