This is perhaps her greatest performance, tho the movie itself drags a bit. As to her body--she WAS pregnant during early filming of this. She miscarried, it was the FIRST of three miscarriages she had with Miller. The last was after Some Like It Hot. In "Hot" she looks even more pregnant--it's heartbreaking,

Well it was a chance for Marilyn to work with the man that many people considered the greatest actor of all time, Laurence Olivier. I think that was the main reason. If the world saw Marilyn acting with super-serious and dramatic Olivier, they would see her in the same light. I think that was the overall hope she ahd with this film.

Because Marilyn is consider as a legend, but when she was alive, if you read her biogaphy it was really HARD to her to get job, she wasn't rich at all, in fact she accepted every single job someone offered to her. She even posed naked for a calendar because she had no money.

i know. i have her biography. i have 52 books on monroe. marilyn posed nude in the 1940's desperealty to get $50 to get her car back and by the prince and the showgirl marilyn monroe wason't living like she was when she wason;t famouse. but in niagra which she became really recongnized then she was getting as much as her hairdresser ! :0!! and yeah marilyn monroe did have a hard life with her life. her fears, lonlyness and insecurites. i love her loads!

i love her loads too and she was such an amazing person.. cannot be described in words really.. iv just read the book, ';to norma jean, with love jimm'.. its amazing.. some part of me wishes she could of stayed norma jean.. withough getting hurt.. to stay with jimmy.. but on the the other hand.. at the time with him she wanted to be an actress.. and so she would have been always longing for something she never had.if she didont start her modeling career. really sad though.:)

By menstrual pain I mean her period pain, she suffered from a uterus condition called endometriosis, and as a result had extremely painful periods. By excess pill intake I mean taking too many different kinds of pills.

she had actually gotten pregnant right before/during the beginning of shooting this film. i think it was her last pregnancy. she got really depressed and drank and took a lot of pills because she thought that she would lose that baby like the other two and had already went into a mourning state.
