I have respect for that teacher/principle guy who doesn't like corporal punishment, but the way he touches the students is weird and looks a bit perverted if you know what I mean...

Most common form of corporal punishment are holding your arms up for certain period of time, running laps, doing squats, cleaning duties, not beating. Don't think that all teachers in Korea hit kids.
I don't have bitter feelings about these teachers even though I hated them at the time of the punishment, after a day or two I realize how much they cared for me. I still do remember these few teachers and have high respect for them. The problem is that the corporal punishment has become so common that most teachers(who shouldn't be teaching in the first place) use it to feel power, and to abuse children, or to vent their anger, becoming pure sadism without educational purposes.
I had a teacher slap my face repeatedly, throw a trash can at my head, shove me half way out the window to scare me, not to mention clountless blows on thighs, butts, and palms. Most teachers use corporal punishment as an excuse to take their anger out. Do I oppose coporal punishment? I have mixed feelings. While most teachers wrongly used it and abused this, there were SOME teachers who actually used it for educational purposes. Only raising the stick when you did something very wrong. I don't
I attended primary school in Korea until I was 13 then came to Canada and attended middle and high school. It was over 10 years ago when I left Korea so things are probably different now but I did get lots of corporal punishments. Were all of them 'whip of love' and 'educational'? the answer is a big NO. I would say 8/10 times it was the teacher's way of taking his/her frustration or stress out on the children or lazy way of showing discipline. Some of them were very brutal.
I just can't believe that these things are happening today. Take for example the first case. This teacher is proven to repetedely been hitting and violently shaking kids, pushing them furiously to the floor and kiking them, and even shot punching the girl in the head, with fist, and pretty hard. Ok, he gets fired, but the principle of the school advocates it was mistake?
I just don't understand it, how can she still be principle?
LOL.....Glad I don't live in that backwards country!
Those parents that want corporal punishment for "educational" purposes should have to put up with the same at their employment. If they don't do their job correct or are late for work, they have a choice of corporal punishment or being fired.
@HorrorFreak68 sometimes it works atually south korea has one of the highest education systems in the world,96% of students finish a high degree university, thats prob why you see so many doctors that are korean engineers people with high degrees.

