  • Lee-Duh-Gaah the founder of MMA and more...aint that the truth but don't forget his brother Mas Oyama.

  • Bruce lee is so skinny and yet so stronng!

  • 2 ppl like chuck norris

  • Enter the Dragon...whogaaaa!

  • bruce lee is the father of mma even dana white said it himself

  • @toraryu00 dont associate bruce lee with those people

  • In Mortal Kombat ALWAYS have fatality like in the war

  • I prefer not to kill in MMA cause after every fight they shake hands... there's respect And there's no glory in watch people dying Bruce Lee was a good person and not had to kill to show that he was the best

  • But every good fighter has the power of kill but to me you don't have to kill to show that you are the best...

  • That's jiu-jitsu

If he wanted would be mortal kombat

  • technique are present earlier in Fist of Fury and don't belong to Bruce.Perhaps he was one of the firsts to put an armbar in a movie, but not in a fight.

  • many fights in ufc or mma were won with armbar, but what have this to do with Bruce.Armbar was known to greeks over 2500 years ago in Pankration (about 650BC), was used in Asia many many hundred years ago in jiujitsu. In the modern era was Vale Tudo and Gracies, and techniques like armbar or elbowlock, leglock or chockes were included. That was in the early 20-th century. Bruce himself learned such of techniques from Gene Lebell, and even in his movies, it isn't the first armbar shown. This...

  • hey trash talkers, you think Lee is fake? then MMA is fake. why i say this is in the UFC 119 hunt vs mccorkle, it was mccorkle's debut in the UFC and he won using this armbar. so what does that tell you, if armbar is fake then MMA is fake.

  • --ah, one more thing....i know that Bruce learned some grappling, specially from Gene Lebell, but that was pretty late and the time pretty short.Anyway until he died, he still was known as a striker and very few for grappling or combination striking-wrestling.

  • --about MMA...this MMA exist actually since ancient Greece that being the Pankration, which included all stuff (wrestling, striking---with fists, elbows-- kicking, kneeing and so on). They trained all assemble. In the modern era, the Vale Tudo started from 1920 (maybe earlyer) including also the mixture of striking and grappling.

--finally about Bruce: if you tell me that he was very good and extremely talented, i agree. If you insist that he was invincible...than whatever...let it so and peace.

  • measure and record the impact of a car which run with 45mph.He made that with a knee.

--i dont want to claim that MT would be unbeatable, ultimately is a stand up fighting (except Muay Boran, which today is rare thought) and against a good grappler with some experience in striking defence would be in trouble. That's why is MMA there. But is still one of the most effective striking system to be used with grappling and to train the entire package.I don't say is the only one.

  • there are indeed some sources to confirm what you say.

--About power...i dont deny Bruce's power , but wasnt the only one.As Example Apideh Sit Hirun used to break the arms or legs of his opponents with his kicks.Forearms ans shins are very very hard to be brocken, the bones usually. The bones are far more resistant than boards and bricks and the muscle protect them and absorb the shocks.Recently the Sport science made a test with a former MT champ. He brocked the sensors into a dummy supposed to

  • look at that armbar

  • ..some MT, and they found there a wanna be fighter for the junior, a fat lazy guy, a "fighter" that the young Osbourne can beat, and then can boast that he beat somebody in Thailand.So...videos or comparisons for advertising can be easy made. Once again...i dont want to claim the MT would be or would been (in the past) the most talented guys, or more talented than Bruce, but no one can convince me that you could match so a selection system, unless you be part of him.

  • tournaments. And again as said, that idea "outside the ring hes speed is untouchable" sound a bit strange. Than in the ring with all "illegal" techniques allowed would been he not as fast?So honestly, i trust in BL's capability's but i give almost full chance to the other one...your opinion could be different of course. --An alternative could be the Vale Tudo fighters (at that time also with all included). Ah, you know that Ozzy Ozbourne was in Thailand some years ago, his son practiced...

  • @vaggoner Have you seen videos of BL speed not even a slow motion camera could catch his speed he was as fast if not faster than a snake and just by performing the one inch punch on someone he greatly injured him like he had already been in a fight. There is no denying this Bruce Lee has legendary speed few martial artists could reach and his strength in his striking is powerful plus he trained in different styles CLF, Judo,Jujitsu, and other kung fu styles he has what it takes to beat a MT.

  • about CLF ot TKD or another style "beating" MT...today most of comparrisson are comic, useless, guys choosed from MT which have almost nothing to do with MT.Good MT you can see on Lumpini or fights between MT and Mynamar Lethwey. For Bruce Lee the late of "60 and the '70 would been the most proper enviroment to show what he can do (coz as i said , the rest are story's and speculations), a selection enviroment from 350 000 of rage fighters while in America at that time existed just points..

