After I recovered from the shock and was able to pick up my jaw after it hit the floor (first time I watched it), I was able to laugh and this guy had me cracking up the whole time. For those of you offended, you have to understand what the point of the video is. The only reason New Orleans has been able to survive is because of its ability to have fun and get crazy even in its worst times.
That and the drive through daiquiri shops on every other street corner. Bars open 24/7/364. Liquor at the grocery. It also helps if the people in the area are downright crazy.

I have no clue where the viewers who see this as funny are from...but I'm from NC and my family lost it all in '99 to Hurricane Floyd. Therefore, a fat guy dancing in front of houses pisses me off. I was rescued from a tree in Floyd. We lost everything. And in '96 we had Hurricane Fran, who blew the roof off of our house. I'm guessing that the guy in the video was not in new orleans during katrina, or in NC during Fran, Floyd, and all of the many other hurricanes we have had.
I grew up in NOLA, now live in NC. This post serves as a perfect illustration of the difference in the 2 cultures. Living in NC is one hell of a lot easier, but livin' in NOLA is one hell of a lot more fun.

I'm from New Orleans (livin on the Bestbank) and I was depressed looking at all the Hurricane footage videos then I clicked on yours ready to be depressed again but you CRACKED ME UP!! I could never leave NOLA because of all the great neighbors. You take the good with the bad. Thanks for cheering me up.

AMEN Brother!!!! I'm from New Orleans. I can tell you it's not fun coasting through life in Florida. Can't wait until I can return. Sometimes, the kids and I put on "ain't no place to pee on Mardi Gras day" and dance around. We keep the spirit alive the best way we can.

Just want to say thanks!! I'm a Gretna fireman who grew up in New Orleans East. My mom, and grandmother still lived there until the storm, and lost everything. I made out a litter better. Seeing this video on the one year mark of Katrina really makes me feel alot better. Thanks guys I owe yall a few beers!!!
