To those comparing US and UK casualties, you're overlooking one thing: there's far fewer UK soldiers in Irak, and they're in different zones. Obviously, the US troops are in more hostile and populated areas. When you have to rush through city traffic to the scene of an explosion, the insurgents will try to take you out, whether US or UK. The British troops just aren't in the dangerous parts.
It also pays for college, Looks good on apps., gives you training for later in life. It's not bad in Iraq, and not every person there likes Bush, like me. I am also not pro war, but this is the easist way to pay off and get respect so why not.

Not so. Vietnam soldiers served longer than WWII soldiers. These guys were not professional soldiers (reserves) and they are in longer than any service member in combat.
volunteers during Vietnam served 3 years service and not all time served was overseas. Draft served 2 years. No women allowed in combat.

To those comparing US and UK casualties, you're overlooking one thing: there's far fewer UK soldiers in Irak, and they're in different zones. Obviously, the US troops are in more hostile and populated areas. When you have to rush through city traffic to the scene of an explosion, the insurgents will try to take you out, whether US or UK. The British troops just aren't in the dangerous parts.

This is always the US perspective. However, it just isn't true. Hitler didn't have superiority over the RAF as proved in the 1940/41 Battle of Britain and did not have complete control of the English Channel due to the Royal Navy. Therefore, an invasion could not have been attempted. The war in the West entered an almost stalemate.

The Krauts had the RAF on the ropes but German intel didnt know it...thats the only reason the Krauts werent marching into London...I know the truth hurts but the Yanks and Brits then retaliated and bombed the hell out of German cities...how bout some thanks mate!

That and the fact that they couldn't land. British civillians piled wreckage onto any available air strip so there was no LZ for German planes.

This is very true, there are reckless individuals in both American and British forces to which I can assure is also widely reported here in the UK and that it isn't just some anti American propaganda. However I would also like to point out that this report isn't necessarily focusing on individuals actions or how good or bad the US forces are but is about the US government's policy in Iraq. There is a very important difference.

Exactly. That's why the British soldiers were beating those Iraqi kids who were throwing rocks, etc., etc. Come on. There are bad people on both sides. Of course the war is fucked up. All wars are. That's why its wrong. And it's also wrong for the British to stand back and blab about how bad US forces are. They're just trying to lay the blame off of themselves. The US went to war and the Brits came with us. End of story. We're all fucked.

The main problem lies with the poor quality of training the NCO's and Junior Officers are given. They can hardly teach their subordinates about ethics if they do not understand what actions are allowable in a conflict. If the Government its self breaches the lowest codes of human rights. What chance does the 19 year old kid with more adrenalin than brains and a gun have?