  • MT fighters legends of street fighting as well. Most of the good MT (and not the champions) had until 400 fights with "all inclusifv " (groin, head butts, soccer kicks, knee caps and many more). If you consider that a MT fighter generally was 10-12 years activ, that means over 30-40 fights per years, or 3 fights every months with breaking bones or how could i say.Fast hands (and legs) in the ring are fast outside the ring as well. Also traditional MT include throwing and grappling.

  • in a completely free enviroment would happen (including using the enviroment, using fights ability's and objects as well). It could happen, of course, everything.

--Now (starting from 2003) China beat Thailand in most of cases, but is't a bit strange why are there no common rules (still), i mean MT is more kickboxing in those competitions.

  • @vaggoner like I said before there were certain kung fu that could beat muay thai, Choy Lay Fut, Wing Chun, and Baji Tang Lang.

  • ...i never heard anywhere about such of a density. So the selection system was really rage.I have no doubt about BL ability's or speed or power, but however about your claim "the MT would not be able to block his punches" is exagerate.Let's say that everything could happen, but that selection system is the strongest criteria in my opinion.Benny Urquidez believed hes undefeatable, with 200 victory's under his belt but he lost to a lowerecelon of a MT fighter. I dont discuss here necessary what

  • @vaggoner A plain environment lik grassland or somewhere where you can't use objects in the fight. Bruce Lee's speed is nigh uncatcheable muay thais usually fight by attacking first making it easy for Bruce Lee to land a good hit, Bruce Lee can put people in the hospital if he fights full force if the one inch punch which is just a demontrating techniques he used to show people could injure a person what could make it any different. Plus Bruce Lee trains jujitsu and boxing.

  • if anyone thinks that bruce lee would last a round in the octagon with gsp doesnt know anything about fighting. fighters now have evolved so much in the last 5 years let alone 30. mma fighters are technical machines that would have him down and tapped out in one round.. its ridiculous to think other wise..sure he was good for his generation.. so was wilt chamberlain and carl lewis and babe ruth ...would they stand a chance against todays athletes no...man evolves ...which means so do fighters..

  • Bruce lee = best fighter in history.

  • experts, Karate masters, Kung Fu Iron palm experts were all demolished, big majority of them in the forst round or even from the first attack of MT fighter. If that would been not enough, next option would been the Muay Boran (all Lumpinee top fought there as well). An art designed for war (war, not street fight), deadly and raw. Honest to say starting with average level of there, Bruce would have no chance there, so dont do not rush to declare him unbeatable (even at his time).

  • @vaggoner what do you know about Bruce Lee you sound like you are underestimating his skills. If Bruce Lee fought a muay thai boxer outside the ring in a plain flat environment Bruce would win easily, Lee is too fast and his punches can send people to the hospital if hit hard enough muay thais can't block Bruce Lees fast and powerful punches.

Btw there have been Kung Fu that have beaten Muay Thais. Choy Lay Fut, Wing Chun, and BajiTanglang.

  • @SunWukong4 about CLF all i have foud are obscure sources and a declaration from Lee, something like "CLF is the only one KF style which travelled to Thailand and didn't lost.' .He didn't stated that CLF won, but i cannot find dates and names.

--About Lee vs MT...we can presume what we want, but wasnt proved.Basically the ideea is that even Bruce had a pretty limited comunity (of martial artist), sparring envoroment etc. But in 60-70 on Lumpini there were about 350 000 fighters ...

  • @vaggoner if youearch crane . 50 . mags there was one Master Lei Hung, who in 1961 fought bravely against Cambodian Muaythai fighters in Phnom Phenh. Why would Bruce Lee say it hadn't lost unless it's a draw but why would it get so much credit. IF that does not convince you then search google videos for choy lay fut beating a muay thai in a ring.

  • @SunWukong4 Yes, Bruce gave credit to CLF because was at least a draw. But what i said ge didn't stated that CLF won.It is remain as open supposision for everybody. But i think yes, at least a draw must been.About Wing Chun i never heard to beat MT.About '61 i didn't found yet, i read the page 6d from crane 50, but i take your word, perhaps it's about another page....anyway, believe me, guys like Apideh & co, later Samart, Dieselnoi, Sagat were very very fast as well and powerfull and most of

  • @vaggoner You know there is a google video of a CLF guy beating a MT guy. There may've been stories of WC beating MT but if you think about it WC looks appropriate enough to convincingly win against a MT with its trapping techniques and countering. There is proof Baji Tang Lang has won against Muay thais in Thailand, Martin while he did train in muay thai only to get used to the opponents stances he only used BajiTangLang when he fought and won in MT tournaments he has a trophy to prove it.

  • @SunWukong4 once again...i never ever heard about WC to beat Muay Thai.Particular cases in CLF could be.But think that Thailand NEVER brought his champions in any of his match ups.About crane 50 and other sources, you can find dates starting with 1958 until 1985, including 2 confrontations between Honk Kong Team and MT (5 matches each). In both cases the matches took 1 rounds, 2 from HK geting KO at the first changing of blows.About Baiji Tang Lang i promise you that i read more, perhaps ..

