Are miniature schnauzers barking dogs? And does anyone know if female dogs are quieter than male dogs because I'm getting a puppy (my mom doesn't want a barking dog) and I really wanted a miniature schnauzer so should I get a male or female?

4 years ago i had a female and i remember she was a lot quieter than my new baby male dog! but i love him anyway and they don't bark often..rarely. my dog barks whe the door is open and when he stays alone in the house T_T.

Be aware that Schnauzers need a lot of jogging, walking or playing. So something to tire them. They're energetic. Males will quite surely bark a lot (after all, they're energetic, loyal and quite dominant, they want to protect their keepers and their places).

But if you spend enough time with them, and still keep hard (YOU have to be the dominant one), than they're just perfect, Schnauzers have very good attributes!
