I own a X5 V8 (2008) and this thing just drove around me like I was standing still. Darn it, can't wait till next year, I see a trade in coming in my way....
I love this car. Funny thing is that I put a down payment on a used 2008 M35x a few months ago and the dealer blew the deal up by trying to hustle me into a extended warranty. Fate has now allowed me to look into buying a 2009 FX. I gotta have it!!!
Actually no other SUV looks as good as this one does. This Infiniti looks so huge and stuttering but it's also so nimble and agile to drive, just like a coupe. Perfect!
I am a high school teacher at a private school where every rich kid drives a BMW or pimped out car. However, my 1999 Ford Explorer has 190,000 miles on it and since 2005 I saved money. I drive the liquid platinum 2009 FX35 I bought last year. This "vehicle" is for people with taste and desire to think outside the box and 300 horses lets me get the hell out the box fast and my students give me an A+ for taste, but I always wanted an infiniti FX35 and now I own one and I F------ LOVE IT!
The term 'shiftable automatic' is way over used these days. Pretty much every automatic transmission made in the last 50 years is 'shiftable'. Does anyone know if it is truly a dual clutch gearbox, or just the everyday variety tiptronic?
He said the price of this car is 63.000$ and some of you are still complaining... well, here in Eastern Europe this car costs more than 121.000$ and your average salary is about 3x higher than ours. Do you guys STILL think it's expensive in U.S.?
I'm sure the engine's great and so is the quality, but I've heard the ride is VERY harsh. So on bad quality roads - which is a standard here - it will be extremely uncomfortable. That's why I probably wouldn't choose this car, even if I had the money.
I'm only working part time due to attending medical school and I'm in the process of signing a record deal so I'm only working like 8 hours a week due to school and vocal training with the label.
Infiniti might have set standards when it comes to sportcarsfeelings in an SUV. Yet Porsche Cayenne upped the ante for sportscar-feelings in an SUV since a few years and have yet to be surpassed.
I went to see the new FX a year ago, I asked the sales person is this better or cayenne? He said cayenne of course, u can't compete this with a German car! lol.
U know what, maybe ur right, the fx also has a better interior, cayenne 6year old interior is beginning to age, fx has a better navi, I've driven the cayenne turbo but never the fx, so no idea how it drives, just read people saying abt the harsh ride.
The FX sport definitely has a stiff ride on those 19" rims and rear visibility is another complaint about this car big blind spot and lastly very little cargo space in it's class. However I love the growling exhaust sounds and I'm referring to the older 2005-2007 model not the one being shown in this video.
What car do u own? I'd say the new fx also has rear visibility problems, which the cayenne does not. but when u look at the interior, fx is better, money factor, fx is better. fx ride is stiff, I've never driven 1, but cayenne was ok for me. Maybe I should test 1 fx to find out exactly how it feels.
I currently drive a 2004 Acura TL. Car is okay as far as what I paid for it you get decent performance and luxury. However biggest complaint is the handling feels very choppy and this car so desperately needs to be rear wheel drive. I'm looking to get a cross over particularly a used FX or X5. My friend has an 06 with the 18" rims and it rides okay.
he is just a sales men. They don't know shit and why would u compare the FX to an expensive cheyenne? The FX is better with all things equal and has better value.
the headlights somehow seem to be too small, and the whole shape of the car is to curved downwards, i don't like japanese styling in general except for honda.
Looks like a bloody frog, I would rather the x5 to this anyday although I hate suv's.... I am sure its a great car but the idea of a "sports car" suv?? I love my e90 m3 and I dont think this thing can compete with that. Cheers
Japan's making the best cars in the world now, value by value cent for cent the best bang for the buck cars.Esp for average Joes like myself,BMW and MB's were great back in the hey days but now their just too expensive junk cars to say the least lol,but japanese cars in d otherhand best quality lasts longer best durability n it's affordable. The FX 50 is a naturally aspirated engine but d X6 btw with its shitty style is a turbo n it doesnt even come close as far as performance. The winner is FX.
i have a german co worker and i askes him....which do you like beter german or japanese car...the answer was japanese...because of reliability...he said
i dont really like bmw's or mb's either, but you're forgetting about Germanies cheap vw's/audi's, and porsches which are pretty nice but expensive for the average person.
I wouldnt expect an honest answer from a guy who has nissan written on his name but let me tell you this. The Infiniti feels cheap. The plastics and the inside interior doesn't give a sense of luxury you get from BMW or Merc. And as far as engine goes, the BMW makes far better engines that Nissan. I mean BMW has won so many prizes as best engine of the year for different types. Not to mention the F1 car BMW makes its a masterpiece. What the fuck has nissan done lately
this is very good car and i think its the best buy of SUV-s today..engines in both cars are very good,X6 is turbo charged but v8 in infinty is also very good..i drove both cars,X6 is so clasical like every other BMW but Fx is something very difirent..japanese are making huge progress in a car industry, take look of hondas vtec system 2 liter engine without turbo and you have 230 bhp..while i m driving right now 325i with v6 and less power..
