• Hm, this video is pretty good, I'm gonna read the commen-

    ... *scrolls back up*

  • Awesome drawing! you are great!

Whats the name of the song? thanks

  • @GaGaKiller2 I know that you commented 3 months ago but the name of the song is Moonlight Sonata :)

  • very beautiful painting it was!! thank you.

  • don't like the hair that sticks out, but otherwise it looks great

  • this is awsom thx i hav problems with drawing guys eyes always get femine some how sadly for me but great vid and modshin is awsom

  • very nice

  • moooooonlight sonataa!! XD I love that

  • Can You Please Make One On How To Draw Hair? --Thanks -Juliana

  • Will I be able to do this on Paint?

  • ooo sonata moonlight

  • nice music man also nice drawing

  • People who draw portraits I find to be amazing but boring. It shows that your good at being a copy machine. To draw something from your imagination is talent. Who can create something new that has already been invented?

  • @IonDeity :/ I kind of think like that. I like to draw only people i like and know, but when i think in drawing a famous person or someone i dont know i just dont feel motivated.

    :~ That's why i like Anime + Manga too.

  • Imma go ahead an' say it an' hope no1 else said it. Dat almost look like Paul Phoenix from Tekken.

  • the hair is stupid

  • @jigex20 gotta agree with you ... not stupid ... but lets say ... the hair ruins the impressive work a bit ...

  • i really LIKE your drawling but what i like the most is the music it i wuold really like for u to tell me the name of the song

  • @nevonle This is Beethoven "Mondscheinsonate" or Moonlight Sonata :)

  • if your doing this with a mouse grats id need a tablet forsure

  • did you draw on paper first then scanned it and traced it on the computer?

  • moonlight sonata. nice :-)

  • Looks a bit like Kaidan from Mass Effect. Im just saying.

The drawing is VERY good. The details are amazing. Just a question. What music do you listen to when you draw? If you do?

I watchs both of the videos and the music choice is nice.

    Kudos to you :]

  • i´m drawing him too...

  • it is Colin Farrel...??

  • Comment removed

  • SO... diamonddonut... why didnt u let the whole world know that drawing became a science? It's fuck heads like u who stick to the status quo and never go beyond what's b4 ur eyes!

  • great

  • Whats The Name Of The Song?

  • @TWScom moonlight sonata

  • First i thought he was elvis, then that guy from high school musical, then i thought he was wolverine from X-men ^^. Great picture!!! You got real talent! Use it!!

  • hello what you name cancion

  • moonlight sonata - bethoven

  • the hair thingy on the top left corner looks weird

  • the lips are to low!!!, but its nice

  • Faces looks different though. o:

  • the nose looks amazing

  • Wow, this looks so much like paul johansson :O

  • his mouth is too low, the measurements aren't quite well.

  • hmmmm...do you have a degree in anatomy. just wondering

  • nop, but you have to master the anatomy for artist to master the portrait were it's the toughest creature to draw after horses.

  • Ima have to jump in here and say: You dont need to know crap about anatomy do draw a portrait. Your job is to copy whatever is on the picture into a blank piece of paper. you dont need to know what it is, you dont need to know why is it like that, all you do is copy shapes, match the values, done, instant portrait.

Now to draw something from your head, THATs when you need to know your stuff.

  • and i'm not getting EXACTLY what will you do with the portrait you are talking about. isn't there cameras that can do the whole job. the artist is the one who draw from his own head not to copy. even children can copy using transperant papers.

  • @Mik3River4 actually mik3river4 even michelango and ancient renicanse artists studied anatomy to draw. sure, you dont need to know the science part. but to understand how things flex, how things look in motion its very important for drawing yet thats for very very advanced artists

  • @Mik3River4

Wrong. You need anatomy to understand what's going on, even when you're drawing from life. Of course, it's possible to just draw what you see, but if you don't understand what you're drawing, the bones that show through the skin, the muscles that define the volume, you'll never get an accurate drawing.

When you draw an eye, you need to know that it lies in the socket, it's not a flat shape, it's a 3 dimensional form, you can only understand that when you know how the skull looks.

  • @Mik3River4 way way easier to spot the shapes and forms, if you know what your actually drawing.

  • @Mik3River4 Yes, drawing is about reproducing exactly the lines you see. Not about recognizing objects as a whole and then drawing. Like, you're not drawing a nose, you're drawing curves and shadows.

