  • When you say you are on your fourth alternator, do they work then fail or the vehicle never charges? If never charging does the battery light come and go out after starting?

  • i am on my fourth alt. i have replaced the batt.,silinoid, and starter still alt.not working wat else might be wrong 96 ford ranger four cylinder checked all wire under the hood and all was good?

  • Awesome. Geico gecko does auto repair

  • If you have 0.5-0.6 volt drop the alternator must be working ok, check the wiring loom for bad connection, volt drop at any places where the loom joins eg starter motor etc

  • HI there. im testing my system because the car keeps cutting out, and when testing, the battery slowly loses V when all the elecs are put on. I have a new battery (and car still cuts out) and now tested the positive output from my alt to battery and my MM reads 0.5-0.6v. i see yours reads 0.09! you think i best change this charge cable or maybe just the alternator? it isnt rubber mounted so cant test the earth, she's a Vectra B, thanks!

  • It won't damaged the battery by overcharging, but you need to make sure the wiring can take 45amps more, it could overheat when under full load, you could run a extra cable from alternator output to your new lights.

  • if i put a 150 amp in place of my 105 amp alt will it kill my battery by over chargeing??? and if so how can i fix that? im putting about 520watts of off road lights onto my truck and need a alt that can handle it but those light wont always be on and i dont want to damage my battery, any tips?

  • Thanks for posting this comprehensive yet simple method of checking out the wiring and the alternator itself. I truly appreciate your video.
