Fred Gold sings Don't Let me Be Lonely Tonight--an original song, not James Taylor's--According to the experts, "he" sings with the "soulfulness of Elvis"..go listen. He aint' twenty-five, but he sure sings with lots of soul; he's on SoundClick, and unlike Elvis, Fred's STILL SINGIN' with Stormy Day Blues too. I am Lynda Faye and I support this advertisement!
WOW!! He is Breath taking...And his Voice Just Blows me away....No body could ever match Elvis with his voice he was absolutely Unique in every way....Always Jessie
Amen !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the best everrrrrrr simply put !!! its the voice that all other voices are judged by , its like a mecedes bens in an analergy the car all other cars are judged by ....................
Jackiej61too LM - Elvis' void is love, patience, and natural flexibility. His issue is loneliness. His quest and great potential - is sharing everything little simple thing about himself. A "PACE Salsa," overachiever, at times, he left peoples' feelings, by the way side. Did he avoid love? Maybe not altogether, but he avoided real fruits, of thy labor, a logical and creative balance, as a wholesome love? What's there to love, other than, two true opposite sexes sharing love, called human fear?
@inmann - you shook Elvis' hand - cool. I would be so nervous! I don't like a handshake too weak, or too, too strong. We, as people, are more fickle than we first think. Don't you agree?
Beautiful song sung by a beautiful singer. Also , i always loved hearing the backing singers on these type of elvis songs . In my opinion this song knocks todays ballads into kingdom come ! And its such a shame that these type of elvis songs , never got any radio time !
@gt25t Thanks ! Many elvis knockers just dont know these songs .They just come to his [[ obvious songs channels ]] and try to put him down. Sad , but many peoples knowledge of elvis presley , is no more than the Jailhouse Rocks , Hound dogs , The wonder of yous and the white jumpsuits !
I just proposed to my ex girlfriend and she said no. Elvis is one of the only things helping me stay away from the brink of sanity. I love you for that Elvis, rest in peace my friend, I know how much you suffered in life.
Agree with you glipzik. I always thought that quite a lot of elvis B sides were better than the A sides .Certainly thought RCA made a few errors on that score !
In my opinion, songs like this one,are just as much the epitome of presley ,as the obvious songs are. Thanks to the pathetic radio/tv media ,these type of presley songs have NEVER ,and will NEVER, get the air time they so richly deserve !!
The final print, I believe, has Elvis singing the song (solo guitar version) in the garage owned by Pat Buttram but don't know who he was singing to. This song should've been played over the main credits as the song WITC wasn't that good as an opener. WITC wasn't bad, just misplaced in the movie.
The acoustic solo performance of this song was filmed for the Wild In The Country movie, but didn't make the final print of the movie. I think a complete print of the song may exist in the 20th Century Fox archives, but I'm a little surprised that dvd versions of Elvis movies have never included deleted songs and scenes as bonus features or restored to the movie. There were a few movie songs filmed that were excluded from the movies and it would be nice to see them included in future editions.
It is available on Elvis Golden Records, Vol. 4, Command Performances-The Essential 60s Masters II, Elvis at the Movies, the Flaming Star/Wild in the Country/Follow That Dream soundtrack compilation, and Elvis: The Other Sides-Worldwide Gold Award Hits, which is where this version is from
Written by Bennie Benjamin and Sol Marcus. Elvis recorded it November 7, 1960 for the film Wild in the Country but it was cut from the final print. Two versions of the song were recorded: one for record release and a solo version. This is the record release. It reached #32 on Billboards Hot 100 chart during its five-week stay. It was the B-side to Surrender
This is such a very tremendous, overlooked and underrated song. This is one of hundreds of not well known treasures recorded by King Elvis. Elvis will always be the greatest singer, entertainer and phenomenon. Elvis will also always have the greatest voice and the greatest fans. This video was absolutely perfect in every way, 10 Stars as always Jackie.