I've driven and been in both and the infiniti was a lot more practical.
The x6 is a better vehical but I have no idea why they made it, I don't see what niche the x6 is meant to fill. While the x6 is much better quality it does not equal the sum of it's parts.
You got a point, but a Hyundai Santa Fe is not a Sports Crossover. Is based on a FWD platform, the normal Santa Fe is FWD, and the AWD version is front biased, meaning that most of the time all power is sent through the front axle. Engine is transversely mounted, showing it´s FWD origins. (evo X is an exception to this, as it is also transversely, but an EVO X is whole different story.) Now the FX and the X6 are transversely mounted, rear wheel drive crossovers, available with AWD.
So that means they have better weight distribution and handling characteristics. Although I prefer the BMW X6, an Infiniti FX is also a pretty slick deal.
5 golf bags, why is it that car companies always refer to how many "golf bags" their trunks or rear compartments will hold? I hate golf, don't see any sense in the game, other than to chase a ball around a huge yard, why not see how many gardeners the trunk will fit, since they groom the golf courses for these people that play golf. I don't understand, can someone explain this too me?
So you're saying to not go Infiniti because the FX50 is faster, handles better, has better instrument control, is far superior quality... That doesn't really make sense now does it! BMWs are nice but they really don't compare to Infiniti products when it comes to value or reliability.
@roadflytv I was wondering if roadfly can review the 2011 infiniti FX. I look through all your videos and even other review but i can't find it, i really love the fx, let me know, thnx.
@roadflytv I disagree with you. Nissan created the FX to fill their market gap for a performance SUV in order to compete with BMW. What I see is a lot of marketing and fake chrome, wood and pleather. Neither brand are about the true definition of quality. Sure they look good brand new, but after a few years they're worn out. If you want real quality and long lifespan out of an SUV try a G Wagon from Mercedes-Benz. And if you want performance AND quality, try a G55 AMG.
I used to inspect cars at an auction. Those fake wood panels on the doors were always cracked. The pleather wasn't as nice as the leather you'd see in some US luxury cars like Ford (even in the trucks), or even Mercs. I love Infiniti's desgin, feel of the drive, the sound of the engine and especially the exhaust. But for quality of material, it goes cheap. But the plastics are always better quality in Japanese cars. I still love these cars, minus the wood panel on the doors.
I wonder why they always seemed cracked on the driver's door. Must be from the door slamming. Maybe it's the wood. or maybe it's the stuff they coat it with.
@diamonddollarday german engineering isnt as good as japanese in reliability. Also the germans lose in sales to the japs. Consumer reports stated that german cars are becoming less and less reliable making them near reliable to american cars which are catching up
What the hell is that guy talking about I have a G37 and the navigation is fully touch screen capable. To me the new FX is more on the lines of the EX in size, but I do like the V8 engine option. The old FX sits higher.
once you buyn it you will love it, and f#uck gas prices. Thats just for the poor people, if you can't afford it don't buy it, just wait till you see it in thr streets
get your facts straight gas prices are soaring 1st due to booming foreign markets an 2nd due to a serious shortage of refineries (most refineries are operating at 90+ percent), so they cant keep up with the rising demand. Stop blaming the U.S. and start educating yourself.
Yes but producing vehicles that use exorbitant amounts of fuel will only exacerbate the fuel shortage and what you have said only shows the arrogance and contempt the US has for dwindling supplies! Already Europe is paying $2.50 a litre of fuel, and you Yanks complain when your fuel costs $2.50 a gallon. For your information 1 gallon = 4.2 litres. If you paid the true costs for your fuel I guarantee you would no longer be buying these fuel guzzling CO2 belching tanks!
Like I said do your research. The people that are buying these cars are Europeans, Middle Easterners and Chinese. Americans due to the weak dollar are rapidly becoming the minority for the luxury and SUV car market. The market for these vehicles have dropped by almost 6-7% every year since 2006. The reason your gas prices are considerably higher than the US is due to the Extreme taxation from the EU and your great UK Gov't. kthxbye!

Damn that looks pissed the fuck off. I don't entirely hate it, though. It's very unique, and that's good.

Gas is soaring because of demand from China and India due to an economic boom.

Another great fuel guzzler from Yankland, no wonder fuel prices are soaring!
Rowdyeh 3 years ago
get your facts straight gas prices are soaring 1st due to booming foreign markets an 2nd due to a serious shortage of refineries (most refineries are operating at 90+ percent), so they cant keep up with the rising demand.

The reason your gas prices are considerably higher than the US is due to the Extreme taxation from the EU and your great UK Gov't. kthxbye!

no in california its $4.25 and if im putting gas in the g35 its $4.80 gallon and the average for a gallon of gas in america is over $4
