  • Why does Navy need camouflage? I mean yeah the Navy SEALs need it but not regular Navy

  • @hisbelovedson because the other 200 year old uniforms are gay and redundant. Ever carried a navy seabag? it contains so many uniforms that look both ridiculous and old and they need to get rid of the cracker jacks too. The utilities wrinkle easy and on a ship during deployment coveralls are what is worn all the time. This uniforms eliminates both the coveralls and working uniform with something that actually makes sailors look like military so yes they need them.

  • @hisbelovedson SEALs are not the only men and women on the ground! The blue cammies are to to look less of a target on a ship when patroling slowly through the waters and when moored and standing watch we will blend in with colors of the ocean and the colors of the boats, ship etc. SEALs have many camo-uniforms depending on the mission.

  • @ronpaulforpots Ohh ok i didnt know that. But you said SEALs are not the only men and women on the ground?? There are no women in the SEALs.

  • I WISH THE MILITARY HAD MORE STYLISH APPAREL.

  • When did it ever become a requirment to wear cammies?

  • graduation navy uniform, the all white looks sharp

and the one this guy is wearin is sick

  • I love the new look. You can wear it off base too, try that with dungarees. As far as visibility it reduces the gravy profile on your blouse you fat fuck. As far as going over the side, the only thing visible would be your head anyway. Hey the chow line opened nut to butt!

  • Why not finish the PT uniform before rolling out anymore new uniforms? We are still, after years of being implimented, without a proper windbreaker or inclimate weather version. We still have to wear the cotton sweat pants and top. Once wet, they are useless, they hold the water and get soggy and weighted. Its hard to believe the Navy takes the PFA program so seriously but yet cannot create and issue proper PT gear.

  • I don't understand the concept of a blue camouflage. Do you want to be invisible in the water when you fall overboard?

  • @thawhiteflip

The blue camo is not a actually designed to camouflage YOU. Listen to the colors that they use. Haze grey, deck grey, blue and black. What are the most common colors we use on a Navy ship? Haze grey, deck grey, blue and black. It's designed to hide the most common stains so they can be maintained longer. Besides, it's not like the coveralls exactly stick out in the deep blue sea anyways.

  • god I hated this uniform when I lived on base

  • @MrCheesyPoofz Also recruits pay for their unoforms and issued gear. Its deducted from their paycheck.

  • @MrCheesyPoofz Thats bs. I been through all the uniform changes in the past 10 years. We had to buy every one. to

  • @usmc4742

It is for Navy Stupid! Not the Marines! NWU is digital blue is because of the ocean is blue stupid!

  • @SilentEagles Navy and Marines are apart of one another.....I thought this was common knowledge?

  • yep waste more tax payers money this is real cute now everyone looks the same hope that nobody ever falls off one of the ships you'll never spot them they blend so welll

from the old bell bottums to salt and peppers back to the bells and now this looks sick

  • @aeroliner750 Tax payers don't pay for uniforms. Service members have to buy their own uniforms. Someone is getting rich.

  • @Itsreload Actually, if it's a new uniform to them the service gives it to them. Like at Recruit Training they get all the uniforms they need, including these now. If you were already in the fleet before these were issued at RTC you got your first set free of charge, subsequent sets after that you had to pay for. Actually, the NWUs were issued to the fleet before new recuits (which made no sense to any of use, but whatever).

  • @markiesparkie11 tax payers have nothing to do with this. The sailors pay for their uniforms. This goes for all branches

  • I would think battleship gray would be a more appropriate camoflauge so you'll blend in with the ship. But then again, the vessel is the main target.

  • Big waste of money...how about one BDU/ACU for all branches? Different belts for E7 and above? The taxpayers are footing the bill for another bonndoggle.

  • Now everyone has their own BDU. Instead of one BDU for all with only patches to identify the solder, sailor/marine & airman, they choose to pick different patters so to make everyone feel special. This is just a waste of money, choose one, its cheaper to pay for one uniform and make different patches. Than to make each service a BDU and their traditional or service dress uniform.

  • i see there using the same belt...4;20

  • They should just wear a Camo that has to do with an actual environment. Bc this does nothing

  • p.s. Flight Deck and Underway Uniform for the additional win.

  • It's a good thing that you're wearing a float coat on exposed weatherdecks near the waterline isnt it. Strobe Light for the win. Thats how we find you when you go overboard.