  • @vaggoner You should keep reading there is proof of bajitanglang winning muay thai tournaments and CLF did win there was one video in google videos showing a CLF beating a muay thai boxer.

  • And as last ideea, Bruce Lee had the occazion to prove his invincibility in '70 in Thailand. There were probably the best fighters in the world at that time.In Bangok on Lumpini there were about 350 000 professional, all with over 200 matches behind (many of them 400).And in MT until 1980 all was allowed (including groin in every form, head-butt, throwing the opponent and hit him to the ground and so on).All that China and Japan send between 1958 and 1983 lost badly.Kung Fu masters, Sanshou...

  • secrets" with biting and eye gouging or groin...until guys like MMA professional you have for sure disco clubs in your area. There are bodyguards which i guarantee, almost all come from combat disciplines (boxing, kickboxing, muay thai, wrestling, and of course, MMA).And i guarantee also willing to risk kicks in the "eggs" or finger in the eyes, that's theyr job.Check these assumptions with them and and tell us how was.

  • coz about some MMA fighters you can find references even on the streets.Chuck Lidell beaten 10 brawlers in a bar, Bas Rutten is a street fight legend, Lee Muray same thing, Overeem brothers not long time ago put in to the hospital 5 bounchers in less than 2 minutes (and yes, they used knives and bottles, Alistair was cut to the hand), Roger Huerta almost killed a brawler in few seconds, like he would been nothing, some weekends ago (and he is a lightweight). What i would say about "those big

  • dont stop a chocke, will be probably a tragedy. So dont compare the bullys and backyard "street fighters" with trained professional fighters because is ridiculous. An Overeem would finish quick Kimbo and his whole company (look how Kimbo lost in 8 seconds against a 4-th ar 5-th echelon fighter in UFC (Seth Petruzelli).Imagine that in his place would been Mauricio Rua or Cain Velasquez. And then, show us a video, a short footage with Lee fighting, to see against how many knives he fought.

  • ...About rules and competitions...there are rules in the ring, yes, that because the professional trained fighters are much much more powerfull that the "street fighters" you talked about. If a bully kick you to the ground that's an untrained and average man, you still can escape. If a guy like Alistair Overeem or Cro Cop kick you to the ground, he kills you instantly. In the ring his opponent would suffer probably huge damages. If the referee dont stop an armbar, the arm will be brocken, if he ..

  • grappling skills, not a guy with 2 years of mma practice against a goos and experienced striker.

  • floor amortized most of impact.Imagine that Couture will take the opponent down on the street, on the pavement. That means broken ribs, perhaps even spine destruction and internal injuries. And what you say when the grappler choose that during the take down to incline the head of the opponent to the asphalt (so the opponent to fall in the head). And dont think "he would not catch me".Yes, he will...All strikers found that in the mma ring or cage.I repeat, i talk about a good mma with good

  • and if you think that BJJ is unusual on the street ...let me laugh.A good grappler will be ALWAYS the most effective 1 to 1. Against multiple opponents he need striking skills as well. But a grappler master beat ALWAYS a very good striker even if the grappler has just basic in striking..Instead, for a very good stryker, having just basic in grappling will be not enough at all.Think about...when Couture make a take down, his opponent hit the ground with about 3 tone of force. But luckily the cage

  • last decades, but even when they were legal guess what...nobody has won with such of techniques. They used such of attacks, but the KO's by punches, kicks, elbows head or knees or the submissions and chokes have always decided the result. And Vale Tudo has begone in 1920, 20 years before Bruce was born.Bruce had a big impact over MA world for sure, big influence as well, but i think even if Bruce Lee had not been born, MMA still would have been what is know today as.

  • Bruce Lee is the REAL Ultimate street fighter, The MMA fighters are tournament fighters where you have a lot of rules to follow, while in street fighting, ANYTHING goes! Bruce Lee doesn't care how strong, tough or how big you are, he's gonna hurt you really bad or KILL YOU! While In MMA, the fighters put you in a submission hold or K.O. you out & the referee intervenes after that. There are NO referees in a street fight, either you kill or be killed! This was Bruce lee's World so he's Tougher!

  • Bruce Lee is dead 30 + years ago but STILL influences people, Fighters, Body builders to this day! The Gracies doesn't have this! My correction: NOT a living legend but still a true, Bona fide legend nonetheless. People will say if he or he's not the father of MMA BUT his style of fighting is freestyle: Unpredictable, Quick-thinking,"you don't even know what hit you" quick striker, & rigid uncompromising discipline.Tell the Gracie's that, & see if they have Bruce Lee's influence on everything!

