It is bcoz, n82 has 120 Dram, which mean u wont runs out of memory while accessing ur apps or even open it all at one time, The processor is way faster then n95, u dont have to waste ur time waiting to opened any apps, the built quality is very2 good.. on the other hand, n95 has 2.6inch screen compare to n82 that has 2.4inch.. i suggest u should buy Nokia N82.. :)
the nokia n95 gb still has the same DRAM, the main different is 8gb has bigger screen 2.8Inch, and 8GB internal flash mmry.. let me ask u, do u which u prefer, the fast device or the quality? :)
i agree with DarkMachine and i would like 2 add my opinion. I think the main diference beetwen n82 and n95 and n95 8GB is look, n82 looks more fancy and more prestige than both of n95s, and i think it is becouse it`s made from some of the best materials. Very good plastic + metal = good looking phone :)

so, n82 is best buy! even though im using n95 Classic, the 8bg ver didnt have an expandable micro SD slot.. so n82 is the best integrated Device on the market right now..
Thank you very much.....I did extensive research before choosing N95 8gb or N82 and based on most reviews, the N82 seems to be favored. I like the camera and overall performance of my N82 even though I prefer the fancy form factor of the N95 8gb(slider)
hi biiix9, yes you can set any .midi, .wav or .mp3 file, or even videos (which will show on screen) as a ringing ringtone or message as well. It is the same for all modern s60 3rd-Gen phones now.
thanx for the informative upload. tis vid enabled me to know tis fone is wat i need n best fit my budget. had ordered online & waiting for singtel to deliever the set next mon :D
I did have this phone, but i lost in into the sea,FUCK I say..... remember this phone dose NOT float at all, it sunk as A rock!!! i tryied to dive in and take it, but it sunk to fast for me to swim and catch it! fuck i say... 500 euro INTO THE SEA!!!!
seriously need feedback on this phone... any idea about the speaker quality? is it as good as the N81? i using N81 now thinking about changing to this phone
Music wise, I won't recommend upgrading from an N81 as the music functions are the same, I do not know the volume of the n81 so I commend much on that, but what I can say of the N82 speaker volume is adequate, but not really boomingly loud, because of that there is little distortion at max volumes.
Unless, if you wish to have a better camera (2MP to 5MP camera with 30fps VGA) and the additional GPS, the N82 will just fill in that in for your additional needs.
How is the battery life...Can it last for maybe 2 days?!And is the flash really that powerful?!Pls. answer...This is the only fone i could find that's almost complete...
the battery can definitely last more than 2 days of normal usage (e.g just SMSing, calling and few minutes of wi-fi a day and A2DP bluetooth on the commute) you can go for on at least 3 days to 4 days on low-moderate usage. I used the N95 8GB with the same demands and it can't go more than 2 days!
The flash is not really powerful, but it beats a LED flash anytime. But its a real battery drainer- after you take like 200 shots under a full charge, your battery is already dead. With the flash off, you can take at most about 700 photos at 5MP.
The speakers are actually the same as the N95. Only that instead of them side by side (left and right) on the N95, the N82 has them both on one side of the phone.
The volume is reasonable but depends on the firmware as I was told that after the first update, the Max volume is not as loud prior to update.
hey mate im thinking if buying the n82, but which one should i get? the n82 or the n95 8gb?
I like the n95 design more, and the screen is bigger...but the thing i hate about it is there's NO lens cover which sucks :(. and it's more expensive.
yea, tat was a mistake, sorry on my part. It's 3.5mm. I noticed it too when I replayed the video and went crap! Believed this was pointed out on the comments before, but think it need to be highlighted again!
Camera sounds cannot be off even if you set the warning tones "OFF" in the profiles, strangely this could be done on the older firmwares on other s60 phones like the N95.
Yes, Ngage game demos are preinstalled inside. You can also install more yourself.
I am not 100% sure but I think it is a legal requirement now because people have been taking pictures of other people without them knowing.. that's my guess
8GB is supported. The older N95 classic can support 8GB out of the box, the N82 is newer and can definately support it given almost many similarities in hardware.
anyone knows when the black version is coming out? and if its gonna be 8 gig?... i am saying this because first the n81 was released silver version than after it a black 8 gig version came out. Hope Nokia releases it 8 gig its all we need ... n82 rules!
Well thats where the brand originated from of course! With factories closer to their main HQ, quality and built is generally better controlled compared to those "Made by Nokia" which can come from Mexico to Hungary to China.
Mainly flagship and high end phones are made at Nokia's home country.
1. Battery life is much better than the N95, I personally use an N95 8GB myself too. the N95 lasts 2 days before having to charge, the N82 about 3-4 days. So It averages about a third more battery than it.

Are you using the old N95? the battery is 950mah, much smaller than the N95 8GB I have in comparison thou :). The 8GB version sits in with a 1200mah battery, so in actual comparison, maybe u can get about 1 day+ to 2days of usage.
Do you leave bluetooth or unused applications running in the background? because all these saps battery like nothing.
2. GPS is the same nokia maps software and same GPS hardware, I see not much difference in this area, except in the 3D map mode, the N82 don't lag as much (I see this more of a software issue which can be updated).

yes that is quite true, the phone is always the fastest out of the box, when you actually get to "use" the phone by installing all your games and apps, it can get rather slow and slower each time you take up more of it's memory. I am going through the menus now for a feel again and it's not laggy from my own experience, things will definitely speed up if you turn off eyecandies like animated menus or custom themes, etc.
I usually run my phone with all apps closed, so menu speed are always fine with me. Do not want them caching unnecessary CPU or memory in the background.

Comparing this to the N95 8GB, I still prefer the N95, mainly because of the form factor and colours. The N82 though smaller and lighter, only comes in one shade, but I can say this is subjective- you will love it if you prefer candy bar phones.
LOL, I guess you can tell how crazy I was at that time to get the review done once I got my paws on the phone. Guess I left out all the little details like cuttong my nails first haha.
Hi Zeo, it costs about $998 SGD here without tying in with any telco operator (contract). At a USD -SGD rate of $1.45 that translates to about $688 USD

Yes, I was torn between these 2 phones once, but I went for the N95 8GB :) mainly because of the looks as well.

With the assisted gps turn on also, my gps locks in seconds with the n82. Honestly seconds. Only first lock will take a bit.
The n82 is very fast. No lag as you saw in the video. Battery is good too. I only run what I am using to save speed and battery.
unlocker 4 years ago
Some lovely clear shots of the phone but I really think something should have been said about the:
1 - Battery life (compared to the N95's terrible battery)
2 - GPS signal and lock on strength (N95 was very poor, often dropping signals and slow to lock on)
3 - Boot up and navigation speeds (symbian N-series always seem to be very slow and prone to crashing)
Please let us know some of these answers so that we can buy with confidence as soon as it is released.

That worries me because with typical useage on my standard N95(1 hour worth of calls, few text messages, few minutes of net access and the odd play around with the phone) was never able to get more then 10 hours. SO relative to that, the N82 may only give me a day and a half MAX! Unless your 8GB N95 uses a better battery then the standard N95?

On the symbian speeds..I suppose I'm more concerned with the navigation and opening and closings speeds of applications since in my experience practically every sincle N series Nokia phone so far has been hyper slow. yes that is quite true, the phone is always the fastest out of the box, when you actually get to "use" the phone by installing all your games and apps, it can get rather slow and slower each time you take up more of it's memory. Poorly placed headset jack
Thick body
