I have one rainbow one and will never use any other kind of humidifier!!! Absolutely love it!!! Now going to buy one for my kids!!!

It actually works as a air purifier and humidifier. I have used one for years and we used it as a humidifier when our kids were sick and it worked great for that. What it does is recycle water around on the inside of the unit then pull the rooms air through that water and blow the air back into the room. Through that process moisture is added to the air (humidifier) and the air is cleaned as it passes through the water bath.

ok so is this a humidifier or an air purifier?? im really sick at the moment and the doc recommended i use a humidifier till i see a specialist. this product happens to be in my closet and would like to know if i can use this as a humidifier or if i need to go buy a new one. thank you!

Thanks for the comment :) Actually these water based air purifiers work a lot like Rainbow or Hyla or Thermax vacuum cleaners do. Its based on the idea that wet dust cant fly. Your room air is brought into the air purifier and runs over and through the water. Sure its not as effective as if you used a Air Purifier with HEPA filter but its still really effective, improves the smell of your air AND improves your humidity levels which can keep your skin from getting so dry.

They are not air purifiers that just regulate the humindity and put scents out
