My whole family apart from my parents, my brother and I live in China and we go back for at least a month every year. NONE OF US have ever felt like slaves. Tibetans get MORE BENEFITS than over 90% of the population. If we're not slaves, how can they be slaves?

Yes I have met falun gong praticioners and they were CELEBRATING about the devastating sichuan earthquake, saying that it was karma and that they used their 'magical powers' to detect the earthquake beforehand. Melvyn Goldstein, widely renowned as the leading tibetologist in the world, wrote a book about pre1559 tibet. Another source would be the historian Micheal Parenti, whose videos you can find on. youtube as well as israel epstein, a tom grumfeld and countless other sources. Not EVERYONE is brainwased by western media as you are.

Before 1959, EVERY family had to send one of their sons to be become a monk. 80% of the people were serfs or slaves, 15% were monks, and all the wealth and power went to the other 5%. But of course you wouldn't know that, would you?

The falun gong is a SHAME to chinese society. I believe AT LEAST 95% of Chinese people would agree with me on that.

The Tibetan language is allowed and is taught in China.

Say you are a person of both Tibetan parents, would you seriously learn Tibetan when the Han language is more useful?

Some people would; some people wouldn't.

Such is the essence of assmilation. Over a few generations the Tibetan language will be less and less robust, and will eventual become extinct.

As long as human beings are included in a society, it should be called social progress.

The Yuan dynasty WAS a chinese dynasty. Kublai Khan declared himself as EMPEROR OF CHINA and he rule his empire with the same methods as the previous Chinese dynasties rather than through the mongolian way of governing. He took up the mandate of heaven, a system that is STRICTLY CHINESE. Even the overwhelming majority of western historians CONSIDER the yuan dynasty as a CHINESE dynasty.

Tibet has been part of China ever since the yuan dynasty. During the ming dynasty, they had less control over tibet, but most historians, even western ones, do not define tibet as being a independent nation at the time. The qing dynasty further strengthened their control over tibet. Just shows that you know NOTHING about history.

About half of Tibet's trees were cut down. And the Tibetans got NOTHING for them.

Parenti might think that but far more than 5% of Tibetans studied at monasteries and nunneries.

Tibetans had a choice if they went to monasteries in the past, unlike now were the numbers of monks are severely restricted and their studies watched and interfered with by the communist party.

If many people studied at monasteries, you would probably have some kind of documents, such as letters, contracts, etc, that would prove the existence of an educated middle class. I don't think these exist.

From what I understand, the Chinese government subsidizes Tibetan monks for the purpose of maintaining traditional Tibetan culture. They are the only monks receiving such subsidies in China. However, they cannot subsidize an unlimited number.

That article has a great headline "Dalai clique's separatist activities condemned" which is quite amusing for me.

The problem is that HHDL isn't a separatist. He devised the middle way approach decades ago and has stuck by it. I'm sure its on his website dalailama. com if you want to read about it.

Tibet has been part of china ever since the yuan dynasty around 800 years ago. Only fanatics say it isn't part of china. China has a MUCH MUCH MUCH better claim over tibet than the US has over ALL of its land.

I'm aware of someone who took the trouble to learn Tibetan and traveled to Lhasa. She was gutted to discover that the use of Tibetan was discouraged in Lhasa.

Tibet's culture is being wiped out in Tibet.

Tibetans had things well under control before 1949 and in Lhasa many days a year were spent having religious festivals.

An army of thieves called the People's "Liberation" Army began invading the country of Tibet in late 1949. The communists trucked all Tibet's gold and silver statues to Beijing where they set up 5 different foundries just for the purpose of melting down the artefacts.

More than 6000 monasteries responsible for education in Tibet were wrecked.