  • I, personally, like this uniform as an urban style uniform. (It works surprisingly well in shadows and against pine tree bark, as well as on gravel) It, however, is kind of stupid to use this for the Navy uniform, unless Seals were to wear it (if someone goes overboard, good luck finding them)

  • I liked the NWU type III, it looks like marpat.

  • All of the new Navy uniform sucks, bottom line. They tried this shit back in the early 70's with the dress blues and it lasted about as lond as a fart in a whirlwind!

  • at least the air force isn't THE stupidest when it comes to useless ugly uniforms.

  • @anglicky69 LMAO TIGER STRIPES!!1! TIGER STRIPES!!1!

    Air Force still loses

  • why the heck would navy crewmen need camo uniforms ???

so no one would see you while you are overboard ???

what moron thought this would be a good idea

u want new uniforms ??? just use the army's old uniforms (or new ones)

  • @pele220 Are you suggesting they just wear plain solid color uniforms? You have to admit, the camo on these is pretty cool looking.

  • @scoogger44 they do but why create a uniform that looks like you are trying to hide in the water

why cant the navy use the army uniform whats wrong with that ??? a waste of money

  • @pele220 Because ACU looks stupid, and the navy does still wear BDU sometimes. Also, no camo is really necessary on a boat but somehow I feel that they are going to use it, blue seems appropriate. And when they navy spends billions on a single ship, a few hundred thousand uniforms is nothing.

  • @pele220 because ever sailor can be stationed on land at some point

  • @pele220 navy's like in the water most of the time...maybe that's why it's blue? it's just for look's.

  • FUCK YOU!!!!!

  • Heheh Sea bags getting smaller LOL. Heads up from a future marine ;D

  • If the Army ACUs were the previous pinnacle of "dumb, fucking ugly and useless", these took things one step farther into the depths of "super-stupid, unbearably ugly, and less than useless because all they do is make every other friendly and enemy force laugh their asses off with contempt for the US Navy"

For God's sake, the entire program that lead to the ARPAT, MARPAT, and NAVPAT designs are possibly the worst example of Top Down military idiotic planning and execution. Its an embarassment

  • The Australian DPNU Navy uniform looks alot better in my opinion.. :p

  • But can it be used as a flotation device?

  • i really like the navy BDU, i just like the blue

  • Why is it blue....so if you go overboard you can blend in with the ocean? Ridiculous. It should be a bright color for easy identification. That's why the older ones were white...or am I just crazy?

    Army Strong.

  • @jonwright85 They made it these colors so paint/dirt don't show up. We are all just glorified janitors.

  • @jonwright85 You dont wear them on the ship you wear coveralls

  • ...Like the previous working uniforms, the new NWU was designed to allow personnel to stay warm and dry in inclement weather, thus they were designed to be slightly larger for the wearing of sweaters underneath, along with meeting shipboard fire safety standards. The NWU, unlike its predecessors, was also designed to be longer-lasting and does not need to be ironed like previous uniforms.

  • Actually, there are two US Navy working uniforms: Navy Working Uniform and Coveralls.

The pixelated pattern is also used to hide wear and stains, something unavoidable with the utilities and working khakis used previously. The uniform is primarily composed of a 50/50 nylon and cotton blend, which eliminates the need for a "starch and press" appearance and reduces the possibility of snags and tears from sharp objects......cont

  • cmc rivers cover looks like shit!!!!

  • not in that pattern.

  • 8 pointed Cap :D they dont sell those!

  • Very Stylish. Does this canoflage you in the ocean? It truly is the new gay navy.

  • @knox7095 why?

  • @knox7095 Fuck you asshole, have you served in any branch of the military? people like you need to go back your trailers.

  • No More Bungarees?

  • these uniforms get annoying if you try to roll up sleeves and got big arms. the buttons should be replaced with Velcro cuz mines keep falling off. =/

  • Crap uniforms, shame on you navy..

  • @SloppySardine good I admire navy and airforce you guys hit the books hard and paid attention on school I'm an infantry soldier good job to alll air force and navy you guys deserve the job , alot of marines and army will call you fags and weak kids , but I respect you guys dont worry about trash talk stay strong guys

  • pussy! na lmao i was a scout i wish i went to the air force or navy

  • The seacadets are awesome. I go to basic in a week =)

  • @SloppySardine Nice! I'm joining next year.

  • Hey guys... I hav a question... If you join the navy or any military branch... Are they going to give you all the uniforms??? Like the white full dress and the service dress blue???

  • @2JKuSHiTT They give them to you, but you pay for them out of your first two or three paychecks during basic. :)

  • @Monkeykelci All of them??? Lyk dat service dress blue and white full dress???

