@tuner1406 I don't think it would because the paint would not let the light through. If you could find something that light could get through then that would probably work. test on a small part of the apple and shine a flashlight through it.....could try that?

How is the Apple logo held in place? Glue?

Hey Caris365,

I am going from memory but it seems there was a tacky/sticky substance on the inside of the lid around the apple shaped hole. The apple logo had a lip on the back side that kept it from going through the apple shaped hole in the lid. This lip is what sticks to the inside of the lid....does that make sense?

Yeah I know what you mean, I'm still don't understand how once you remove the logo it can just go back in without more glue and stay there securely? Does it push in quite stiff or something? or does that big white sticker behind it hold it in place? Also was it hard to pull of the first time? It sounds like it's not stuck very well.

It was really easy to take off and it stuck back on very easy as well. Taking it off and putting it back were probably the easiest parts of the job. It was just a very sticky substance almost like semi dried model glue that does not dry completely. No worries on the questions, hope this helps.

It is transparency paper. If you check any office supply you can find it. Your printer has to support transparency printing though so check that too.

Yes, I'm guessing it will void the warranty. I have had it for a while and was looking into a new on (hoping for a 12" c'mon Apple) so I went ahead and took the chance. If I have any issues though I will still take

The SVG files came from Wikipedia. You can search for them there. Just look for "yin yang" and "apple logo" on wikipedia. You'll find the svg files and you can process them in Gimp. Hope that helps.
