My old JRT was exactly like that, she was obsessed with lots of things!! ball, frisbee, water. She was a funny smart dog, that could escape from anything!
@myhorsesrocktheshow My girl is like that too. Especially soccer/basketballs.....she'll play with those for hours. Neighborhood kids love her because they can kick and roll the ball forever and she'll never get tired.
Wow!! this video is amazing. I wish i could teach my dog the tricks "dotty" learned. This dog is amazingly smart and seams very playful. Thumbs up if u agree!!!
She is 5 yrs apx. I got her at about a year old, which is when this was done. She is a rescue but definitely a full breed jack russell. There are always great JRT's that are up for adoption, but they always look very different: short hair, wire hair, longer legs, shorter legs. Difficult to tell when they are pups. They shed quite a bit so prepare yourself for that, but very smart and typically easy to train for tricks, but need obedience because they will try to take advantage of you!
I would say the best place to go is the JRTwebsite, you can google it. Also , I would say before you get a puppy to seriously consider rescuing a JRT. You save a dog, plus they are already housebroken and you know what they are going to look like! Dotty is the best!
sure, start with lay down and get that command down really well, then roll them over physically yourself and lots of praise with treats. For some reason if they are already laying down it is much easier to get them to rollover??
Hello again! saw that you sent a video to mee, but it dissapeared! But i have now added "Dotty" doing her tricks, to "my favourites" on my page!! Levi.
( i learned my to "roll over" before, but have not been doing it for a while, would bee fun to also learn my to "play dead"!)
i got a jack russell when i was young, she was born on september 11th 2001 b4 i knew the day she was born i named her angel kinda cool i guess xD

yes jrt r smart, but don't be confused with a Smooth or wire haired fox terrier...as well as Rat terriers. They look very similar to each other

my JRT Bridget is an asshole and won't listen to anything I tell her. She's too cute to shave her paw, but she owns the world.

cool! how did you train her to play dead? did you just point and say bang?
victoriax08 4 years ago
Just repetion, roll them on their back tell them they are good and give them treats. took about half hour. Jacks are really easy to train.
