  • how many pounds of pressure will it adjust to?

  • I have 2 of these, one in the car, and one for when I watch TV

  • I think some of you are missing the point of this thing. You are not suppose to use it in loo of practicing on the guitar, you suppose to use in in conjunction with it. You use it when your walking or driving, sitting in class or at work, otherwise when playing your guitar is not an available option. It's also for overtraining your fingers with tension and pressure the guitar itself can't provide but will still make you better. And it's not just for musicians. I do card tricks and it helps

  • bullshit

  • Dude .. U don't need this piece of shit to warm up or build up speed ... Just practice the scales on a daily rutine on a low tempo .. and as U feel Like Ur fingers R improved raise the tempo a little bit .. and BOOM! ... there U go .. U've got the speed U need !

  • @mydemise666

You don't need to tell us the obvious. This was made for people to practice when they are AWAY from their guitar, like, at work, at a friend's, walking in the streets. I can guarantee you this will help a lot more than a useless (and absurdly expensive) 'shred neck'.

  • @sgbigsby1989 what's a Phygarian mode?

Yeah I played for a year now and I learned songs and they help me get better, then I tried to learn more difficult songs to get even more better.

I never tried Scales before. I found them extremely boring. They literally bored me to tears.

Now I tried this E minor scale, and I build the speed up to 215 bpm with a Metronome app on my iPod. It goes up to 800 bpm.

And I'm also trying this excersise where I build speed on my picking hand but at the same time

  • I destroyed the package (and directions), someone had found it online?

  • Comment removed

  • @TheToxicity70 you can do both

  • @The Toxicity70 you can do both

  • So if you get this you don't need to do scales?

  • @Soldier1287 of course. using this thing (i use it too) makes your fingers stronger, but it doesn't increase your concentration and it doesn't makes you knowing where the notes are, if you don't know them at all.

i've got a question, too: should i push down every finger severally or can i push them down the same time? i mean like you did at 0:08

  • @Soldier1287 scales improve dexterity not strength, how you play the scale affects your strength. this is good hammer ons and stuff, realy the only way to get good is to be disciplined and play the scales, work on strength, listening ability and focus.......now run along and learn the phrygian mode of the next 3 hrs and feel the burn

  • @mauricej74 I'm thinking about getting one. Does it actually work? is the pro hands better? thanks in advance

  • Is the varigrip only for guitarists?

I play clarinet, but i have slow fingers...

    will it still help?

  • @iwuvsp yes

  • @iwuvsp yes, playing with finger weights will also help, they are also guitar accesories though

  • does it matter if u take ur finger off like if u r pushing down with ur pinky can u lift ur other fingers up

  • @tnt420tnt it's the best if you hold all of your fingers on the varigrip or gripmaster all the time. this way, you let your fingers rest you don't use during a excercise. by letting your fingers rest on the varigrip / gripmaster, you don't add any tension on your fingers, so there will be less change you'll get cramp in your fingers. excersice twice a day, 10 minutes each time. if you get cramp during the excersice, stop training and let's your fingers rest for a while.

  • like any exercise equipment, you need to use it in, you can injure yourself by overdoing your exercises.

  • how much do they cost?

  • @FreaquedeMusique $14.99 at Guitar Center right now and $17.99 regularly

  • this thing is really making my pinky somewhat usable ^^

  • Sorry I meant Varigrip. Not grip master. I got confused. Vvvvvv

  • Please reply!!!!

How long should I use a grip master?

It's package shows 6 ways to use it:

Palm to tip, fist grip, thumb to tip, chord press, thumb squeeze, and of course, calluse builder. How long do I use each one? I don't want to hurt myself or anything. I've been using it till my arm starts to get tired. Like a little more than 30 seconds each.

    But what is correct??????

  • i highly recommend for every one ,i use it 2 days now,my fingers i stronger, i play solos that i was not abel before.

    buy it!

    you gone see it,its work

  • great tool!

but be sure not over use itt all

great for finger strengh building, and for endurance.

i love the callus builder, great future

  • Is there any difference between gripmaster, and varigrip?

  • This product is a piece of crap. You will hurt yourself with this. If you want to build finger strength why not just practice on the guitar itself. Jeff Beck, Chet Atkins, Wes Montgomery, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton NEVER had to use this type of contraption. It's good old fashioned practice on THE INSTRUMENT ITSELF that made their fingers nimble and strong.

  • @mahabang

if you're driving, in class or a boring job, why not add some muscle to your fingers? i don't think Beck, Atkins, Hendrix and Clapton were able to practice with a guitar while they were sitting on the john or waiting in line at the store.

  • Yea, Just bought mine today and it's pretty good i guess. I find it really useful when your out to go to somewhere, well...it's the only time I never play guitar, lol. But none the less it's a good tool to use and strengthen your fingers. I wouldn't recommend overusing it though, haven't had any problems, but just for safety measures.

  • No recomendable.

    Estos sistemas pueden producir tendinitis.

Prestar atencion en el dedo pulgar.

  • I just got it yesturday and man does your hand get sore.

  • I injured my fucking hand with one of these pieces of shit and was six months before the grip strength in my left hand returned.

If you want to build up your finger strength, play an acoustic guitar. But, avoid this thing.

  • @Hoopermazing

You're doing it wrong. Also, I'm a bassist so I'm definitely buying one to use during my lame ass classes.

  • @Uchihassk I'm not doing it at all. I wouldn't touch one of these things again. Simply playing acoustic guitar (and acoustic bass for that matter) has made the fingers of my fretting hand as strong as they'll ever need to be.

  • or you could just play more guitar, afterall that is what your trying to improve and nothing beats the real thing :/ seems like a solution to a problem that doesnt exist to me

  • @BandTheFeedback your right but , you have to start with the heaviest strings to get the same results, this is great for progressive bass player more i think. So overall this is a great thing to have cause you can bring it anywhere and do an infinite workout and build endurance

  • this thing gave me way more endurance on my thumb. it helps a lot

  • Any chance of actually doing yourself damage with this?

Is'nt it just best to sit with a guitar and do exercises

  • @Harrysound Maybe if you overuse it you can damage your fingers. But it's really good to use it for warm up or when you can't play, for example, when you're on the bus or not on your house, I think i'll buy one

  • I tryed this out and it feels cheaper compared to the Gripmaster, though this does more.

  • perfect for when im in a useless class :)

  • I just picked up one of these today. Man my fingers are weak!! How long does it take to see some results with this tool? How much should I do a day?

  • I've been using this for about a month, its pretty good

  • @mauricej74 1 year later...do u still use it... would u recomend it?

  • ive been using it for a day and i cant stop it !

haha very usefull tool. PLEASE everyone check my guitar covers, they are pretty nice!

  • Been using mine for a week. Seems to be a good tool.

Wonder wether using it with my plucking hand will help increase speed on my bass.

  • Nice I need this for warm ups and strength