  • i am bruce lee, let me teach you to use your mouth to suck on me, hi yah, whopper

  • i liked it when bruce did that crucifix/armbar move on sammo and the o.g. monk 's eyes kind of lit up like "damn..that dude is badass"

  • Yea Dude Bruce Lee beat the shit out of this japanese Roy Nelson

  • I love Bruce Lee..... He never wanted to create a new style but just wanted people to relise the commonality of hand to hand was more important than its differences. The underlying principle of being are the same. Master Bustillo has stated that all MMa competitors use JKD. I've heard that he wanted to spread JKD and have matches.

  • helio said ``who is bruce lee? before he start to practice martial arts i was fighting in MMA`` and look the opinion of bas rutten about him... dotn forget , bruce lee was a actor,

  • @axtur32 Bruce Lee was a martial artist first and foremost, then an actor, I respect Helio, but he wasn't any where near Bruce's speed, power, talent and over all skill. Bruce was fully rounded in both ground and striking, but he prefered the stand up, Helio was basically ground. The movies highlight only one aspect of Bruce's ability, there was so much more to him than what was filmed.

  • @bottlebrusher yes, its true he was martil arts teacher, ok. but where you find bruce have mroe talent to HELIO? helio styles destroy all anothers styles of fhigt, and every one change his style and his trainig cos helio, ok? where you been bruce power and speed? on his movies? steven seagal looks so nice warrior on his movies too....

  • @axtur32 Bruce Lee had no style, he took the effective techniques from many styles, Bruce was multi dimensional, stand up and ground, Helio, was basically one demonsional, ground, no desrespect to Helio, but Bruce was a fully rounded, complete fighter. If it was the other way around, Helio being the better fighter, then it would be Helio who would be the prominent martial arts icon instead of Bruce. Martial arts exploded world wide because of Bruce Lee more than any other martial artist to date.

  • @bottlebrusher ok man. can you show me some vids where bruce lee show his skills? or his sparring? no way, just on movies, if you wanna, i can make my own video on my gym, and for sure i will look amazing fighter. ok? i told you, is like steven seagal, he looks awesome on his movies, . no one have seen bruce lee fighting , and i did practice his style, JKD, and have no all that you tell me, just ilttle more than WC, no more. everything about him is a legend, cos fanatics, but no more

  • @axtur32 "everything about him is legend cos fanatics", tell that to the martial artists and sports fighters who knew him and atest to his extraordinary abilities. You confirmed to me and others here your ignorance and bias towards Bruce Lee. I really doubt you truly practiced JKD, cause if you did you'd know it's not a "style" as you said. There may not be a lot of "vids" on BL mainly because he was not a sports fighter, a few though. Seagal is very good, in fact he was training Anderson Silva

  • @bottlebrusher i did training JKD with victor isidro, bruce lee student, that went on his funeral, ok? and i have seen dan inosanto jkd, is terrific .... you tell me, yes, bruce lee is good cos many peop0le say it... who? i met arjan sidyotong, and he speak so well, about the legendary fighters, and he dotn tell any about burce lee. do you know who is sir sidyotong? find it. he is truly legend, ok? seagal training silva?jeje i have seen, man is a tv program, ok.ask to francis fong about seagal

  • @axtur32 why don't you go create your own vids for youtube so you can teach us and enlighten us "fanatics" with your impressive wisdom, knowledge, connections and deadly martial arts skill to us mere nobodies and misinformed souls? Maybe you're the next martial arts icon ready to be discovered and dethrone Bruce Lee.

  • @bottlebrusher thanks but not, im no one. just simple man. and like me, i think everyone is same, bruce lee too. and martial art icon, is bruce lee, cos his MOVIES. not fight, ok?

  • @axtur32 also, show me a vid where you are training with victor isidro, show me a vid where you are seeing dan inosanto jkd, show me a vid where you are meeting arjan sidyotong talking about legendary fighters and not mentioning Bruce Lee, show me a vid, show me a vid, show me a vid...

  • @bottlebrusher i have no vids to public, i m simple martial arts player. not master. im not who say many things about bruce but no one can see. if tomorrow i say MARK STEVEN(???) is the best martial art player but i cant prove it, you will believe me? ....

  • @bottlebrusher find at internet soemthing about SIFU adriano emperado or ed parkers and them opinion about bruce lee.... or watch in youtube to bas rutten speaking about bruce lee, or ask in thailand or myanmar about bruce.....