@HorrorFreak68 It's far from 'backward.' S Korea has one of the world's lowest rates of teenage pregnancy and one of the lowest rates of teenage sexually transmitted diseases. It is also one of the world's most educated and literate nations out ranking both the USA and UK. Further, you can walk on the streets at night and be totally safe.
@suzannesadiiqa - like what? I've taught in some of the worst schools in the UK and if a students doesn't want to do something - including a detention or extra work - and they won't.
@limdongcheol If you have to ask that question I suggest you go back to teacher training college and re-do the class on student management and control tactics. I will concede hoever, that if proper behaviour is not instilled in the home before children reach school age then it is an upward struggle.
i'm same experiencer just like them but nobody gonna report their teacher. because they always thinking "getting coporal punishments are normal way to getting punishments." they never thoughts "why am i getting coporal punishments" or "why should i getting coporal punishments". i have a lot of things to tell u guys but it's hard to explain all things about it.
so in conclusion, Korean educational system is fucking sucks. why we can't get fine punishments just like american educational system?
2:46 ~ 3:26 : Fuck her. she's trying to bury the situation, protect him. people like her are most fucking trash of all time of educational society.
7:13 ~ 9:09 : this is The Perfect Examplar about "how teaches students and how punish them."
i'm one of korean students and the punishments in this video are truth. there are a lot of terrible punishments just like this but there's only few videos that shoot by students watching their friends getting punishments.
I believe in corporal punishment but as the last resort not just because a kid didn't know an answer but because of bad behavior or disrupting class and once they get to the punishment it should be administered by the staff, a counselor and video recorded.
Nothing in education is simple guys... I thought that this vid starts out really sensationalistic, dwelling on the Oh Jang Pung scandal. But in the end it's more balanced and thoughtful. To the person that said punishment makes people more willing to change - how do you know? It's pretty simplistic logic. Note the kid at 14:05, he has the right idea; change can only come from the heart. Fear of punishment makes people liars more adept at avoiding discovery, it doesn't encourage change.
@0davus ...The issue is sincerity. Often enough students who are punished only alter their behavior in the short run and in bad faith. But they're only waiting for their chance to go back. It can damage someone's development more to resist punishment this way than not get it at all. However, at times it might be alright to "teach with the touch" not just the sight and sound at this is a more direct and effective way of making the student realize the teacher is in earnest...
Wow I can see the Angle they are coming from with corporal punishment, sooner or later it will break you and make you. Why do you think the US kids are so unruly and do the worst in school? They have too much freedom and if they don't get disciplined at home they think they are the kings and queens of the world, so to an extent sometimes light corporal punishment might be necessary. By that I mean a light wack on the head like they do it on the kdramas or something. Personally I don't like the
You dont have to be Freud to tell that the teachers striking the students have serous confidence problems, they are clearly angry and taking advantage, I wouldnt be surprised if child molestation also went on.
are these people blind 4:46, misinterpreted? My ASS!! A teacher touches my kid that way he better know some martial arts, or better know MrT and Chuck Norris cause I would break his legs.
I'm not saying that corporal punishment is good, but it is more effective than just getting a scolding from the teacher and a call from your parents. In the U.S, the worst kind of punishment is expulsion. It doesn't eradicate a child's misbehavior; sooner or later, he/she would do it again, which means they never learned their lesson.
If a punishment is direct and physical, children will be more willing to make an effort to change themselves because they don't want to experience it again.
and to add.. here in the USA they using timeouts on little kids, wearing dunce caps in the 70s, detention, demerits, school cleanup.. its our way of punishment, and it obviously doesnt work. have you checked where the US ranks in education?
i talked to one of my Korean friends, she told me it is normal to use corporal punishment in the classrooms. the teachers depicted here may have gone to the extremes, but a knock on the head with an open palm, getting on your head and balance on a tri-angle with your feet, or raising your hands in the back of the classroom until the entire class ended were normal. just because western and european countries oppose this, it doesnt mean its 100% bad. btw.. don't asians get better grades than any1?
@katilywite Are you serious? After watching this video you r talking about a knock on the head with the open palm? They may have gone too far in this video?!? "may have"?
This is nothing but taking it out on children. And no, you are not right that "western countries" opose this. Humane and civilised people in the western countries, and in the rest of the world opose this. And tell me, would you punch your ten years old child in the head so that he scores better in maths?
I'm 12 and if a teacher laid a finger on me therenting to hit me I'd say "bring it bitch!!!" then start swinging like hell lol I'm in 7th grade not 6th
Some of the footage shows teachers punching or shaking children or beating them somewhere other than the buttocks. This is assault, because it is undisciplined and injuries can be caused. However, the traditional use of a cane or whip on the buttocks is perfectly safe and very effective in changing behavior. So I hope the Koreans control the types of punishment teachers can provide, rather than banning corporal punishment entirely.
When i was at school we had corpral punishment..i was wrapped on the knuckles many times as a 6 year old..the bitch done this on a daily basis until my parents stepped in..these days she would have been charged with assault..we recieved the belt at high school..we always thought if we put a hair on our hands it would cut us while receiving the belt so we could sue them ..the hair never worked..just a sore red hand..but the belt never done me any harm in later life.too many asshole kids nowadays
here in germany we have the problem with kids punching their teachers in some schools. How can these kids let these teachers beat em? I´d have probably defend myself and kicked their asses.
But in this video those case are just roughest kinda crime that teacher losing his reason. so just those news had reported as like reporting news of a crime , that's all.
Why does Korea got such hard educational circumstance?
Because, Korea have gotten tons of invasions from beside countries for a long time during over 2000years.
Dozens of Chinese invasions, several Japanese invasions, Mongolian invasion and as you know finally had been become separated 2 nations due to USSR soviet supported north Korea in 1950 Korean 3year war which was 4million people dead. These have caused to need strong and a bit rough educational circumstance. Even in military.
@TwinGirlss They're not supposed to and that's why it gets on the news and stuff but i guess rotten schools still do it? nobody knows unless they're from a school like that i guess
Fucking shitty teachers, never in my 17 years of school have i even been pinched by a teacher.....and look at me,i'm not a delinquent or a drug addict or anything. It's all about good parenting and education, not beating the shit out of students..
@kilbraur Acting like a bigshot over the internet is not going to make you look cool you piece of shit.Ooooh "intemperate",watch out people we got a smart guy over here.LOL retard.Stop trolling on my comments and get a life.
@kilbraur Says the guy who's trolling on my comments xD.Obviously no matter how much I argue with you, you're not gonna quit bothering me :) because you're a gay prick.Sorry I don't swing that way so go hit on someone else.HAHA Faggot.
@kilbraur And you use that keyboard warrior joke when someone threatens to beat you up online :). So you pretty much fucking fail as well.Go and listen to justin bieber or something and get off my back.IF you reply me,it just proves how really gay you are.
@HIM666dark6light : Do you often talk to yourself, you slack jawed faggot? - Now we all know you're a fag! You're so gay it's disgusting!! - Did you just tell your mama you suck boy's dicks? It's important.
CHILDREN NEED TO EDUCATED THAT NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO HIT SHAKE OR KICK YOU IF THE CHILD IS REALLY BAD AND NOT REPSECTFULL ITS EITHER BECAUSE THE TEACHER IS NOT OR THE PARENTS ARE NOT SETTING AN EXPAMPLE..
lol just shoook him kicked him and more and thats not hitting or harming a child get with vice principal your a dud.......and so more parents should speak out and TAKEACTION stop violence in any form........on everyone....
