@hazardousduck007 check out my video "shady trail" that starts by Sunset and Main ave., look on google. Go counter-clockwise there are about three options for trails at that point! Look out for horsies, too
The reason it is currently called "the rabbit hole" by many was because we could not use "the panty trail" in the Cyclebration advertising... sorry Dan if we corrupted your local lore ;-)
We stuck the white rabbit on the spot where you duck under the tree and the bottom drops out from under you. We did that on the first CB race... and well the name stuck I guess.
That trail was built buy the great Dan Jones in 2004 and I just cleared out all of the blackberry vines last month. Some one started calling it the rabbit hole for no reason. The trail's trues name is the "panty trail" because he found a pair of panties in the middle section of the trail when he was cutting it in. Give respect where the respect is due.
@williamf777 Thanks for helping with the trailwork! The blackberries are definitely cleared out in there. I started calling it the rabbit hole at the first cyclebration, they had it as an option on the MTB time trial, and there was white rabbit on the tree indicating this. I think for the name 'Panty Trail' to stick, there should be some panties nailed to the tree so it becomes part of local lore, like the mickey mouse statue at the end of Salmon Falls. im going today to lake natoma and i only know one loop so im going to look for other trails...do they exist?