  • @axtur32 using your guide line, standards and attitude for proof about Bruce Lee, but now applied to you for what you stated about yourself, if you can't provide any videos or reliable witnesses, then what you claim of yourself must not be true

  • @bottlebrusher ok, done, no more speak, we are closed in our opinipon. just i have not to proof who im , you has to proof bruce lee was who you said, no more.... bye

  • @bottlebrusher

Thank You again for this comparison! This axtur32 FOOL is probably jealous of Bruce Lee. That Brazilian Jujitsu BS is completely Unusable in a real street fight! people keep forgetting that BL is a well rounded THINKING street fighter, every move he makes with you as an opponent is sizing you up first, finds your weaknesses then strikes you! BJJ is only for tournaments & show and that's pretty much it. BL achieved Immortality,The Gracies are just so-called MMA fighters. No Biggie

  • @joel750 The Gracie ) Royce is "just so-called" the Godfather of MMA...Watch the Ultimate Gracie...there are interviews and opinions from Data White and plenty of UFC fighters (among the history of UFC1,2,3,4,5, when UFC was INDEED no holds bared. Modern MMA was Vale Tudo, which until the last 3-4 decades was absolutely no hold barred.Groing, attack over eyes, even biting in the clinch, knee caps, kicking the opponent fall to the ground were legal. Eye gouging and biting was banned in the ...

  • @axtur32

Helio Gracie is nothing more than a Tournament Fighter in MMA, While Bruce Lee is a REAL street fighter. there's tons of rules when you fight in MMA, there are NO RULES in street fighting. You cannot be killed on a tournament fight: You're DEAD in a Real street fight real quick by your opponent's knives, steel pipe or a gun. Helio Gracie is just another MMA fighter & No biggie, Bruce Lee Achieved fame, admiration, inspiration, respect, lessons. legend & Immortality, BIG Difference!

  • @axtur32 Do you ever watch videos of Bruce Lee's speed and power. Once he just did the one inch punch on karate instructer Bob Baker and hurt him so badly he had to stay home from work, Bruce lee performed the unstoppable punch on world karate champion Vic Moore who could not block any of the punches. Go search videos around here because they are everywhere before saying he's a movie star which shows your ignorance.

  • @bottlebrusher

Thank You!!! I couldn't state this clear enough :D

  • If this Move doesn't convince you (Bruce Lee's arm bar submission move) That Bruce Lee is not only the father of modern MMA BUT also the inventor of it, ..then you have got to be world's biggest idiot or Fool. The majority of today's MMA fighters to this day are still being influence by Bruce Lee. Even body builders look up to him, his training regiment and all.

  • @joel750 SO TRUE...

  • @joel750 true... although the arm bar wasn't quite right....But He definitely put MMA on the main stream map. I don't know how he would tak e it watching now..He would Like it...but he would still be a True Lover of...the Pure FIght ..no rules.. etc.. He promoted eye gouging...biting...groin kicking...etc. Makes sense. Its a whole new Fight when you think ur life is literally on the line.

  • @siestakeyboi

Thank You! People keep forgetting that in a REAL street fight, you could and CAN be KILLED! Bruce Lee advised to NEVER go down and be grappled coz in a real street fight, you're a DEAD Man! He's always upright hitting, striking, thinking, moving rapidly & trying to gain an edge over his opponent before they figure him out. that's JKD. You can't gouge eyes, bite, kick someone's groin, bite their ears in MMA for there are referees watching every move you make & they call the shots!

  • @joel750 okay first of all YOU are the idiot.

you have no idea how mma started. bruce lee had 0% to do with it. The gracies are the godfathers of mma! they organized ufc 1! did u know that if royce didnt win ufc 1, there wouldnt have been ufc2 ? no.

they mixed it up with their jiu jitsu grappling. yes, armbars, chokes etc. have been existing already way before bruce lees time.

he was the godfather of jeet kune do, he influenced the history of mma and ufc as much as he would have never been.

  • @CarlitoJohnson No, you ARE the ignorant AND Idiot! The Gracies didn't even existed when Bruce Lee was around! And besides, you CAN'T use that Jiu Jitsu BS on a real time, REAL life fighting! Who does that Gracie BS style of fighting "Put him into a submission hold" when you're fighting 4 or 5 people all of the same Time!? Are you even kidding me or you're THAT ignorant? Bruce Lee could fight 4 or more people using only his speed & his style JKD, kick your asses & walk away w/o sweating!

  • @CarlitoJohnson

And Besides, Bruce Lee's style of fighting all can use it for it's called "Freestyle" fighting. Flow like water what he used to say. You don't know what he's gonna do: You make a wrong move, you're going DOWN & he'll make sure that you're not getting up anytime soon. The Gracies are not really known as thinking fighters unlike Bruce Lee, dead but still a True Bona fide living legend. The gracies are old, & their style of fighting are old as well as predictable not Bruce Lee!

  • @CarlitoJohnson if joel750 an idiot (which he's not) then you are a dumbass. Dana White president of UFC even said Bruce Lee was the godfather of MMA because Bruce Lee brought out the concept of mixing martial arts throughout the world the gracies simply put in the most effective grappling art into the mix.

  • @SunWukong4 ok look. bruce lee had no influence on mma, you just dont get shit in history. he has first of all never proposed a sport like that, jeet kune do is a martial art.

they might say it, but that doesnt mean they have studied bruce lee and his books and concepts etc. yes, they are similar to mma, bruce lee did indeed propose a fighting system LIKE that, but the gracies were 100% of the reason UFC 1 took place, they didnt want to mix, they wanted to prove jiu jitsu.