you know what this happen in Korea? the reputation of teacher in Korea is fucking low, many stupid pupils do not listen what teachers say and even they even look down the teachers. I think some kind of punishment is necessary to educate them.
I understand they need corporal punishment, but they don't have to overdue it. Like, seriously, you see how that guy teacher was hitting that girl? Outrageous! I do not want anyone hitting my child like that; only I can.
I gues it doesnt make me "cry" because ive seen this kinda thing happen before. (and it happened to me in a very very mild form too in school in Turkey). but it is outrageous and those teaches should not be teaching!
I'm Korean and I believe Korean school should follow American/Canadian way of punishment which is, let them be. Honestly, if the student shows no interests for their future and their education, well, it's their loss.
But I also know why these teachers can't just ignore the students. It's because parents complain to the teacher for allowing their students to fail. But that's also wrong. Korean parents themselves should convince their own child to work harder at school.
@ribbonzs I agree it is the parents job to encourage students. but when i was low in motivation because of my parents' neglect i had a quite strict teacher (stricter than all my other relaxed teacers) who motivated me to study harder. thus saving my education basically! so it is also up to teachers as well to see who are neglected at home and help them
@MsPingu112 btw this was in Canada. my teacher used to come to class with a cane - obviously he never hit us with it, but he would sometimes raise his voice (not yelling AT us but just talking loudly and dramatically) and hit our desks with it to get our atention.
myyyy fucking god .. i had ACTUAL tears watching the beatings man! dafaark was that shit about bro! i wish wish that all of the schools theere were as easygoing as the last schl being reported! it's the respsonsibilty of the student whether they take up the opportunity to learn or not. they're right when they say that forcing kids of this generation to do something is def not a win win situation. society is all about independence and making your OWN decisions is what comes w being a teenager.
Corporal punishment is too harsh. I don't want to get bruised. They hit too hard. Id rather do exercises that getting hurt. We are all humans and we shall be treated equally. I do agree that children these days are becoming rude. Im 13 and many of my classmates act like they're all tht. They've become quite distracting. They have no manners these days.
@iEverLastingFriends I think psychological control is more effective. but it should not be corrupting...... i dont know how it would work though.........
Yes I believe in corporal punishment But I don’t believe that teachers should do punishment, it should be the parents or the principal! Because teachers see you all day long and they will take their anger out on the child and that becomes abuse like those morons in the videos.
I'm not entire against Corporal Punishment...in KOREA, that is. Old fashioned Asian thing.
But honestly, if the only method of respect or intimidation given to a teacher is gained by physical punishment, then that teacher has failed at their profession...Or the kid is an enormous brat. In that case, you should ship them off to a suspension school.
I'm going to be more in the middle. I both support and don't support corporal punishment. Squats and physical exercies-type punishments should be allowed, but strangling, hitting, and using profanity at an elementary student? I'm sure we all know THAT shouldn't be allowed.
Those people who beat and beat supporters of youth is a great shafts and sadists, normal honest man, even at the thought of him not coming to chastise a student for an offense by it. The idea ofpunishing young people did not come from honest people, just from the sadistic beast, they are worthy of such a method, then punish them for this idea. No court in the world do not have a right to give permission to floggings in szkołach.Jest a violation of divine law and moral.
In my old high school and middle school they could 've used corporal punishment. All those kids grew up to be drug dealing gangsters or prison inmates. But only in moderation. Starting off with difficult and embarrassing exercise before any actual spanking.
a good army a good hotel a good store all these things need dicipline adults have there rules as well common sense tell you an un diciplined child is an undiciplined adult look at the uk gone right down the pan...
I think that teachers should be more easier but not TOO easy. But the shouldn't be allowed to hit them like that. I'm Korean and as a child I was raised very strictly but I don't think that students in primary schools should get slapped or abused in a classroom. I think all students need good displanery but not to the point of teachers abused and hurting and making students suffer of just one tiny mistake they made.
teachers who feel like they need to hit their children are weak and incompetent. i live in australia where corporal punishment has been banned for ages, and the teachers who have no control and privately wish they could give some students a good whack are normally those who are badly-organized and are incompetent educators. the teachers who have no problem with even the most roughest, burliest teenage boys are the ones who never raise their voice. mutual respect is the epitome of good teaching.
@chaosbringer127 how does it help, anyway? Either you terrify the kid into submission, which leads to unhealthy relations with adults in places of authority, or it doesn't work and you end up with an even more pissed off kid. Nobody misbehaves for a reason, and beating isn't the solution. The teacher-student relationship should be established upon mutual respect.
sometimes parents do not enforce observance of established rules, allowing children to believe they can do whatever they want in any situation. Force is a great way to establish boundaries that can be actually physically observed rather quickly...
@chaosbringer127 the quick solution isn't always the right solution. There's a typo in my previous response - nobody misbehaves for no reason. Bad parenting is not an excuse for corporal punishment, and in any case, it is hardly fair to punish a child because their parents are not doing their job. It may be a longer and more complicated process to get to the root of the problem, but nobody said being a teacher is easy. It's part of the job.
@chaosbringer127 I am with you on this one. Because with me when I was living with my mom she didnt enforce rules so I would act up at home and school. Bec I had no reason to worry. But when my mom sent me to live with my dad he did spanked me and that did worked. He did try the grounding stuff but that was a joke and he knew it! Plus changing schools and having a new start was the best thing for me. I started to like school and my new teachers so yes spanking does work as long its not abuse
I think the kids nowadays are VERY uncontrollable. I'm still a kid myself and I agree that the people in my class need controlling, but seriously. This is taking it way too far.
It's an interesting topic. I've found the best method of punishment in school to be humiliating the offender (Always interesting to see rows of people singing "I'm a little teapot" during break), and for parents to take on an authoritarian role. If corporal punishment is used responsively - both at home AND at school - I have no issue with it. If it's used irresponsibly, then ban it. If there are merely isolated incidents, fire the teachers. That works quite well in my honest opinion.
If my teacher did ANYTHING like that to me the next day i wouldent tell the police or my parents or anything like that no I would go into school and beat the SHIT OUTTA HIM THOS STUPIS ASIAN BASTERDS
Hey...I teach in korea in a all boys high school. This teacher may well have been justified. These kids here are out of control, worse than back home in US.
Whyy are teachers beating their students in Korea ? Yeaaa , maybe they did something wrong , but that doesn't give you the right to beat them ! If this ever happened to mee I would just get upp and run out of the school . (You can just get up and run right out of the school if someone does this to you) Just make sure you don't get caught . And the teenager in the white polo (the second beating tape) is HOT !
at 2:59 "in legal sense, he didn't harm the kid." - "he didn't physically harm the kid. nothing like that." oh no he didnt - he was just punching, slapping, abusing him but oh no wasnt harming him or "physically" harming the kid stupid asian bitch have you evan watched the video? no didnt think so...
I don't believe in corporal punishment but for arguments sake the people in clip that are punishing there student aren't doing this out of guidance for the student there doing it cause there frustrated with there student's, which it damaging the student views in what right and wrong, maybe that why there's a rise in violent teen, if you where going to corporeally punish a student in needs to be concisest with the violation.

