  • Russia the tomb of the fascists and Nazis. Good riddance.

  • @SOULFLYSI just f...

Onore a voi !!!

  • @Pierinopasquotti NON DIMENTICHIAMO.

  • If not because of so much corruption, alcoholism, and rampant gangsterism, there is no reason why Russia could not be an important player in the world.

  • the first man was a member of the Bersagleria...I don't understand why ppl here have such comments - stick to the subject, ok?

  • STALIN=ASSASSIN

    COMMUNISM=MASS MURDER

Fuck you,Stalin,Tito,Lennon [not John] and Marx,ya beet root eating, malnourished commie bastard.

all opinions are welcome but not the vulgar 'free

  • heroes

  • Yes, thank you Russians.

  • cold took their lives, heroes go to the end

  • Cold took the lives of both sides.

But Italian lives were taken by Soviet bullets and shells.

    Those who survived capitulated.

  • really?

  • No, my ass, Stalingrad has been Italian since then, don't you know?

BTW, it's more than hypocritical to play the Schindler's List melody in the memory of those who helped Nazis.

    Very hypocritical.

  • really? And the USSR trying ingul the whole europe? And the USSR trying ingul the whole europe? the Tripartite Pact had not attacked, you would have swallowed them.

  • The USSR had hardly enough force to take Berlin in 1945 - that was already much.

When was the USSR trying to invade Europe? Any documents? Any evidence?

It's funny how Russia gets invaded by the Western countries from one century into other and these invasions are always justified by saying that Russia had been going to attack that's why we attacked her - without any evidence for Russia's hostile intentions.

Russia has never hurt Italy but Italians reached Volga.

    Now you complain...

  • Many died on the retreat back home,-40 without food, water, boots, adequate clothing, transport, some without weapons. It's called "La Ritirata di Russia".

  • Wait, wait, wait, Italians were in the USSR in summer 1943,

What retreat are you talking about? I mean, what -40?

But the retreat from Stalingrad was hard, I know. They shouldn't have gone there.

  • I think I said things clearly,no?

They had to walk 1200km in -40*,with fighting their way out, totally abandoned, weighing less than 40kg,without boots or proper clothing ,weapons, food, transport etc.

  • Walk 1200 from where to where?

From Stalingrad to the Western border of the Soviet Union?

    What are you talking about?

And they didn't "Retreat from Russia", as you've written it in Italian, they were retreating from Stalingrad after they had been defeated by the Soviets.

They were simply running away from the Red Army and not really "abandoned" - there were German and other units together with them.

Defeated armies always lack everything, it's true.

Don't fight if you can't win

  • Retreating from The Don,before their last battle at Nikolajewka

No German help,as the Italians had to stay so the Germans could retreat first. Alpini undefeated.

  • Alpinis were annihilated by Soviets on January 28th. Of 17,640 only 1,607 survived as POWs.They even burnt their flag not to let it fall into the hands of the Soviets. Do you call this "undefeated"?! I'd say it was a complete defeat.

    Cuneense simply ceased to exist.

And Italians started retreating on the 3rd day, they didn't "stay" to let others retreat.

They were walking westwards together with Germans and Hugarians.

  • Abandoned meaning there were no more orders, supplies, a rescue, reinforcements etc.

    The Alpini,what was left,made it out,douche bag!

  • Of course, defeated armies never receive order - they run, just like Italians did.

Of the Alpini about 10% made it out, others died or were captured.

If that is called "undefeated" then what is defeated?!

In any defeat there is someone who survives. But it's still a defet, isn' it, dull boy?

  • They still made it out under those conditions, remarkable will, determination, courage and bravery, acknowledged by Stalin.

    Stalin=mass murder=communism

  • Stalin hadn't kill a single Italian before the Italians started conquering the USSR together with Hitler. Moreover, he has never killed a single Italian civilian, unlike Italians or Americans who bombed Italy.

The courage of the Soviet soldiers wasn't less great or was even greater because it's always harder to attack than to defend, moreover they suffered under horrible conditions created by the Stalin's repressive system.

And Bolsheviks were paid by Germany when they conquered Russia.

  • This is true,I agree with you. I never said Russia was wrong to defend it self,or Italy was right in attacking Russia.

  • Do you know what you're talking about? You asking things like

    what -40?... didn't retreat ... not abandoned... 1200km where?

You talk but you're not very intelligent or informed.

  • I'm saying they made 200 km till January 28th when they were annihilated.

1200 km would mean they had left the USSR while they were in the middle of it through 1943.

Who did abandon those Italians, may I ask?

Who was supposed to accompany them?

  • Read some history and you will find the Italians had orders to resist so the Germans could retreat first, who didn't help their ally. Even though fuel was a problem at this time, the Germans still had transport, same happened in Africa.

  • I read history and now that there were almost no Germans where the 8th Italian Army was, maybe just a few units. And the frontline was Italian so it was up to Italians to defend it. They had been doin it for 3 days and then started running. They should have surrendered from the start.

BTW,there were a few German tanks which led the retreat and helped a bit. But everything was already useless - the Soviets won the battle due to correct strategical calculations.

