I remember he was on a talk show with chris rock and chris rock was bustin out jokes every 10 seconds, eddie murphy had nothing. He's a boring interview. We all saw him as a fast talking comedian in the late 80's early 90's. Cocky, Confident and lightning quick. Some people's on-screen persona's don't transfer over to interviews. Reading lines and interviews are 2 different things.

Because he's so famous for being so funny everything he says gets a response, everybody laughs at anything he does and everyone always kisses his ass so his judgement is way off. When it's time to actually be funny he doesn't do it so well anymore because he no longer knows how to honestly measure what's really funny or not.