  • @Mik3River4 ]

    NO BULLSHIT!

  • @Mik3River4

Absolutely not true. If you're copying a picture then your copying a picture. It has nothing to do with it being a portrait. It could be a portrait, a building, or anything else. If you wanted to draw an ORIGINAL portrait of a real person you could do it without exactly copying a single photo and instead collect references creating your own image using the person's features. But you'd need to know structural and figure drawing to do that.

  • @Mik3River4 dude you are so wrong. how do you plan to actually draw the shape without knowledge of wether it should be there or not.

when you draw you have to know if you need to include certain parts in there or not, and why.

  • @blackblaze1996 It is not up to you weather a shape in the reference photo should go in your drawing. Everything in the photo goes in the drawing as it is. When you start manipulating your drawing the way you THINK it should be instead of what you see in the photo whats when it all goes down hill.

  • @Mik3River4 FUCK YEAH MAN! TELL EM... THAT'S WHAT'S UP!

  • @Mik3River4 however, having a knowledge about anatomy definitly HELPS ALOT when drawing/(insert other media here)

  • @Mik3River4 I happen to like this picture very stylized and the the proportions are nothing to cry about when it comes to a pseudo realistic character head.this isnt a photo realistic drawing it is a character looks to me like the ears are at the right height with the eyes and nose a bit far in the depth area but nothing to absolutely lose sleep over or really pick apart this video i think the drawing was done well and didnt deserve ur crap

  • hmm...you dont have to master anatomy...you just hve to know the anatomical "POSITION"...n.n

  • It's a drawing, just like in life nothing is never perfect. In my opinion and seeing many others this artwork captures great realistic images of real life activity. Well im no art critic, just an art fan myself. But since your world well is so beautiful and full of perfectly straight lines then show me some photos because, i do say the contrariety in my world. :)

  • umm.. dunno what you getting at,, but umm ..... not interested.

  • you kept saying how off the lips were, i was basically stating the fact that humans ARE NOT PERFECT.

artwork or real life itself. nothing is perfect.

so dont expect human DRAWINGS to be that way.

    k thanks?

otherwise this is a great picture diamonddonut

  • oh, then we gonna go over the subject again, the guy who draws should learn the foundation of human anatomy for artist to prevent the mistakes of drawing, it's like drawing an alien or retarded figure, each character needs to be at least according to the standards of drawing. this photo is good though but the lines are missing or placed other place than it should be.

  • so basically what your saying in drawing anatomy that EVERY human has to be perfect?

ahh i get it now thanks.

    righttt :P

  • it's just like "i wanna argue but i don't know how or why", i don't even know why i'm replying back to you!!. enough said.

  • Oh and of course, your videos OBVIOUSLY display mastery of anatomy much more than this man/woman's here.

  • Hmmm Let's see you try?

  • the human body IS perfect, Da Vinci studies that in is famous drawing

  • @NogoodbadAlex completely agree, I remember having a life drawing model who was out of 'ideal' proportion himself, even the most talented students in the class would draw him and he would still look 'wrong'

  • @NogoodbadAlex You just said everything! When i draw realistic faces people always complain about something like "the eyes are a little big" or "the square is kind of jaw"

BUT MAN, human are all different and unperfect! OO"

  • @NogoodbadAlex hehe "diamonddonut" *applause*

  • lol

  • ITS RAMBO!!

  • Lol amazing drawing! I always seem to draw better when I detail the eyes last, because it seems like I get weirded out when drawing the face if I feel like it's staring at me ... Idk, I just noticed I draw differently before and after the eyes are detailed... =(

  • hey i really like this. music is quite captivating as well. good vid man keep it up.

Dont forget t check out my work

  • i love how it feels like he's staring down at you!!! and the music is good to and this style i know XD keep up the awesome work.

  • very nice ...marvelous!!!!!!!!! wish i could have that Painter Camtasia Studio Wacom Tablet

  • it's not 1 thing xD

Painter is a program to draw

Camstasia Studio is a program to record things

an a wacom tablet is a tablet to draw on :)

  • hahahah you look pretty smart here xD

on anyhow, do you have this program to record things??

    Well done.

  • I would LOVE to see you do better asswipe, but damn, this is amazing, way better than me

  • love the music ;)

  • that man looks like horse with his beard

  • Yeah I'd have to agree but the skill is definitely there.

