  • I love you my angel Mambo. I was so lucky to have you. May you rest in peace.

    Love,

    Mommy. </3

  • Do seeing eye dogs have "play time"?

  • @MsKTMvalley yep they have play times, just like normal dogs do, but they arent allowed to play fetch, because as a working guide in the future, they will come across rolling balls on the floor, and may associate that to play time, they can swim though...

  • @CrazyForPianosGirl Oh the interesting, about the balls. I never thought of that. They need to maintain their seriousness during work time, but then they get play time later :)

  • I got a question though, how would the dog know where do the owner wants to go?

  • @theBlue123498 I'm not blind but i assume blind people have a sense of direction and know the area they live in.

  • You've really got to experience this process to truly appreciate it. I love these guys. They've changed my life. :)

  • Out of curiosity, why don't you teach the dogs to stop at the end of the stairs? I was taught to teach them to stop and the top and bottom.

  • i seen this guy who was blind once and he had a dog and he told the dog "find me a seat" and the fuckin dog did i was soo amazed thats the whole reason i looked this up coz i wanted to be amazed again

  • dogs are great. lol..

  • the best of these dogs is when there training are done they can leed any where the owner needs or wants to go

  • No, The owner tells the dog where to go. The dog just guides them around obstacles. some dogs do learn habitual routes, though, like to work or the grocery store.

  • Nice.

Well, I'm only visually impaired, so luckily I'd be able to see it anyways

    Thanks for responding

  • How do they clean dog poo up?

  • They are exempt from cleaning it up. I think the Council do it

  • No. They clean it up. They put the poop bag on their hand, they feel along the dog to where the poop comes out, and then feel around on the ground for the warm squishy stuff and pick it up. They are taught how during team training.

  • @RFDC07 Not necessarily. Not at all. It's like with any pet dog. You're expected to pick it up, even if you can't see it.

  • @thisyearsrent Hi, thanks for your response

I got accepted to train with a Guide Dog on 06/09 this year, so I'm really happy

  • @RFDC07 Congratulations! You've the right to be over the moon. :) The school and the trainers are excellent. Most life-changing process you'll ever go through, and at the end of it, you've got a furry friend that loves you no matter what. Again, congratulations. :)

  • @thisyearsrent Thank you very much - Have you got a Guide Dog?

Sorry it's taking me ages to respond by the way - I don't really use this account very much anymore lol, I have an account called Vlogzftw on YouTube which is the one I'm always on

    Thanks for responding

  • @RFDC07 I do have a dog guide, yep. And no worries. :) Happy to help.

  • @thisyearsrent Awesome, how long have you had him/her?

  • @RFDC07 Officially? A month and change. This is my second dog. I had her for almost four months, but things didn't work out.

  • @thisyearsrent Oh I'm sorry to hear that - How are you getting on with your second dog?

  • @RFDC07 Brillaintly! He's absolutely excellent. :)

  • @thisyearsrent Oh I'm so pleased for you - I'm going to be seeing my dog on Tuesday - I'm going to start training tomorrow, but we don't see the dogs until the second day, and I'm really looking forward to it

    Hope everything is OK

    - RFDC

  • @RFDC07 Thank you! And congratulations, that's so exciting! It's a life-changing experience! I graduate with my dog on Thursday. :) We're at opposite ends of the spectrum, but both experiences are so fulfilling and rewarding! :) Best of luck to you and your pooch. If you have any other questions or anything, feel free to reply. :)

  • really liked this vid - thanks for sharing

  • yay. my guide dog does the same thing on the up step and then look at me as if to say "have I don't good mum?"

  • wait...if you have a guide dog, you must be blind, right? How did you watch this video?

  • Not everyone who is blind is completely blind. Most blind people do have some vision.

  • what you said lol. yeah, i have tunnel vision in my right eye and none in my left. actually only 8% of visually impaired people are totally blind in the UK.

  • Not necessarily, it depends on the country were you live how VI you need to be to qualify. Some adults with autism have service dogs that do similar things for them because their brains don't process visual information properly, and these videos help owner trainers figure out how to train these kinds of things. Of course, a lot of people watching might just be curious.

  • YAY!! go Greg and Mambo!