Dont bash corporal punishment. Look how well mannered and formal alot of these kids are. Then look at British youths.... They beat up their teachers, and after school, they riot and set their own country on fire...
@tonypotterz hmm... typical america? get sued for just about everything? "OH MY GOD! you just didn't put your foot on my lawn" thats it wheres my laywer im sueing yo ass bitch"
if a teacher ever beat me like that i would take a knife and stab him and then when the media comes down to the school and ask, "Why did you do this?"
I would say, "I was just learning from the teacher...I mean violence does solve everything doesn't it."
I'm Korean, but I grew up in America. Going back and forth, I see how messed up America can be at times. I hate corporal punishment myself, but I thinks it's necessary for stubborn discipline. However, even I have to admit the teacher talking about how the kid wasn't harmed is Kim Jong-Il's assistant. This was taken too far.
@buggld very true .. asian schools are very ordered - compared to the shite ive seen in America - the kids in US are simply out of control. I've noticed tihs especially with the black youth - who especially need a course in corporal punishment for their sheer disregard of school community and harmony!!!
If i was one of those students, This is what i would do. I would say
WHAT THE F**** YOU WANT??? YOUR NOT MA MOTHER! SO DON'T PUT YOUR LITTLE DIRTY HANDS ON ME! and smack the fugly teach beside his head to make him think right :P
I'm sorry this is such bullshit. This is such a misrepresentation of my culture. I'm korean, and I grew up being hit every now and then. As far as I'm concerned that's part of growing up in my culture.Of course they don't mention that Korea has one of the best education performance records around the world. Or that, alot of kids start school from 8am til 8 or 9 pm. It is entirely the teacher's responsibility to discipline. Personally, I find the 'principal' touching the kids more disturbing.
i found this EXTREMELY un-comforting, that i had to stop half way. i really tried my best to keep an open mind to their culture, but some how i don't think its right at all. punching students in the face, calling them bitch, bastard etc. is CROSSING THE LINE. it has turned from corporal punishment to CHILD ABUSE/CRUELTY. Have you seen the bruises they have endured? Ive heard of way too many teen suicides because of this to go on. Just.. im so appauld right now. :'(
It shouldn't be allowed, especially if the kids have bruise on there behinds. That's going to far and since when is punching a girl in the face considered corporal punishment!! wth!!
the women at 2:47 when she is being interviewed has a very wrong idea of children. im 13 years old in America and i always help, love, and respect my mother. This women says that the teacher wasnt harming the kid in a legal sense, even if thats the case the teacher still called the student a bastard and other harsh words. in America the teachers can yell at you but they cant lay a finger on you.
Yes there needs to be discipline, but not violence please. I believe that kind of discipline is for the parents, but there is a limit. You can control your students and children, you just have to know how.
13:15 This is so true about some parents in South Korea. If there is a conflict between the teacher and the student the student will rush back home and complain to their parents. When the teacher requests to meet the parent in person to discuss the problem they refuse to come in because they are "too busy". Also here's a little known fact about South Korean schools. A child can never be held back a grade due to poor performance. Why? Because it will hurt the child's feelings.
I've seen this shit too often while teaching in Seoul, South Korea. Many teachers keep a small stick AKA "Love Stick" beside them while teaching. It's even worse in the country side.
this isn't a punishment this is form of abuse because they now that student can't hit back because they're future is in their hands.. that serious beating on that little boy was too much ! "1:11 / 2:01" you should pick someone your own size Mr teacher! !
you c what happens when there is no corporal punishment these mother fuckers get lazy and sleep in class. nothing a good smack to the back of head can't cure.
the interesting part is that these students seem more respectful an well behaved than american high school. when you view American students during school time they behave like fucking monkeys and wild animals. To a certain extent and form corporal punishment does work.
i dont really know how i feel about corporal punishment but its all about the teachers u hire. there may be teachers who are good at teaching but some are either abusive or some are to passive. u just need to find a teacher who understands what discipline is and when it is necessary or not to use it.
@LuvLi04 You had better decide how you feel about corporal punishment because any time there is physical violence used it opens the opportunity for abuse by sadists. Check out web site - corpun.com and see the how some barbaric nations (Singapore and Malaysia) continue this abuse on males into adult hood.
Violence begets more of the same. There can not be any defense of violent brutality.
I wish they would do a follow up story on this subject.