  • Ive seen this the first time, I think about two years ago.

And I was so amazed, that I, without knowing, kinda adopted parts of ur style. Its really kinda spooky how I now realize how much Im inspired by ur art, even though I havent seen this for a quite long time. Of course Im not that good, but I have to say, watching this video was a very important inspiration for me and still is :)

  • sik

  • Just out of curosity how many sketches do you go through before the whole pic is done?

  • jealous much, im a good drawer, but i couldnt draw for that long and do so well,

  • what kind of brush did he use cuz i didnt recognize what that was?

  • man how awsome at that!

  • if i saw a that guy on the street look at me like that i'd run for my life

  • the music in the background is fantaisie impromptru from chopin.

  • if you havent got anything good to say then piss off, his drawing is great and he aint a random person who goes around saying everyones shit like you.

  • if you havent got anything good to say then piss off, his drawing is great and he aint a random person who goes around saying everyones shit like you.

  • Yeah. He's busy drawing.

  • your work is very COOL.

  • i really love the way you draw and by the way the song really made me injoy the video can someone tell what its name ?

  • Wonderful. Thank you very much for sharing. All your videos are great inspiration. You rock man...

  • Would have been nice if you'd drawn Chopin...would have synchronized well with the music.

  • What's the name of this song? I love it. :)

  • Fantasie Impromptu by Chopin

  • all these guidelines are just that. suggestions and generalities. NOTHING will replace actually drawing REAL people (your friends, yourself, family) of all ages and body types to help you draw the figure and face. You must have a good foundation to fully employ the guidelines and create satisfying art

  • dude thats awesome but if u could send me some pointers on the distance between eyes nose and mouth etc. that would be great

  • I learned at school that the eyes are (if the head is 10 cm high)at 5 cm, nose ends at 2.5 cm, and the mounds bottom is at 1.25, each eye is 1 / 5 from the width, with 1/ 5 between them, ears go from 5 cm to 2.5 cm, that's what I remember, hope you can use it, and that it is correct

  • wow, i should write that down

  • I remember going to one art school, just to do live figure drawing, and the teacher wanted everyone to pull out rulers and create an ornate grid to learn how to draw a human head. There are proportions between each feature, but if you get hooked up on math, you'll loose out on that indescribable magic of natural, interesting renderings and end up with robots.

  • You should do a tutorial on how to maintain consistency between your faces; that's my biggest problem right now. Regards, Sycra

  • you should work in disney

  • disney goes another painting style + i (personally) dont like theyre style lol :P, sycra is to good for disney! sycra should start a solo project and get rich then buy youtube and bann gatosaenz for saying that :P

  • AWSOME!!

  • he looks like zac efron sorta in the beginning to me~ anyway, i though it was boring, so i only watched like 10 secs of it...

  • wow!

    That guy is hot! :P

no, seriously, he looks hot ♥!

  • awesome if you can teach me id be glad like pointers where to beginne and how to do the difference btw eyes nose mouth hair eres and other stuff. Nice drawing by the way.

  • sweet drawing dude. u got real talent. what was the music u had on? really added to the atmosphere

  • Bravo! *Claps.* Amazing detail. I'm not saying this in some kind of slutty way, but, if a person really looked like that, they would be hot! The only comment I have is that there was a little too much stubble on his chin. Overall, this is amzing. 5/5 stars!

  • Nice, thanks for uploading.

  • I have a question : Did y have a model or a picture ( or maybe even a mirror) or did y make a face using your imagination only? I would personaly like to see some tutorial on people interacting 'cause its kinda harder to draw. Keep up the good work Sycra.

  • Made with imagination only, but that's cuz I've already put in a lot of time ( and I still do ) drawing from mirrors and stuff.

  • U really are so enjoyable to watch. Im 16 and Im an aspiring artist and u are my role model, thanx

  • is there a part 3 to this?

  • jesus tap dancing christ

  • wow he looks very cute ^_- ahem i mean good scetch how old are you and how long have you been doing this

  • finally sombody who can draw. and it's not anime! i thank thee.

  • what material did u use to draw directly to the computer?

    is it digitalizer?

  • For this I used Painter to draw in, a wacom tablet to draw with, and Camtasia Studio to record it all.

  • nice, it was awsome
