Nights Over Egypt is my favorite joint by The Jones Girls and I always wondered did anybody sample the song.... I now have whiplash after hearing this joint.
there was another song out around "97" that sampled the same beat. It was a underground rapper, & at the chourus it had this chick. I cant remember the name of the song for nothin!
Hands down, one of the best rap albums I've ever heard. Don't care what anybody says, Tray Lee is def one of the best. Was bumping this album in my walkman at 16 on my way to high school. Im 30 and I still bump this in my car to this day.
This tape wore the player out in my homie car we bumped it so much. I think this nigga was widely slept on (commercially, anyway) cuz his shit was intricate and lyrical and the rap game was heading toward the "dumb it down" phase...
he had a degree b4 this album.. the nigga jus quit rap n went bak 4 that phd... this is probly my fav album of all tym.. it was more than alter egos... he was a 1 man group. niggas had diff voices n flows n shit. if u didnt no u wud think it was 5 ppl.. thats crazy.... if he aint quit i honestly think he wudve been bigga than jay-z caus he was up there lyrically but no1 cud fuck wit him creatively
Yo' I feel all of ya 'bout this sh!t here!!!!! This was one of the beats that you could roll down the ave with the top down and leave that choke smell in the air @ night. I didn't know he swapped the mic for the brief case and the right hand in the air? Now, that's how you make a switch. Str8 legit biz there w/ mo' chedda' or betta'....
@thegreatcratesofsoul You mean he wasn't quoting that young R&B group, Immature for the song of the same name? I mean the next line is 'far from immature, it's the LR'. But, I'm gonna check this Father Dom theory and get back to you.
Tho Tracey Lee is from Philly, he was born in Buffalo NY. The concept for this album was dope, alter egos. Mr.Lee the business man, LR the serious guy,Rock the party animal,Tray Lee the ladies man and T Lee or TR the lyricist^.
Yeah it was dope, I guess Source Magazine's Record Report felt it was too commercial and that's why it got a 3 mic rating. This was the best song no doubt.
@pacman491 the song was its party time on the tracey lee album the theme nad you right this song was the jam back then and im 31 so its nice 2 kno sumone yngr then me can appreciate a true lyrical artist frm the 90's b4 all this garbage came out
