  • i got a jack russell when i was young, she was born on september 11th 2001 b4 i knew the day she was born i named her angel kinda cool i guess xD

  • My old JRT was exactly like that, she was obsessed with lots of things!! ball, frisbee, water. She was a funny smart dog, that could escape from anything!

  • My year old fireball of a jack Penny is addicted to her tennis balls? anyone else have a Jack with OCD?

  • @myhorsesrocktheshow lol good sir they dont calm down untill they die

  • @myhorsesrocktheshow My girl is like that too. Especially soccer/basketballs.....she'll play with those for hours. Neighborhood kids love her because they can kick and roll the ball forever and she'll never get tired.

    Jacks are awesome.

  • Wow!! this video is amazing. I wish i could teach my dog the tricks "dotty" learned. This dog is amazingly smart and seams very playful. Thumbs up if u agree!!!

  • She is 5 yrs apx. I got her at about a year old, which is when this was done. She is a rescue but definitely a full breed jack russell. There are always great JRT's that are up for adoption, but they always look very different: short hair, wire hair, longer legs, shorter legs. Difficult to tell when they are pups. They shed quite a bit so prepare yourself for that, but very smart and typically easy to train for tricks, but need obedience because they will try to take advantage of you!

  • How old is she?

  • Thats cool. Any tips on how to train my JRT to play dead? She's 6 months old now, it's maybe to early ? If it is, i could still need some for later !

  • good dog!

  • My JRT Choco only sits and lies down, but how do u teach em roll over?

  • how adorable I have a 4 month old Jack Russell named Dottie as well. :]

  • aww soo cute !

  • Your dog is so smart ...

I might be getting a jack russell for chrismas ....

so im trying to find out as much as i can about them ...

do you have any tips for me ??

because i'v read that it is good to start training them when they are puppies

  • yes jrt r smart, but don't be confused with a Smooth or wire haired fox terrier...as well as Rat terriers. They look very similar to each other

  • I would say the best place to go is the JRTwebsite, you can google it. Also , I would say before you get a puppy to seriously consider rescuing a JRT. You save a dog, plus they are already housebroken and you know what they are going to look like! Dotty is the best!

  • @Lorraine3697 very smart dogs. high energy, very trainable. I have an 18 month old JR male, and he's amazing. Check out my videos of him. thanks

  • haha nice, mine wont roll over ive been trying for ages, she'll do all the other basic tricks. any tips?

  • sure, start with lay down and get that command down really well, then roll them over physically yourself and lots of praise with treats. For some reason if they are already laying down it is much easier to get them to rollover??

  • sweat jrt almost as good as kima and ginger your get there like the bang

  • Ha Ha!!

  • I need to teach MY JRT the "band trick"

  • It's not hard, but it's "bang" like I shot her! It's hard to hear.

  • play dead! so Cute!

  • Thanks

  • awesome dog! thanks for posting!

  • Thank you

  • Bang. lol

  • Sooooo cute!

  • my JRT Bridget is an asshole and won't listen to anything I tell her. She's too cute to shave her paw, but she owns the world.

  • so smart! i agree they are easy to train :)

  • lol, i've taught my JRT the "bang" trick too xD

  • Dotty is a smartie!

I've have so much fun with my Jack Russell - Stella, I bet you do too with Dotty.

    belinda

  • cool! how did you train her to play dead? did you just point and say bang?

  • Just repetion, roll them on their back tell them they are good and give them treats. took about half hour. Jacks are really easy to train.

  • wow... what an awesome JRT.. My silly Waffles is too stubborn to bother.. :) Great Job with your Doggie :D

  • Hello again! saw that you sent a video to mee, but it dissapeared! But i have now added "Dotty" doing her tricks, to "my favourites" on my page!! Levi.

( i learned my to "roll over" before, but have not been doing it for a while, would bee fun to also learn my to "play dead"!)

  • Thanks so much

  • Good training! I also have a rescued Jack, now six years old, go an look at her!!
