Banelings lose to mass marine 90% of the time. Its just to cost effective at only 50 minerals versus 50 + 25 + 25 + the time to make them. Go look at Halby's channel.

this build is more effective when you push out right at the 5 min mark but if you build without the refinery you can get like 4/5 more marines, and you dont even need to make it an "all in", so you can leave the scvs... at 5 min there just filling up the natural with drones, putting marines right at the choke so they cant get to you or run back into the main helps

@shadowsform0 you don't need stim or orbital or gas, but its always good to fake it then cancle right as the scout leaves, also if you cat all that crap out you can push at 5min with 4 more manies you you don't need to bring as many scvs or any at all, so its not an all in if you do it right

This worked mainly cause there were no banelings. I've tried this type of cheese and it fails horribly if the Zerg has banelings out (which will happen 90 percent of the time against a terran).

@TheChaosKhan It's an early, aggressive all-in. What makes it so good is it's timing. It's before they've got a banelings nest, so you can do significant damage. If you go for all the add-ons you'll miss your opportunity

wouldnt it be better to add addons to ur 4 barracks then push on with ur heavy marines? although its a lot slower but if u add reactor and even tech lab, u can make ur marines more powerful with stim and shield and production is better in the long run, also, if that fails, u can use ur saved gas to go for factory and such, wat do u think?

I like to do a similar variant called the Mega Rax. You basically do the same thing but proxy your raxes. I think this strat works best against toss as long as they don't opt to go fast colossus or scout your proxy and especially if they lack sentry micro skills.

@ENDY238 Dude I don't know what the fuck kind of game that was, but this video shows terran pushing out at 7 mins. How many thors could you possibly have? Also thors are terrible vs marines. Thors shoot slow, and a marine ball of that size just does way too much dps for the thor to stay alive for very long, even with scv repair.

@RaDleySkidbeater not enough time. Reactors take FOREVER to build. plus thats 2 more marines that you can make instead and you have plenty of production to do so. 4 rax allows you as much as you want on one base, reactor wouldn't help any.

theres not a lot of going back after this, reactor is not useful for such a short game. I lost to this the other day, but I wasn't mad. It's your fault if you lose because of bad scouting, even if the build is all-in. (I'm saying they aren't proxying or doing anything tricky.. mass marines is a strat in all leagues)

At around 5:25 in the game, the mineral starting to build up where all 4 barracks are producing marine, could it be better to drop down some more barracks... - 3 SCV mining time for building barracks and supply ... or build reactor on barrack... might as well put the mined gas to use? The refinery is not needed though, it was build just to hide the BO i guess... ? I just notice reactor today, reactor takes 50s to build compare to 25s for a tech lab...

@bhaktakun theres often a lag since pro players are living all around the world, not to mention players often pause the game, gg, then leave.. this creates more lag...so it appears like they left and then gged

you will notice this A LOT with korean players...I think some people even call it the korean gg haha.

hi since he has 4 marines on the ramp and has a wall on it, it would be impossible to scout it with an overlord or with a drone. he has afterall, 3 rax near the rear of the base and the mass of marines rallied in the middle...^^

@billi23cool23 Reactor takes a loooong time to build. You can make about 2 marines for the build time. Also, you don't use the SCVs to mine gas so you will have more minerals for more rax and marines.

Try out for yourself. What building composition will get you the most number of marines at 5:00 mark? 4~5 rax with no addons.
