There may've been stories of WC beating MT but if you think about it WC looks appropriate enough to convincingly win against a MT with its trapping techniques and countering. There is proof Baji Tang Lang has won against Muay thais in Thailand, Martin while he did train in muay thai only to get used to the opponents stances he only used BajiTangLang when he fought and won in MT tournaments he has a trophy to prove it.

Bruce was fully rounded in both ground and striking, but he prefered the stand up, Helio was basically ground. Jeet Kune Do, which he founded in 1967 was not a traditional martial art, it was a system that worked on the use of different 'tools' for different situations. These situations are broken down into ranges (Kicking, Punching, Trapping, & Grappling), with techniques flowing smoothly between them. Way ahead of his time, and sounds a lot like MMA to me. His philosophy was using what works, discard what doesn't, that's exactly what MMA is today.
