it's over dude.... it was over back in the 90's. Some people just get stuck in a rut and never go forward. How do you stay in a scene like this that depends on drug addicts for support?
@tlthe5th It may be over for you but those who are in it for the music and art will always be... those who come and go with their drug experiences aren't in it for the music but it still is experiences indeed. There will always be a core to the electronic music scene and there will always be an underground.
@bullldogs004 every dj at some point puts on a bad show, but bones definitely does not suck live. I have seen him 12 times and he shredded every time except 1.
@plastikbeats, NO, not it. The track I'm refering to is no in this video, but at the beginning of this set, where Frankie first steps on after Donald Glaude gets off the decks.
...and being one reason of 3 DJ's that I emulated when I started, a ROLE MODEL for ALL so called DJ's who want to do it right, instead of just pressing start, stop, & sync on a laptop. Those of us who know, KNOW, AND WE ACT LIKE IT.
Props to the legend. BTW, Frankie, email me how much you charge to do a remix. Thinking about putting a vinyl out, and would love to have an original track by you, or a remix, or both, or something. Get at me. Got some heads that need some direction. RESPECT
Frankie, PLEASE tell me what track you started off that set with. I've been looking for years, and it was the first one I ever heard you play (from the Live @ Momentum tape). I'll buy it from you ON VINYL man, because vinyl is ALL I play. djbuddylee@hotmail.com is my email. I have been IMPRESSED with Frankie Bones for 20 years, since before I ever went to a rave 15 years ago. I still give this man props for being a legend of the game and STILL playing vinyl, not selling out, GETTING IT...
Spinning on vinyl 'alone' nowadays just doesn't seem so cool anymore....seems very ancient, yet classic, but it just doesn't have the same vibe it did before everyone transitioned over to cdjs or serato.
I know alot of people would disagree with me on this one but I think unless you're qbert or some amazing turntablist, you do not need to spin on vinyl anymore.
Here is the thing with the post below this one. You got to be kidding me? First of all Josh Brookfield, I'm legendary in the scene. No, straight up. No bravado, simple, straight fact. Anyone wants to check my Facebook page can see what I represent and what I am about. You think a silly little troll has that kind of reach to effect who I am and what I done? I'm sorry, you lose. I don't even live in Brooklyn, fool. Just stop. Let it go.
Once I added two CDJ-1000's with two Technics SL-1200's utilizing all four channels of a Pioneer DJM-800, I became part of the past, present & future all at once, right here, right now. If you look at Frankie Bones SG 20 part 3 on Youtube, you will get to see it without me having to explain it.
if you dj, you almost have to go digitgal now, unless you just wanna keep spinning old shit! which is tight but their so much new sick music now that are not pressing cuz that cost more money as well as distributing sukkaah!!! SERATO!
true any kid can now just log on and burn music to play . Before you had to work at getting your music. Most dj now have never been inside a record store.
I've seen him over a dozen times in Wisconsin and Illinois, and he is my favorite dj. I had a bad trip on 'cid back about 10 years ago, in Chicago. Old 3 story office building, and right before I was gonna lose my mind I heard a little voice come from the speakers, along with this static bass that was so low and dirty that I had to walk towards it. I swear to god it was like the pied piper, people were drawn to the speakers, and there he was, Frankie Bones, the man, the myth, the legend.
wow. first comment. i feel special now! I just love watching this man do his thing. Calling him the master is still insulting, because he is that and so much more.
