Were you not paying attention? Well, let me lay it out for you.

The guy had the fishing pole atatched to him. He was reeling in the shark, but it started to fight back. This led to him being pulled into the water. When trying to swim back to the boat, he collided with the tunahead they were using as bate, and by the time that happened, more sharks had been drawn to the area because of the blood. Because he collided with the head, undoubtedly he had some of that blood on him. Cont.

The sharks could smell the blood obviously, and because he most likely had some of the blood from the tuna head on him, they started circling him. Fortunately though, the guy's buddies managed to get him back in the boat before the sharks could attack.

So, how did the sharks nearly take his life you ask? It was because he, as I said already, was pulled into the water, and got some of the blood from the tuna head on him when trying to swim back to the boat.