  • @2JKuSHiTT From what I understand as a Navy and Army friend, and an Air Force dependent, yes. You get everything you need while in basic, and then are able to add to that. I know more about the Navy then the other services, but my friend said that they gave her everything, including the haircut, but you pay for it out of your first paycheck or two. They send you to A-School or your duty station ready to go. :)

  • I wish the insides were lined with a florescent material. If you fall of the ship at night (pretty sure it is rare) then all they will see is blue... If you turn it inside out, then it will reflect the light, and make it easier to see.

  • "My clothes will kill your clothes, that's even more so why they call it a WAR-DROBE!!" - GO NAVY!!

  • You fall overboard and start praying. They cant see you and you cant use your uniform as a life raft. Good going pencil pushers.

  • I'm currently enlisted Army, i was thinking at my ETS date going navy, would i have to do navy basic training?

  • @Orbit915 You would, but not all the way, you'd be going through the OSVET (Other Service Veteran) training program. Similar to the way we would go through yours-BLUE to GREEN. Google Navy OSVET program...or local recruiter.

  • I heard that uniform makes you hard to see in the water.

  • @RavenBlaze lol, anyone else see the tiny bit of water that had some white in it? , "lookd like dave, but CRAP DAVE," "you forgot your gear" *throws gear overboard* guy in water - .-

  • @RavenBlaze don't fall overboard.

  • @RavenBlaze Yup

Wearing bikinis makes you easier to see in the water.

  • @piehole1234 that sucks man : /

  • Nashville LPD-13 cadet here, just got my NWUs and man there awesome i strongly disliked the utilities.

  • wtf blue camo? what are you going to hide from? the enemy? in the ocean? I swear the Navy is run by liberal retards. Btw SEMPER FI!

  • @PrinceChaloner well it replaces some uniforms for the navy which is a good thing cause it seems you needed a different uniform every time you sneezed in the Navy. and to be honest these uniforms are more for showing off personally i like the digital pattern like the HUA?

  • @djdynasty01 I rather not wear that on a ship; it is better to wear on shore duty, especially better for Master-at-Arms.

Also, I REALLY DO NOT LIKE the Winter uniform (black button up shirt with black tie and black pants). I am in NJROTC and we switched to the Navy Service Uniform (Khaki Shirt Black pants). I rather have one uniform in NJROTC.

So I will defend the Navy Service Uniform. The Summer Blues was OK, but can be easily dirtied.

  • This sucks. Bring back the utilities, dammit!

  • The Navy has lost it's sense of direction. From a distance, on the ship you will look like a dark speck This is the ugliest Navy uniform I have ever seen. Looks like something NATO made us adapt. What a crock of S*&t.

  • I think it is better to use this uniform on shore duty. Now for ship duty they should find another uniform. In my opinion, only Master-at-Arms should be authroized to wear this uniform on a ship.

  • CMC, nice 16 point cover....

  • I wish NJROTC could wear these.....(sigh)

  • @JawsFan27 If you join USNSCC (Sea Cadets), I believe it is a better program, you will be able to wear these, not to mention, I believe that you would be better off whereas the Sea Cadets will teach you more things about the Navy, take you on more trips, and better prepare you for boot camp, if you choose to join the Military.

  • @InTheNavy47 really? thanks for the info then.

  • @InTheNavy47 Is there anything like that for the Army or Marine Corps? I'm in ARMY JROTC but I want something more hardcore and intense.

  • @InTheNavy47 will this give you a higher rank like rotc will when you go through usnscc

  • @InTheNavy47 Hooyah, i wear these in the NSCC, best program ever personally.

  • @InTheNavy47 hooya. I'm loving Sea Cadets. GREAT program. I graduated from RT Great Lakes in June this year and just got promoted.

  • @InTheNavy47 Definitely. The Sea Cadets are the best. My division is so much fun and I love the uniforms.

  • @InTheNavy47 better prepare you for boot camp? navy boot camp is not hard, there is nothing to prepare for.

  • @xXThermobaricXx ok. It was just a simple statement. No need to get mad or anything.......

  • @JawsFan27 i meant for you to not see that cause after i posted it i felt like a dick my b dude

  • @xXThermobaricXx it's ok.

  • @JawsFan27 OMG IKR. we gotta wear those itchy black penguin uniforms

  • @killerNC17 lol

  • @JawsFan27 agreed...

  • @Brad4747474747 agreed what?