  • @CarlitoJohnson In Enter The Dragon Bruce Lee showed gloves resembling MMA gloves and fought just like what MMA fighters would do today. While Gracie and Ken Shamrock did popularize MMA Bruce Lee was the first to put mixing martial arts into the world and many martial artists back then didn't want to go with the concept of mixing until Royce Gracie and Ken Shamrock came in. Bruce Lees concept has proven to take effect Royce couldn't just use BJJ only anymore now that fighters have evolved.

  • @SunWukong4 in the enter the dragon bruce lee shows a lot of elements of mma

yet, those gloves werent his invention

im not saying he wasnt doing combative sports close to mma, im just saying, that he had no influence on the foundation of the ufc, and the start of mma.

nobody started it because they wanted to test bruce lee's fighting system.

the gracies are teh godfathers of mma! they arranged it, they wanted to prove their system. they werent influenced by bruce lee what so ever.

  • @CarlitoJohnson Bruce Lee was the first martial artist to actually bring the concept of MMA throughout the world the Gracies were the second. Maybe modern day wasn't influenced by bruce lee but Bruce was the first to show it into the world that is what makes him the father of MMA he brought it out first the gracies may've done vale tudo competitions but they weren't as recognized for mixing as much as JKD was BL was the first to show mixing various styles after that the Gracies took over.

  • @joel750 I agree. Absolutely. Especially to the level of physical fitness. Modern MMA fighters are striving to be as fit, as skilled, and as diverse as Bruce Lee. Though I would love to see someone actually as fast, strong, AND skilled as Bruce Lee in the Ring.

  • @superawesomejeff

There could be only ONE Bruce Lee & he became Martial Arts! Most Athlete that are so good became their like Michael Jordan = Basketball, Wayne Gretzky = Ice Hockey, Tiger Woods = Golf. But sadly, He left us too soon :( Apparently the world are not ready for Bruce Lee, And HE was way ahead of his time from his training regiment, Nutrition, & Personal discipline. As of today, He will always be IMMORTAL for he left us a philosophy of what Martial.Arts is supposed to be Practiced.

  • @joel750 def man bruce lee is like the ali of mma.

  • @joel750 ...he's NOT THE INVENTOR OF MMA

  • @Lifter85 Bruce didn't get his status for nothing did he. Bruce brought jkd out which is much like mma and people have been following a similar concept.

  • What makes me laugh so hard is the fact so many people say "BRUCE LEE WAS IN MOVIES SO HE COULDNT FIGHT!!!" These people usually conveniently forget just how many great fighters of his time Bruce Lee didnt just beat, he DOMINATED. Bruce Lee was so fast in his movements, they had to slow the camera down to catch his shots. He hit so hard, his most powerful hits were compared to being hit by a car. A Hollywood fraud? Yeah right.

And Ali was just a bum on the street. Get real. Skill is SKILL.

  • @Nights1re he never beat any great fighters of his time. He never actually fought anyone. Your the purest example of how a little propaganda/myth can make an idiot believe things that arent even there.

  • @thecrazyoftheinsane Omg your totally RIGHT!!! I mean, three time boxing champion Gary Elms of Britian, knocked out in the third round by Bruce, or Uechi A Japanese Black belt he faced in Seattle and beat in near 11 seconds, NEVER existed!!! :D Gee willikers!!!!

Your the prime example of a person who does no research into a fighter, so they automatically jump on the bandwagon of saying "HERP A DERP HE WAS IN MOVIES HE CANT BE GOOD DERRPPP!!!" Lol, idiot. XD

  • @Nights1re Right on bro!

  • @thecrazyoftheinsane funny how you preach Pancrase a 1993 hybrid wrestling sport and compare it to someone who has been around until 20 years before Pancrase came into effect. as well as compare it to a hybrid martial arts that has been around and is still being practiced from 1967 to now.....

  • @Shanethefilmmaker pancrease was invented hundreds of years ago...its hilarious that you think bruce came before that.. haha idiots these days...

  • .....That "Actor" you are talking about did about every method of diet and exercise in health science as well as improved a few on his own to get his physique alone and he did it before you were a twinkle in your dad's eye and he came up with a way to appreciate the strengths of traditional martial arts and throw away the flaws and what did he get to show for it before he got famous? He was treated like crap by both sides of the world and people like you and he didn't get fame until after death.

