Frankly, d3sst, the reason that historically there have been MORE funny male comedians than women comedians (Which is what I am assuming you meant by "men have historically made better comedians," considering there have been a handful of fantastic female comedians like Madeline Kahn, Tina Fey, Gilda Radner, etc.) is because people like you write women off and don't give them a chance to prove themselves in the comedic world, and because of this less women try to make it in comedy.

yes, that is a good point that i had not considered. the proportion of female comedians that i think are funny to those that i don't is actually about the same as the proportion of male comedians that i think are funny to those that i don't, it just seems like it is smaller because there are so many more male comedians in the business. i can see that it is not fair of me to judge the sex as a whole given the current state of the business.

She's a hilarious writer/performer with the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in NY. This performance isn't stand-up or a sketch, it's a portion of a solo show. Skinner's stuff is always good, but it doesn't necessarily have the broadest appeal.
