Betsybear 2001 that are tabs strings 6-5-4-3-2-1 and numbers represent fret you are playing on every string x means muted, so you dont play that string or mute it so it doesn´t make a sound
I have to tell you guys, these are great exercises. I've been playing for 15 years and mostly taught myself. These exercises really help me fill in the gaps and take my playing up a lot. Thanks guys :^)
This is a great thing you're doing spreading the musical wealth, i'm bout a year into it ,hooked on music, hooked on your site, got a strat, lovin life....keep it coming..................Carlsbad.....SOCAL
What are the numbers under the chord name on your video? btw--love u guys just started and u have already taught me alot. I watch first w/out the guitar then 2nd time with it.
Yeah when I was first starting out barre chords were so difficult for me. This is an awesome exercise.
The only advice I would add to this is practice on an acoustic guitar if you can, that way when you're playing on electric it'll seem even easier! If you start out on those soft electric strings, when the time to play something acoustic comes your fingers might not have the strength..
Hi David, I've never seen your way to play that B major bar chord... Is your third finger pressing down all the first 4 strings, while your pinky is muting the first?
I usually take the 'A-major shape' up 2 frets and use my first finger to bar on the 2nd fret, but this one looks easier, especially on higher on the fretboard!
Yeah on the B chord mute the low E with the tip of your first finger and thne press down on the 4th fret with your 3rd finger - press the D,G, and B strings
You guys seem to really care about others learning the develop their dreams of playing and singing. I've seen a lot of straight-out teaching, but you guys really bring the next level (no pun intended) to the lesson by making the viewer feel your empathy. It's empathic reverb! I subscribed because I've spent the last 20 years trying to start learning guitar, but always get sidetracked by life (and lack of natural talent). You guys give me the belief that I can do it with teachers like you. Thanks!
What I like to do, if I know I am going from an Open E or open Emin to a E-Shape bar chord, is to use fingers 2,3,4 for the open E or 2,3 for the Emin.
great lesson! as usual! I have seen you playing some pretty cool fast stuff on a different video like scales i think and licks. Could you do a video on some of them things please?? Thanks!
really good as usual! ive seen you playing pretty fast with these kinda scale things and licks on a different video. could you please make a video showing something like that ? Thanks!
Hi - we have many intermediate and advanced lessons on our full on site at next level guitar dotcom. We also have some on youtube also. Take care and rock on!
David, is your fretboard scalloped or am I imagining that? Maybe it's just that the fret wire is so light colored compared to the board. Love the videos, keep them coming!
that sure is a chimey guitar. it sounds great. is there anything unusal in your setup (pickups, amp, strings)? more importantly, thank you for the video. this lesson is very helpful. instant favorite!
THta is a fender custom shop moto strat - has killer sound - texas special pickups and I was playing through the neck or middle pickups and running through a small fender champ 12 tube practice amp. Take care and rock on!
That's pretty brutal. Glad I really don't have a problem changing chords.