  • @JawsFan27 NJROTC should be issued these

  • @Brad4747474747 oh. Yes we should : /

  • @JawsFan27 I was mad when we switched to the NSU's, because I think the seasonal blues uniforms look much better.

  • @trouble1macker202 I actually like the NSU. It looks similar to the Marine Corps' SU and that looks good considering the Navy and Marine Corps are sister branches in the same department.

  • @JawsFan27 hey look up sea cadets im in it and we wear them alot

  • @JawsFan27 what area u in bro?

  • @killerkrab21 11th

  • @JawsFan27 hooyah. im in 13. Port Angeles High. im a C/PO3

  • @JawsFan27 theres like 1 cadet in my JROTC that wears them, even though its a army JROTC

  • damn, thats some strict uniform code you got there lads...

  • @trumpet190 it's not really that strict..most of it was caring for your nwu's as well as explaining pockets and minor other things

  • What's [] on everyones post ?

  • If they can't see you you can't be rescued

  • your 8 points crooked just to point it out

  • @Slave2Reason

How much did it cost the US taxpayer to train the sailor moving the plate underneath the floor? :P

  • next year ... new navy facepaint ... new navy deployment bag .. .. fuck .. lets be orignal guys ! that uniform would be better in i dont know . ORANGE ?? RED ?? you fall of the water pff you can be spoted !!! and its the same . but no ! blue

  • 1:43 Rotating plate XD

  • How much did that rotating plate at 1:43 cost the U.S. taxpayer?

  • Oh yeah that will be easy to see if you fall over board or shop sinks. Real smart!

  • @TheBelldiver The idea is to NOT be seen, hence the camouflage.

  • They just look like the navy to this tin caner I would still like my old dungarees but still go NAVY

  • They destroyed the navy uniform. Camo's on a ship? Bring back tradition, bring back the blue jackets. Bring back the Dungarees

  • why can't they stick to a work shirt and a pair of jean like trousers? like the old time?

  • plus.. i'd rather have just this one.. than have 3.. then you have to know dates and stuff for when which ones are authorized..that just makes a big mess.

  • Being in the Navy and all.. I wear this uniform.. it is exactly that.. a uniform.. a working one at that. Its comfortable for extended use... And for those looking to join, once they get issued to you in bootcamp, you wear them all day every day, the only time you dont is when youre sleeping. Whether you like the color or not, thats not really what its about. Again for those looking to join.. Once they get put on your back... there is no way to describe the pride you feel.

  • I love the NAVY'S uniforms, looks epic

  • that color selection is ridiculous! cant wait until AOR1-2-3 hit the Navy

  • I saw this in boot camp! I was SO happy to find a video on NKO!!

  • im so glad they made a digital uniform, i hate the navys other uniforms but its gay that its fucking loose fitting

  • im so glad they made a digital uniform, i hate the navys other uniforms

  • This looks stupid. So when you have a man over board you wont be able to spot him... perfect.

  • @Spankydaham924 The overall blue color reflects the Navy's heritage and connection to seaborne operations. It replaces the Utilities, Working Winter, Working Khaki, and the Aviation Working Greens. Why have three working uniforms when you can have one year-round uniform. The pixelated pattern is used to hide wear and stains, something unavoidable with the utilities and working khakis used previously. It composes of 50/50 nylon and cotton, which eliminates the need for a "starch and press" look.

  • @NatedogJr yeah thats all great and fine though. But why did they make em so ugly? It just doesnt look like a Navy uniform. Wernt you supposed to be able to make a flotation device with the bell bottoms? I got a new Idea for a uniform. FIRE. If they go overboard they can easily be spotted.

  • @Spankydaham924 Well they are keeping the Navy Coveralls. Can't they use those pants as a floatation device? The NWU is a WORKING uniform not a dress uniform. Your physical labor clothing does not have to look like you are a millionaire LOL in my opinion.

Also, they are replacing the Winter Blue (All black uniform, with black tie) and Summer Blue (White Shirt Black Pants) with the Navy Service Uniform (Khaki short sleeve and black pants) ONLY FOR E-1 to E-6. Again, for a year-round uniform.

  • @NatedogJr Is it me or does it seem adopted from european Navys?

  • @Spankydaham924 The Navy did want thier own Army Combat uniform/ Marine Corps Combat Utility Uniform. I'm not familar with European Navies. Not being selfish or disrespectful, but since I am AMERICAN, I only care about the United States Navy.

