  • "You see a lot of bathrooms like this, with this little sink. I have no idea what its for."

...maybe its for washing your hands after you take a dump lol.

  • @MegaJapanrocks It snows a lot here for sure. But the summer is fantastic and if you like winter sports then so is the winter. Good luck.

  • @MegaJapanrocks I am just like you! I am 12 and i want to go to Japan too, and because of that i might not go to collage and just move there. I am positive about it plus Kyoto rocks!!!

  • @MegaJapanrocks Yeah i'm the same as you except i'm 13 but i've wanted to like in japan scince i was twelve.'m not a snow person either:/

  • @Greatersend I am fine here, thanks for asking. We were very fortunate here in Nagano.

  • hii did it cost alot to go to nagano?? because when i get older i want to go live in nagano i am just 12 so i am saving my money lol

  • ???

  • nice house what town do you live in?

  • @MegaJapanrocks Shinano-town, Nagano Prefecture.

  • How was the JET program? I'm considering joining it after I get a 4 year degree.

  • @SaiyuriSora Still teaching but finishing up soon. It has been fantastic.

  • @frostkaiser Is it hard?

  • 6:10 reminds me of Fatal Frame.....don't ask why....O_o

  • @kakasuna kinda but you dont necesarlly set it on a frame.

  • @kakasuna J-life international is an online store that sells them, and you will be bale to grasp the nuances more than I could explain. Suffice to say, they are very comfy and are as good or better than Western style mattresses

  • @kakasuna A futon is the Japanese bed. They are supposed to be set directly on the ground (the tatami mats) along with the comforter and pillow they have as well. Since Japanese are so clean, the issue of sleeping on the ground is nil. The idea is to be able to save space and convert the rooms into a different size for other functions during the day. Price wise, you can get them for about the same as a Western style mattress over here, without the bed stead and headboard. I wish I could have :\

  • ummm no lock on door

  • @envyandgreed15 Thats what i was thinking to but i guess you don't have to worry about robbers in the country side.

  • spray water up ur ass??? u never use it??? rili?

  • How did you come to be so lucky to move into this POSH place?

What connections do you have that got you this place, please?

What is your rent, food expenses, electricity, internet, garbage, etc. per month please?

I don't mean to pry. I just want to know what it takes, truly to live there ...

  • @GimmeKitty I just asked to move, that was it! Although you should see my place now. I moved up into a huge log house in the mountains.

  • @frostkaiser Whoa, not to be too inquisitive, but what do you do for a living, if I may ask? It must cost a fortune to live in Japan, in a home especially!!!

Tell me more. Am all ears, eyes, etc. :)

  • @GimmeKitty Teacher on the JET program.

  • @frostkaiser Cool! Looks like you must make a fortune! May I ask how much ... message me if you care to reply. Sorry to seem to nosey. I am just so impressed at how folks live can live so well, over there.

  • @GimmeKitty Rent was only 90 bucks a month at this place. But I get payed about 35,000 dollars a year through the JET Programme.

  • @frostkaiser Wow .... niiiiiiiiiiice set up!

Say, may I ask how you managed to get only 90 BUCKS US for this posh a place??? Seriously, that is unheard of.

Also, please: Are you still in Japan? I'll bet the damage therein is just awful!! :(

  • @GimmeKitty It was teachers housing which means it is owned by the town and therefore it is really cheap. I am still in Japan and I moved to an even more awesome house up in the mountains. No damage where I am in Nagano, all the damage was way up North.

  • @frostkaiser Good for you. GLAD your digs did not sustain any damage.

  • Please make more videos of your stay in Japan!

  • I'm loving this. It's good to hear your voice again and see your day-to-day world.

  • For us* Woops. Wording fail. =]

  • Wicked house. I own an Apartment in Yokohama area. Hard for me to get housing, alot of them don't welcome me. Gaijin apparently. D: But Ya, i'm in for teaching aswell. I hope you come to the Yokohama area and play a concert us. =]

  • very nice house how much u got it for in pounds and please gooo out

  • spraying your ass with water hahah

  • you really pay 95 dollars?

how is it so cheap for such a nice place?

  • Teachers housing, very cheap depending on the city/town your in.

  • Hey, it's Nick. Very cool house.

  • Are you renting or buying? How much is rent for a place of that size if you don't mind me asking? Are you still a JET?

  • Renting, paying about 95 bucks a month (9500 yen), still a JET. Thanks for commenting.

  • Wow!! That is amazing! It's nice to know that if I don't love the apartment I adopt from my predecessor, it is possible to move. I wonder how much that would cost without JET.

  • Yeah, its always possible to move, although its not a sure thing that every situation will be as easy as is was for me. Hopefully youll have a nice BOE :). But moving is always a possibility, especially since I'm pretty sure that every town/city with a school in it is required by law to provide cheap teachers housing (in Japan the teachers are forced to relocate to another town/city every three years or so).

  • Cool, good to know! Well, thanks again for the videos. I'm glad you posted these on the Denver JET group.

  • a super market in eyesight of your house, awesome.

  • thanks for the tour!

although...the camera moved around a little fast and hence dizziness~

  • Your house is really nice! I've heard that the BOEs get kind of pissed if you move out of the accomodation they arrange for you. Did you have much trouble moving to your new place?

  • The BOE are actually the ones that arranged my move. Specifically my outgoing principal heard I was wanting to move and found another accommodation for me. Know that most cities/towns in Japan will many many teachers housing units and you can always move if a new one opens up.

  • Ah I see well that's pretty good then. Again, great house!

  • I enjoyed the tour!

Did you know the little sink in the bathroom actually does work. Stick your hand under the tap and you'll feel a metal tap-like ficture. Turn that and water will magically come out.