  • @thecrazyoftheinsane oh and one more thing if he is such a fraud how come the people of hong kong treat him like a hero /watch?v=wXe-659SnXo

  • @Shanethefilmmaker so what? people in hong kong treated him like a god? how is that relevant at all? people in new york treated john gotti like a got... people in harlem treated frank lucas like a god... ect. ect... your argument has no relevance... bruce was a fraud... i admire his work ethic and some of his quotes are pretty solid but all in all he was no fighter... just a guy that made idiots like you believe he was superhuman...haha

  • Comment removed

  • @thecrazyoftheinsane Pancrease wasn't invented 100 years ago back then Martial arts were still dependent on their 1000 year styles and fixed positions. Yes there were people back then whom mixed one style after another but they didn't patent it as their own they simply kept it to themselves to get a better advantage to the traditional fighters it wasn't called anything. If anything Bruce simply brought it back for us by accident while searching for the perfect way of martial arts.

  • @Shanethefilmmaker your an idiot, look up ancient greek times and what martial art they use to practice... its called pancrease...haha this just gets funnier and funnier...your really an idiot!

  • Comment removed

  • @thecrazyoftheinsane @thecrazyoftheinsane First off its Pankration not pancrease, second its not a mixed martial arts in the greek times its wrestling just wrestling the kind the Greeks had since they first started the olympics, the kind they do in highschool competitions the kind that WWE has exageratted and fakeds for 50 fucking years now. who is the idiot.

  • @thecrazyoftheinsane this kind of info can be learned in the 5th fucking grade its so even a kid could tell you off.

  • @thecrazyoftheinsane haha this just gets funnier and funnier...your really an idiot!

  • @thecrazyoftheinsane and he is not superhuman he simply reached the peak of human training and conditioning one of the MAIN aspects in keeping a person healthy and strong. But its not just the muscles its the attitude, something you seem to lack in the positive style.

  • @thecrazyoftheinsane and I didn't say god I said hero, he was one of the few people in the history of the world that would do anything despite his race and views and that's what makes him a hero in hong kong because he earned the respect of the people there when in the 50s they woulda shafted him for his half german background. He also earned the respect of the western hemisphere do to being one of the first international legends since the people that discovered the west.

  • @thecrazyoftheinsane your a dumbass with no education I wonder if you got dropped on your head when you were a child because you are a whiney baby. If there is one person who is a hypnotized idiot it has to be you because us unlike you know what we're talking about as we know of Bruce Lee's fights and the reports and times of his fights in the streets of hong kong and the videos of him performing his feats.

  • you only have to see when this movie was made and when mma was started to show that bruce lee was first to do all this stuff.

even the gloves he designed him self look shit loads like the mma gloves and ufc gloves used today

  • kajukenbo coined the term mma

  • Bruce lee change the world that fcking why there mma today bish

  • bruce lee is the first founder of mixs martial art. Not any mma can't chance aginst bruce lee.

  • bruce lee is the first founder of mixs martial art. Not any mma can't chance aginst bruce lee. One inch Punch thier dead ahhahah

  • lol why argue do the action jkd vs. mma see wat happens...u could talk all day bro but to do it lol....lol

  • lmfao bruce lee was no fighter. he wasnt the father of mma either. Pancrase was, stop sucking bruces cock people, its ridiculous. Dana NEVER called bruce the father of mma, if he did dont you think he would atleast credit him with a poster on the gym on TUF? yes he would and he doesnt because bruce had no part in mma, you ignorant fucks are just too stupid to realize.

  • @thecrazyoftheinsane then why is bruce lee on the ufc website and why have they class him as the GID FATHER OF MMA lol thats comeing from the owner of the ufc lol so your point doesnt really matter does it when the people that made the ufc and mma class him as the god father lol pretty much set in stone now so wipe your tears from your face and face facts

  • @jimbob202019 typical responce from a stupid kid who just realized that he is too stupid to make anyone believe that some bullshit actor was the father of mma. haha you poor poor retard.

  • @thecrazyoftheinsane and who knows you ay mate, your mum? because im pretty sure your not ranked in the mma or ufc infact your probley too scared to get into a fight, you say bruce lee was a actor well i thought he was a boxer in his teens and held the hong kong champianships, do you even know how big hong kong is lol and all his fight records show all fights ended in k.o so for a teen to be knocking every one out and to be unbeaten shows stright away that hes more of a man then you will ever be

  • @thecrazyoftheinsane its funny because the worlds top fighters and sports men of the world support bruce lee and are huge fans of his like manny pacquiao thats been said to be pound for pound worlds top boxer,Bas Rutten thats held all of his fights in mma ufc

But a little spec of shit like you thinks he's something worth listening too when you know heart and soul that you could'nt fight your way out of a paper bag let alone give advise on who or what made mma what it is today lol.

  • @jimbob202019 lmfao another 3 stupid ass responses to counter my 1 and they still dont have any fact or credibility. lol so what if 2 people are fans of his, it doesn't change the fact that hes a fucking fraud. And all your attempts at insults are hilariously pathetic just like the "Hong Kong championships" bullshit which you didn't even spell properly even though its obvious that you tried so hard to match my intelligence. LMFAO try again retard.

