1. No private investors would touch the gov't funded project. never knew why.
2. If the technology did prove profitable, the gov't Still wouldn't get their "investment" back.

2. The company’s backers include private investors who have diverse political interests.
3. The loan represents just 1.3% of the Department of Energy’s overall loan portfolio. To date, it’s the ONLY one that has failed.