  • Come on. The navy is not the marines or army. Dungarees should be brought back.. In adition All ranks wearing khakie shitrs. Dumasses in charge of the navy now.

  • @SCHRUBBE1966 Dungarees? How did those look?

  • @SCHRUBBE1966 why not have a 1 multi purpose uniform?

i was in the army so i dunno but i liekd only really having to worry about keeping up with my ACU's and PT's. The not ironing and shoe shining allowed us to focus more on training , which is what we should be focused on during combat. Instead of uniform inspections we now had time to run glass house preparing us for deployment. I imagine it is the same GREAT mind set.......enemy does not care if you shined your boots!

  • His hat is jacked up.

  • It's a nice uniform, practical and identifiable.

Some might take the mick out of the digital but it makes sense to match with the Army in having a digital "look" so the whole US military can be identified as US soldiers when in cross military training exersises.

After all, any soldier with any knowledge can instantly recognise DPM, therefore soldiers wearing the new MTP can be identified as Brits even though the colouration is exactly the same as the Multicam the US are using in Afganistan.

  • WTG CMC!! Your cover is on a little crooked! Also, NO ONE in the video has a "rookie cookie". It isn't to be worn with this uniform, only with uniforms with ribbons. If you are talking about the CMC at the beginning, then what he is actually wearing is the authorized CMC badge. Notice how it is oval in shape and solid gold??

  • anyone on here know anything on swcc training?

  • @DietPepsiproduction

same thing as buds just more working on boats and radio's.

  • hahaha he has a rookie cookie

  • colors make you invisible if you fall overboard....

  • @patjoppien ha too true

  • @patjoppien

LOL very true thats what i was thinking.

Thankfully, helicopters do have a heat sensing camera. but at first.. you cant tell :P

  • @patjoppien Colours hide small stains of ship hull paint that might be still wet.

But yes, that is a good point, though the life-preserves are high vis.

  • @G1NZOU true about the paint, but I didn't know they wore Life-preserves when on deck?

  • @patjoppien I wouldn't know, not being in the navy. XD.

I would assume they'd wear them when there's a significant chance of being thrown overboard, I know the deck crew on aircraft carriers wear different coloured jackets for visual identification of roles.

  • Is this for Navy Seals or for enlisted Navy Sailors?

  • @Reviews4yourliking its all enlisted and officer everyone's working uniform.. tight eh? i got that cover at NEX yesterday since we had a JROTC drill meet on base and the navy let us shop there =D

  • @JOInfidelAirsoft Yeah these are so awesome i want to enlist in about 2 years and i really want these. THe old one that my dad had were ugly. I just wish the navy will allow the sailors to take them off base and show off like the army and every other branch. These are to good to just keep on base. Thanks for a reply

  • @Reviews4yourliking

Good for you...my grandson's enlistment will be up in December of this year, making 6 years. He will have lots of money for school and he will only be 24.

  • The NWU's have to be hot as shit to wear, due to their color as well as their extreme similarity to the ABUs in terms of comfortability and weight. Take note of the 3:51 second mark that says that the hat isn't allowed to be displayed that way. They must not care, because I'd see Sailors doing that all the time back in Lackland. Then again, Air Force personnel wouldn't have had any idea that this wasn't allowed.

  • A zipper fly YES!! Too bad for the dress whites and blues.

  • Take charge and what?

  • TOO MANY FUCKING RULES ON HOW TO WEAR A SIMPLE SHIRT AND PANT. Get real Navy..when your drowning the water and fishes will not care. Enemies will not care nor will the american people. all we care is that you do your job and protect us. Trust me, i wont hate you for not ironing your shirt one day.

  • love how all govt videos are so boring and just bullet points, yawn. welcome to the 1950s guys.

  • sounds like they copied that uniform from the marine corp uniforms

  • @noearaujo The USMC copied their uniform from the Army.. IMO All digis in all branches look like crap, Bring back woodland and desert camos

  • I might be in the minority but I hate these uniforms. They look nothing like navy uniforms should look. I agree there were too many uniforms but at least they were distinctive. These look like they should be worn by extras in some movie called "sea command 2050". What is with the camis at sea? And the 8 point cap? Where's the navy tradition? Why is it necessary to look like all the other branches? Sorry, bad design, do not like.

  • the navy is gay

  • Thumbs up if this guy is missing his 8 point cover lol

  • Why would you need to roll your sleeves down in an emergency?

  • @StreamingKnowledge some situations require long sleeves. i.e. fire and chemical warfare being just two.
