  • Cosmo!

  • very nice !

  • @neenei Thanks sooo much! Have a great week! (:>

  • cool! how do you manage to clean this do you have a particular filter or do you empty the whole tank out and refill it?

  • @HijackingAsian Thanks! I do a water change and wipe the walls down. I do have a hanging filter that helps also.

  • wtf i thought they grow to an inch

  • Nice aquarium you got there :) By the way where you get COSMO from?

  • do they have to be able to get out of the water or can i just put em in my tank???

  • @thaze95 Well I don't like it but I have my Fiddler Crab and my sister's Fiddler Crab in a Backyard Safari Habitat. It has land and a built in pool for them. They do go up to the surface and stay on land forquite a time so yeah they need to go out of water at certain times. You don't have to help them get up to the land if they can climb up to the surface. You should help them get to the surface if they can't climb up to it though.

  • Looks like he's king of the world ridin that shark lol.

  • Thank you! Have a great week!

  • Realy i wont reach my hand in their (BUT i will get my gasoline and a match, pure the gas down the hole then trow a match, thos things, had me DONE. I got 1 hole 2 days ago, i Smelt, burning crab. ):, but he needed it (:

  • Yea boy, that has a big claw. this reminds me 1 time when i went to the lake and getting thos crabs in the groud whlie 1 bit and did'nt let go. so i got s little and match and get that dammother fuker off, but when it fell the claw stad on, so i jsut lit the motherfuck UP with my fan and fire, but my hand hHurt so i just pulled it off, after it got off, my 1st layer of skin was gone. so i put gas down the hole then lit it up with fire. XD

  • Sounds like that was a rough time! bet ya want mess with crabs nomore! OOuch!

  • COSMO!!

  • The rocks that you used to stack them.. are they gravel, or rocks you found outside, or bought? Also, is it true that they climb your filter? and is that cosmo i see in the botton left? lol

  • You can go to the lakes and get rocks (Cheaper) Or a platform at petco. Yes they climb your filter and can get out! Mine did a few times. Yes thats cosmo! Take care!

  • you have an adorable crab!! i need help! I went to the pet store today and saw a fiddler and asked the employee if they need any special care but he said no.... well of course i bought him and put him in my 10 gallon tank with five other fishies.. well now im reading about them and somebody told me they need to get to air somehow... I honestly dont know what to do!! how can i get the little guy to air without disturbing the other residents in my tank? i dont want a dead fiddler on my hands! :(

  • I always stacked a lot of rocks to the water line so my crabs could get some air. They also will climb to the top of your plants to get air! Have fun!

  • What would be neat??

  • That's amazing that you've been able to keep that crab in freshwater for so long. They are actually brackish, but fish that live in brackish areas obviously sometimes go to full fresh or full saltwater once in a while. It's just that most of them can't survive in those conditions for too long before having to return to their brackish environment. That's why pet stores can get away with selling these crabs as "freshwater fiddler crabs." By the way, I hear they need to ingest sand, too.

  • That would be neat! Take care (:>

  • get him a female and try to breed baby crabs ( i think it;/s never been done but i've looked at your videos and i think you can do it!)

  • All that water for one fiddler i got 6 of them in a 10 gallon tank

  • They're actually brackish crabs and require some salt in their habitats. If you keep them w/o salt they will eventually die.

  • Your sooo right! Thanks for the comment! Take care.....

  • No problem! I might be getting some today, I'm really excited :D.

  • don't they need access to dry land? i wanted to put fiddler crabs inside where the fishes swim but i'm afraid that if i put too much aquarium salt it'll hurt the fishes. what do you suggest i do to have both the crabs and fishes in one tank? they're fancy goldfishes by the way

  • Hello, You can build a little platform out of rocks so they can have some dry land. Ask your local pet store about the salt and your fancy goldfish...I never had goldfish, But I do think they are delicate...And the crabs will try to eat there fins if caught. So just keep a close eye on them. Take care!

  • the only that can tolorate tat much salt is the fancy guppie...sorry

  • Freshwater, But I do add a little salt....Take care!

  • I hear moaning in the background xD

  • Don't know about the moaning? Love from Texas though! :)

  • lol <3 puertorican love is best <3

  • please ans bak

  • Hey, He is in fresh water and also I have a plat form for him to go in and out of the water. Take care!

  • is that fiddler crab under water?

    fresh or salt water?

  • Thank-You!......The fiddler's are such a joy to watch! Take care.......

  • That thing has a HUGE claw. You must be doing something right. Very nice.

  • Hey, Thanks for the tip's. That would be great if you could video the little babies when they are hatched! That would be cool to see! Take care...............

  • ACTUALLY, fiddler crabs usually live 2 to 3 years. But most die after 1 year because they're aquarium that they have either doesnt have land, or brackish water.

    They NEED land!

  • Yes, I know that now, I usually have plants stuck high on the glass where they can get out of the water or I'll build a high platform for them....The crabs are really a joy to watch! Thanks and take care......

  • Cool. I did the same thing. I put a bottle at the bottom for it to find air, and then I put big rocks for it to climb

  • WOW, nice Fiddler. I agree, your guy would benefit from having access to dry land as well as the brackish water. As for a female, I'm certain they like the company because my brother in law's female fiddler is currently laden with eggs.

  • Thanks for the tips, I just love my fiddler crab. I do put some salt in the tank. He has gotton so big, That's nice to know that he will live longer. I am attached to him! Take care.......

  • LoL they'll live way longer than a year if you take good care of them.

You need to give him easy access to land and make sure there's always some salt in the water for his body to absorb. Don't bother trying to get him a female...