i'm one of korean students and the punishments in this video are truth. there are a lot of terrible punishments just like this but there's only few videos that shoot by students watching their friends getting punishments.
korea148 2 weeks ago
I believe in corporal punishment but as the last resort not just because a kid didn't know an answer but because of bad behavior or disrupting class and once they get to the punishment it should be administered by the staff, a counselor and video recorded.
Jayc2400 2 weeks ago
Nothing in education is simple guys... I thought that this vid starts out really sensationalistic, dwelling on the Oh Jang Pung scandal. But in the end it's more balanced and thoughtful. To the person that said punishment makes people more willing to change - how do you know? It's pretty simplistic logic. Note the kid at 14:05, he has the right idea; change can only come from the heart. Fear of punishment makes people liars more adept at avoiding discovery, it doesn't encourage change.
0davus 2 weeks ago
@0davus ...The issue is sincerity. Often enough students who are punished only alter their behavior in the short run and in bad faith. But they're only waiting for their chance to go back. It can damage someone's development more to resist punishment this way than not get it at all. However, at times it might be alright to "teach with the touch" not just the sight and sound at this is a more direct and effective way of making the student realize the teacher is in earnest...
0davus 2 weeks ago
Wow I can see the Angle they are coming from with corporal punishment, sooner or later it will break you and make you. Why do you think the US kids are so unruly and do the worst in school? They have too much freedom and if they don't get disciplined at home they think they are the kings and queens of the world, so to an extent sometimes light corporal punishment might be necessary. By that I mean a light wack on the head like they do it on the kdramas or something. Personally I don't like the
michina1987 3 weeks ago
I wish "lying" was the worst problem teachers had with the kids.
Corporal punishment is a mistake because:
1. What if the kid is a foot taller than you, outweighs you by 30lb and won't take it from you?
2. How would it look in court if a 6 oot 3 inch 230lb adult beats a 3 foot tall 60lb child?
3. What if youjit the kid and he suffers brain damage? He won't be learning anymore in your class, I guarantee!

