  • thank you!

  • Gracias / Thanks from Spain!

  • what clothes were you wearing? XD

  • thanks, you helped me

  • O.o exelente

  • Why did you use a synthesized voice? I could hear sound, so you do have a mic. Unless, of course, you cannot use your voice, or (you believe that) your speech is too unclear.

  • Hardcore, Microsoft Sam!

  • thank you stephen hawking!!!!

  • I also dont feel like removing all of my cards (graphics, sound) just to have easy access.

Anyway, nice video and good job with the MS sam talking

  • Its a pain in the ass to remove a Pentium 4 heatsink! You have to push them clips with a screw driver and once you get 2 done... you go to the other side and try and you end up pushing in the ones you just removed! I appreciate my Athalon XP 1800 heatsink way better but I like the Pentium 4 because it is newer and faster. Just a bitch to get that cat hair out of the fins and no, an air compressor doesn't get it all out the way it is designed!

  • @juniortore1 having the same problem did you get it done ?

  • @GetMerkedHD Yep, eventually I got it to come off with a screw driver. Then I had to remove all of the screws on the heatsink itself to get to the fins of the heatsink to clean it. Its still a pain, but I dont do it often.

  • @juniortore1 try removing a 370 socket heatsink its a lot harder. i find removing 478 socket heatsinks easy.

  • @thoughtsofglought No thanks, if its harder, I will pass xD

  • @juniortore1 well its almost impossible to remove with out damaging the socket or the heatsink. socket A and 370 had the worst heatsink mounting ever.

  • @juniortore1 --Yeah, undoing those four clips is ridiculously awkward, especially if the mobo is still in the case. I always need a screwdriver to pry them out.

  • @lookbacktime Ya, I am thinking of sticking another fan / heatsink on it. I am tired of when I want to clean the fan, I need to take the whole thing apart to get to the heatsink, and then waste yet more expensive arctic silver. I hope it fits, as it has the metal push clip things to put it on. But I dont know if I would have to change the whole heatsink mount.

  • when you removed the heatsink you also removed the CPU. might want to mention this...

also i think you're a little rough on it generally. doesn't matter when your mobos broken, but people might want to do this on equipment they want to keep working... :D

  • Thanks!

  • i wish i've saw this before :) i've broken it last year lol

  • @ysrmik I like the computer voice, reminds me of the future. i want that voice to tell me what to do at all times.

  • I wish I'd seen that before I broke mine !

  • mate thank you soooo much..........

i been trying to get my heatsink off to clean it cause its making a harsh grinding noise and i tried to get it out but was being a slag an i didnt wana break it an not have a pc..

gona try it right now..thanks again dude you're the man

  • muchas gracias ahora ya se como retirarlo,

y si suenas a Stephen Hawkins. XD

  • good

  • You forgot to mention anything about thermal paste. Enjoy your hypothetical fried CPU Mr.Hawkings

  • Thank you so much man!!!! you saved me!!!!

Now i can install my PVI withot troubles xD

  • Gracias, desde Colombia

  • Haha

  • Thanks!

  • lol steeven hawkings XDDDDDD

  • thanks for the how to, i was stucking at how to pull that fan out previously

  • lol who made this vid steeven hawkings?

  • You idiot! Of course he did!

  • haha

  • ...

  • haha:))))

  • hi mate where is the skt 478 cpu,i noticed you never fitted any cpu before fitting the heatsink and fan and when you removed the heatsink/fan assemely there was no cpu fitted,i have mentioned this as i plan to remove my pentium 4(skt 478) cpu and if i simply remove the heatsink and fan as shown without releasing the actuation arm i will wrip the cpu from its socket, this is the main problem with this mobo, you cant get to the arm as the heatsink covers it...please advide cheers

  • @brianthesnail1234 -- You are right. With the stock Intel thermal interface material, removing the heat sink usually results in the CPU coming out as well stuck to the bottom. It's happened a few times to me. Bad design by Intel. This doesn't seem to happen if something like Arctic Silver has been applied however.

  • kinda sound like a robot lol tnxx

  • good, thanks.

  • nice
