Great mod to the gun, nice job. I'd rather have the maverick to almost any other nerf gun, just because you have a bigger nerf gun doesn't mean it'll fire with any more power at all, in fact most of the bigger guns fire with less
Your gun is magnificent !! Just tell me if I got this right : you painted it gold and all and THEN added a top layer of black paint to make it look oldish . Am I right ? That's the exact same finish I wanna give to my gun, so I'd really really appriciate a little help here (yours looks perfect to me !) And you also said you added varnish so the paint doesn't scratch is that right ? Also, what color did you use for the base (first layer) ?
@6Jossiel6 Thanks. First I disassembled the gun and painted all the pieces the color that I wanted them(Bronze, copper, silver). Then I sprayed black paint onto a sponge and gently wiped it and smeared it in the cracks to make it look weathered. Then I sprayed the gun with clear spray paint to seal it and protect it from scratches.
Did u mad the inside so it will shoot better? If u wanna get real technical u can replace the entire inside with brass and itll shoot real nice. I recomend it, and u should make others. Like the nerf longstrike makes a good subject for modification
Hey, in your opinion, do steam-punk type guns or art schemes need to use brass and bronze and copper colors mostly or is silver and black along with those colors in the same zeitgeist?
your mod is very authentic looking, and I was wondering how you researched the look as far as color scheme. Do you just know what looks right?
@Darthmagnet Well Steampunk things usually have mostly copper and brass colors and pieces because that is what was used in the 1800's and Victorian era. I just looked at a lot of pictures of Steampunk stuff to get ideas on color. Also check out the Brass Goggles forum. They have lots of great steampunk stuff.
@Darthmagnet You could use black and silver in your colors, but that would kind of be along the lines of a gothic/steampunk style....I think, I don't really know much about steampunk.