If a punishment is direct and physical, children will be more willing to make an effort to change themselves because they don't want to experience it again.

i talked to one of my Korean friends, she told me it is normal to use corporal punishment in the classrooms. the teachers depicted here may have gone to the extremes, but a knock on the head with an open palm, getting on your head and balance on a tri-angle with your feet, or raising your hands in the back of the classroom until the entire class ended were normal. just because western and european countries oppose this, it doesnt mean its 100% bad. btw.. don't asians get better grades than any1?
katilywite 1 month ago
@katilywite Are you serious? After watching this video you r talking about a knock on the head with the open palm? They may have gone too far in this video?!? "may have"?
This is nothing but taking it out on children. And no, you are not right that "western countries" opose this. Humane and civilised people in the western countries, and in the rest of the world opose this. And tell me, would you punch your ten years old child in the head so that he scores better in maths?

Some of the footage shows teachers punching or shaking children or beating them somewhere other than the buttocks. This is assault, because it is undisciplined and injuries can be caused. However, the traditional use of a cane or whip on the buttocks is perfectly safe and very effective in changing behavior. So I hope the Koreans control the types of punishment teachers can provide, rather than banning corporal punishment entirely.

MsPingu112 2 months ago
I'm Korean and I believe Korean school should follow American/Canadian way of punishment which is, let them be. Honestly, if the student shows no interests for their future and their education, well, it's their loss.
But I also know why these teachers can't just ignore the students. It's because parents complain to the teacher for allowing their students to fail. But that's also wrong. Korean parents themselves should convince their own child to work harder at school.
ribbonzs 2 months ago
@ribbonzs I agree it is the parents job to encourage students. but when i was low in motivation because of my parents' neglect i had a quite strict teacher (stricter than all my other relaxed teacers) who motivated me to study harder. thus saving my education basically! so it is also up to teachers as well to see who are neglected at home and help them