  • @thecrazyoftheinsane its point less talking to you, i mean you havent rased ONE POINT, your like a fucking child i keep chucking info at you and you think its allllll a lie even though its on wiki and in books and on fucking t.v.

is their any point in talking to you, you have no idea about mma what so ever you got fucking match stick legs and a fucking cock nose, all you do is sit at home watchin van dam films and rapping your dads tie around your head acting out karate kid.

    PUSSY BITCH

  • @thecrazyoftheinsane Bruce Lee a Fraud?? hahaha! Bruce Lee is more real than the whole martial art industrie. The man trained hard and trained everyday. He was commited to his martial art. He was the first who was preaching to be allround. All great fighters in these not even back in the day, but right now as I type this. R great fans of Bruce and aknowledge his hart as a real fighter. You can easily see if someones a fraud or not, even in film. Bruce Lee deserves respect. and I respect him!

  • @minasz No he wasnt the first to preach to be all around. Even mas oyama (another fraud) was doing that before him. Pancrease was the first form of MMA and you have no fact to counter that. Bruce fans are just people who took a myth and blew it out of proportion...retards. He doesnt deserve respect, he was a conman. And he got you good. To bad your too stupid to realize it.

  • @thecrazyoftheinsane hahah funny boy you! telling me that im stupid. If you cant discuse something easy like this hahaha. Bruce's never said he invented a new style. So there goes your pancrease. Bruce was en still is bigger than you and me will ever be. Only I got respect! Im reading all your post and I think your a loud mouth. Whats your record?

  • @thecrazyoftheinsane now you're bashing mas oyama who actually sparred and koed people in the kumite and killed bulls in videos that can be shown right now. Dude you are not a martial artist at all you are too stupid to be one it is embarassing.

  • @thecrazyoftheinsane nobody want's to match your intellegence because frankly everyone who actually does research on Bruce Lee is far ahead of you infact it's like comparing your kindergarden level brain to a high school graduate. You don't even have anything to back up your stupid claims that Bruce Lee is a fraud infact when people who knew Bruce Lee talk to you they've already won and you keep saying he's a fraud over and over again like a dumbass. You seriously need to go back to school.

  • @thecrazyoftheinsane "Dana NEVER called bruce the father of mma"

OMG how fucking stupid can you get I think talking to you more and more is making you more of a dumbass please stop commenting you will end up losing your house XD

Go look up dana saying that about bruce lee dumbass you are so uneducated I bet your teachers wanto hit you so hard it's not funny.

  • Like watching WWE

  • caucazhin does not know Bruce lee's philosophy

  • this is a really patheticly staged fight seen..these guys would cry 4 their mothers 2 take them home in a real MMA fight......

  • @caucazhin u have no idea that without Bruce Lee,u cant see other top fighters in UFC,Strikforce..

  • like MMA, JKD has evolved and constantly changing just as how bruce lee wants to be......

formless art, style that has no styles

  • vale tudo and prankration were more of styles in my opinion, vale tudo was run by Gracies who emphazised more on BJJ which is a style and Pankration is more of Boxing and Wrestling, just 2 combination which is formed to become a style

but Bruce Lee did not like those ideas, he wanted people to realize to adopt their own styles and to be formless, he had many many many philosophies of explaining things

  • JKD and MMA have the same philosophies of bruce lee but different JKD is more of Bruce Lee's style for real combat, look at Tommy Carruther, one of the practioner of JKD, just strong and really really fast........ they just have different methods of teachings and stuff......

i believe Bruce Lee is the founder of MMA but he didnt invented but rather created the understanding of MMA through his philosophies and plus styles were dominating in his era, nobody heard of vale tudo or prankration

  • His using of "a MIX of techniques from different arts" is not MMA, it's CROSS TRAINING. MMA is the COMBAT sport. As for Lee popularizing MMA, the sport was brought to the US 20 years after his death, by Art Davie who was inspired by(and a student of) the Gracie's. Furthermore, the majority of US MMA fighters are in their mid to late 30s and thus not influenced by Lee because they would have never of been to his seminars.

    Bruce Lee:

Iconic M. Arts actor - Yes

Laid the foundation for MMA - No

  • @kschumannjr Of course he laid the foundation for MMA. Even Dana White calls Bruce Lee the Godfather of MMA. Bruces fighting techniques, along with his conditioning, training, and even down to his fighting gloves can all be seen in MMA today. At his time nobody was doing what he was doing. He was so far ahead of everyone else.

  • @dt089 Dana White also called Fedor "overrated and one-dimensional", do you believe that too? Bruce Lee's fighting gloves are just speed bag gloves, which have been around since the 40's. You are aware that there were no gloves worn in MMA until Tank Abbot started wearing sparring/speed bag gloves in the late 90's?

"Bruces fighting techniques, along with his conditioning, training...can all be seen in MMA today"

Are you saying Lee invented cross training? Prove it!
