Okay the product looks great but i have a question why is all lcd manufactures showcase their LCD products with slow moving visuals, show video images of art or paintings.Instead of showing sports like car racing, swimming, baseball, footbal or for that matter an action movies like fast & furious ? ? ? i.e has the OLED's really overtaken the plasma's ?
I Hope Samsung, Sony or LG Will make OLED TVs at 20", 38", 46", 55", 60" and 70" Versions for $1000, $2000, $3000, $4000, $5000 and $6000 Australian all with 240Hz TruMotion Hardware (For Now Till the GPUs are powerful and cheap enough) and 1080 Full HD. All by 2011 so I can enjoy my HD Digital FTA and Blu Ray Movies on a awesome TV =)

YOU have no fucking clue what YOU are talking about, faggot. Go fuck your mom. I have 20/10 vision. I can see pixels and its fucking annoying. The more, the worse. Either make them the size of atoms with ROUND pixels, or use NONE at all. We got it right on film, now we are going ass backwards.
analog film is limited by the material it is printed on, it doesn't have infinite resolution. infinity is a concept.
I guess you can see every pixel, no matter how small it is. They should have you work for a university, since you can see quantum physics and molecules and all that without a microscope.
Of course its limited to the material its printed on. So re-use it. Make it long term, better materials, or make it as small as atoms. If we stick to pixels, it will NEVER go away. For example, post a video on some video site in very high definition, and look at it a week later. ITS RUINED!
4 yeras, the warranty on my current TV is 4 years...that is not good for OLED. The technology is more than likely a while away to rival LCD in that respect. The other thing I wounder is pixel life, I know LCD has an issue with that, stuck pixels mostly, maybe they were too early to rush that tecnology out too. I think these companies are making things too fast to make a buck. A nice picture and durability are what consumers want.
well, the materials required for an OLED is far less expensive compared to an LCD TV. It also has a much higher contrast than the LCD ones, AND it is more energy efficient. Simply put, I would rather get 2 OLED that will last me 2.5 years each than a LCD that would last me 5 years
I have seen the Sony OLED 11 inch model, they are nice. The salesmen at the Sony store said said that they will have 27 inch tv's on sale in 2009, didn't say how much the price was going to be; he also said that the life span of the OLED is around 15 years. I was wondering if anyone has info about the screen, are dead or stuck pixels an issue and is the screen delicate like the LCD tv's today?
15 years? Im not so sure about if theyre serious about that. I mean theyre using organic light diodes. But I really hope they succeed with this twchnology. Itd take the tv reality to the next level.
I heard the lifespan on the OLED tv's were four years since its organic and thats from a couple of sources. Either way there is going to be alot of technology for tv's in the next coming years with laser tv's and field emission display tv's that have the same quality if not better then OLED tv's and are cheaper and will be out sooner. Laser TV's will be making there entrance by end of 2009 and the Field emission display tv's will be right behind them plus they last longer then OLED
Some people do not know what they are talking about on here.
LED requires a back light,ie, to project the colour to your eyes, it needs a horrible gaff backlight that affects black levels.
OLED when developed to full extent can display the entire colour spectrum. It is transparent, so when off you see through it. So if it is pure black behind, that is what you will see. The response time is about 0.01 seconds compared to LCD 4 secs, and plasma 0.001 secs. Motion? What motion?
You're right ;D some people dont know what they are talking about on here ;D.
Unfortunately you seem to be one of them :]
LED is simply LIGHT EMITTING DIODE, hence it does not require any additional light source, I think you must have mixed up LED with LCD which is LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY, and this is the one that needs backlight. Speaking about your OLED description :D OLED is not transparent, it can be but it doesn't have to be.. to be concluded
( those are called TOLED - Transparent Organic Light Emmiting Diode), they can be flexible as well ;D It's true that OLED produce much greater spectrum of colour that LCD,but the pure black is the result of the way it works, not the fact that the cover of the tv behind the screen is black ;D lol i.e. In comparison to LCD's OLED's do not project black as lcd does, it simply turns off the pixels that suppose to project pure black, hence the result is pure black in the desired part of the screen...
... as if the screen was turned off completely. And the last thing the "response time" or as you should say 'time reaction' for LCD is approximately 0.20sec. if it was 4sec as you're saying it would be a comic book not a tv( LOL ) about the plasma I have no idea but I would say it has faster time reaction than OLED ;D
Some genious guy on AVForums said that this OLED tech is out of date now so we will never see these tvs for mass market and that RGB/LED is alot better, SOny have one for $50'000 Dollers at the moment for sale and it beats OLED. I would love to have one of theses one day still though. True Black at the moment, check out the Samsung 9 Series with LED backlight, just amazing and everything looks 3D.
I'm waiting for Samsungs 40-42" OLEDS to hit in 2010. Plasmas and LCDs just cant match CRT regarding color and motion, and most of the time with blacks, even though the new samsung oled displays have fantastic inky blacks and pioneer plasma are the best hands down. anyways, I'm hoping OLEDs can handle motion just as well as a crt
Exactly that Samsung 9 series is a true animal of a tv and everything does look 3d. OLED was invented by Kodak its been around for a while. Field Emission display tv's will be coming out with Laser tv's at the end of 2009. Plus OLED tv's have a life span of four years is what i'm hearing. Can't wait for the new gen of tv's to drop. But i would love to get my hands on the series 9 Samsung that is an amazing tv
we all know that in the near future OLED tv's will be made in a wide range of sizes, from portables, to behemoth size. This is just the beginning of an amazing technology.
does anyone els see how this could be used in laptops i mean the voodoo envy 133 and the macbook ait are already so thin imagin if they had lids only 4 mm thick they would be very fragile tho
The ones at sony makes are only a max size of about 27 inches...samsung on the other hand has made it possible to make OLED's in 40+...if you look it up you can find that it is quite hard to make larger size OLED's...the smaller the easier, "maureenOWW" pointed this out with the Kodak camera display..it isnt new but its new for it to be big...and size does matter does it not... i mean this TV wise for all those pervs that might be out there =P
I know what you mean. Which technology is THE BEST? What do YouTubers have that they like or seen that they think are going to be around for a while and which ones are going to be the best to own? Any replys are encouraged and welcomed, I would love to hear anyones thoughts on this, thanks!
right now LCD is wooping plasma because of weight and picture quality heck i have my lcd tv mounted on my sceiling so i dont hurt my neck while watching tv in bed lol but soon OLED WILL RULE
Yeah dunno what your talking bought, samsung is like awesome, never had issues with any of their products and I have 4 of their flat panels in my house for like 4 years now.