I think that teachers should be more easier but not TOO easy. But the shouldn't be allowed to hit them like that. I'm Korean and as a child I was raised very strictly but I don't think that students in primary schools should get slapped or abused in a classroom. I think all students need good displanery but not to the point of teachers abused and hurting and making students suffer of just one tiny mistake they made.
mscrazy4top 3 months ago
teachers who feel like they need to hit their children are weak and incompetent. i live in australia where corporal punishment has been banned for ages, and the teachers who have no control and privately wish they could give some students a good whack are normally those who are badly-organized and are incompetent educators. the teachers who have no problem with even the most roughest, burliest teenage boys are the ones who never raise their voice. mutual respect is the epitome of good teaching.
ladyrenegade96 3 months ago
@ladyrenegade96
some kids just need a good beating, regardless of the skill level of the teacher.
chaosbringer127 3 months ago
@chaosbringer127 some adults just need a good beating, but nonetheless, it is a violation of human rights.
ladyrenegade96 3 months ago
@ladyrenegade96
it isn't a violation of human rights...who determines human rights? Some kids who act terribly should be disciplined by force..
chaosbringer127 3 months ago
@chaosbringer127 how does it help, anyway? Either you terrify the kid into submission, which leads to unhealthy relations with adults in places of authority, or it doesn't work and you end up with an even more pissed off kid. Nobody misbehaves for a reason, and beating isn't the solution. The teacher-student relationship should be established upon mutual respect.
ladyrenegade96 3 months ago
@ladyrenegade96
sometimes parents do not enforce observance of established rules, allowing children to believe they can do whatever they want in any situation. Force is a great way to establish boundaries that can be actually physically observed rather quickly...
chaosbringer127 3 months ago
@chaosbringer127 the quick solution isn't always the right solution. There's a typo in my previous response - nobody misbehaves for no reason. Bad parenting is not an excuse for corporal punishment, and in any case, it is hardly fair to punish a child because their parents are not doing their job. It may be a longer and more complicated process to get to the root of the problem, but nobody said being a teacher is easy. It's part of the job.
ladyrenegade96 3 months ago
@chaosbringer127 I am with you on this one. Because with me when I was living with my mom she didnt enforce rules so I would act up at home and school. Bec I had no reason to worry. But when my mom sent me to live with my dad he did spanked me and that did worked. He did try the grounding stuff but that was a joke and he knew it! Plus changing schools and having a new start was the best thing for me. I started to like school and my new teachers so yes spanking does work as long its not abuse

Personally, I find the 'principal' touching the kids more disturbing.
oneteaspoon10 6 months ago 2
i found this EXTREMELY un-comforting, that i had to stop half way. i really tried my best to keep an open mind to their culture, but some how i don't think its right at all. punching students in the face, calling them bitch, bastard etc. is CROSSING THE LINE. it has turned from corporal punishment to CHILD ABUSE/CRUELTY. Have you seen the bruises they have endured? Ive heard of way too many teen suicides because of this to go on. Just.. im so appauld right now. :'(

also another thing to point out. if the child is uncontrollable at home or try their best to educate their children at home but doesnt work then
1) its the parents fault if they're uncontrollable since its ur job to raise the kid the right way
2) if you cant educate ur kid at home then thats why they made schools duh -_-
dealdeath22 6 months ago
the women at 2:47 when she is being interviewed has a very wrong idea of children. im 13 years old in America and i always help, love, and respect my mother. This women says that the teacher wasnt harming the kid in a legal sense, even if thats the case the teacher still called the student a bastard and other harsh words. in America the teachers can yell at you but they cant lay a finger on you.
dealdeath22 6 months ago
Yes there needs to be discipline, but not violence please. I believe that kind of discipline is for the parents, but there is a limit. You can control your students and children, you just have to know how.
AleMonsterUnleashed 6 months ago
13:15 This is so true about some parents in South Korea. If there is a conflict between the teacher and the student the student will rush back home and complain to their parents. When the teacher requests to meet the parent in person to discuss the problem they refuse to come in because they are "too busy". Also here's a little known fact about South Korean schools. A child can never be held back a grade due to poor performance. Why? Because it will hurt the child's feelings.

this isn't a punishment this is form of abuse because they now that student can't hit back because they're future is in their hands.. that serious beating on that little boy was too much ! "1:11 / 2:01" you should pick someone your own size Mr teacher! !

the interesting part is that these students seem more respectful an well behaved than american high school. when you view American students during school time they behave like fucking monkeys and wild animals.

A principal who greets his students individually each morning should be turned as a role model, nationally and internationally.

@Daan892 I agree. In the private schools of Canada, students from the 1st grade shake hands with their teachers every morning.
