I came back from hong kong to toronto @ 3:55 a.m.

the reason why my flight landed so late because there was a volcanic eruption on one of the pathways back, so the pilot needed to take an alternate route which delayed us for 4 hours because of that.

Yes there was enough fuel. I was on an A340-300 and my flight stopped in Anchorage, AK. The alternate route happened once we've taken off. The pilot didn't say anything, but the cabin crew mentioned that there was some sort of volcanic eruption

My flight from toronto to hong kong/back home has 1 stop in anchorage. This flight flies during the night and the 777-300 flies during the day