  • STFU,Germans gave Italians no help during the retreat.FACT

Italians were there for 3 years, not 3 days, ass hole. The front was approx.50kms,with troops enough for 30kms only. These courageous Italians fought tanks with there bare hands, dumb ass.

  • You're so dumb... WHAT 3 YEARS?! Italians fought for 3 days after the Soviet offensive had started before they began to run away.

Moreover, Italians couldn't have stayed there for 3 years because they marched into the USSR in summer 1941 and that retreat was in December 1942, thus - 1,5 year, not 3, but twice less.

The retreat was due to a number of strategic mistakes plus don't fight with a stronger country, asses.

Italians fought with bare hands. For 3 days. And then started running.

  • My Great Uncle was there for 3 years, according to him. I misunderstood you,the offensive you're talking about was for 3 days?Don't put down the Italian soldier, who was in no position to win,STUPID ASS HOLE. Your country is a "has been",which can't keep up with the west.HAHAHA.. you're BROKE!

  • Italians kept their positions during the first 3 days of offenive then started running. They were taken out of the USSR in 1943 except just a few rear units.

What is "the West"? Island that became bankrupt recently or Greece which can't comply with the EU's standards? Or Austria with its 62% budget deficit?

Or the US with its 13 TRILLION debt?

Russia's GNP is # 7 WORLDWIDE. She doesn't have any foreign debt.

Russia credits the USA with 200 Mio USD. Russia is # 3 grain producer worldwide.

  • STFU dryish, your navy is rotting in the harbor. You have nothing that comes close to the F-22 Raptor, can't keep up with technology of the west. Your country is a shadow of its former self, build a bridge and get over it...1989 ring a bell?

You still make 1950's FIATS for cars, get it now

  • The Russian navy successfully destroyed the Georgian navy and a Russian squadron recently went to Venezuela.

Anyway, the Russian fleet can destroy this planet a few times and in the last years is very rarely in harbors, rather in the open sea.

Russians build BMWs,Mercedes.VW and other Western cars. The last Lada was built in the 90s where your head still seems to be living.

What is "the technology of the West"? Italians didn't work at F-22 creation.

And F-22 can easily be downed by a S-400

  • BULL SHIT,these cars are foreign companies,Italians gave you the "Lada",or you'll still be riding horses. Italians are part of the Eurofighter Typhoon, stooge. Georgian navy, give me a break! didn't know they had one,LMFAO. WOW went to Venezuela, hihi

  • These cars will be produced and assembled by Russians, although their HQ aren't in Russia.

Italians didn't give anything, they sold their old Fiat plants to the USSR almost half a century ago. So what?

Yes, Georgians had a navy but what do you what the Russian navy to do so that you think it's a serious force? To shell the Italian coast or something? And, yes, I haven't heard of any Italian squadrons making international reaching distant shores.

    Eurofighter is an outdated shit.

  • correction,Italians GAVE you the Fiat,as compensation for ww2. You got your military technology from nazi scientists, the only decent things you USED to make. If it wasn't for Europe, you wouldn't even have the wheel.

  • "If if wasn't for Europe..."

Uh...Russia IS Europe. And made the Europe science and culture much richer.

Nazi military technology was used by the USA, the UK and France, too, but somehow nobody mentions it.

Even today's T-90 is a distant descendant of T-34 which was NOT a copy of anything.

Russians created the first strategic bomber, the mortar, the 1st heavy plane, the 1st heavy tank, the 1st swimming tank, the biggest jet and chopper - all that is genuine, not a copy.

  • Everything Russia's ever made is and was a Death Trap, especially the tanks.

  • I see no death traps in Russian space technologies. Rather in the American ones - remember Challenger and Columbia?

Russians built the first flying mass chopper, Sikorsky did it. A very good machine.

Russians have the best ice-breakers and built perfect military ships.

Kalashnikov is the best assault-rifle worldwide.

What don't you like in the Russian tanks? They're perfect!

Russian mortars are the best worldwide. And of 4-motor planes of WWI 250 were built and only 1 was lost.

    So?

  • SO?.... are you trying to impress me with your big gun?

    I'm not that way inclined,but I'm flattered.

Those erkoplans[sorry for spelling],look impressive though.

Accidents happen in man's quest to conquer space, doesn't the US make more flights than Russia though?

  • No, the US doesn't make more flights. There's a take off from Baykonoor almost daily. Semipalatinsk launched missiles as well.

Space echnologies don't look like a big gun.

And the difference between the Russian and US technologies are that the last astronauts Russians lost were in the 60s while the US keeps losing astronauts even in the 21st century. Shuttle is just shit, it's clear but no-one has got balls to admit it in America.

The same is with the jets.

  • Things are different now.

  • look what happened when the "wall" in Berlin went down, you could clearly see a huge difference in quality, and you never saw people trying to escape to the east.LOL

  • Why? During 300 years Germans had been escaping to Russia from Germany so that in the beginning of the 20th century Russian Germans were one of the biggest ethnic minorities in Russia. The same is with Poles - they went rather to Russia than to the West. Their descendents are Chaykovsky, Stravinsky, Sikorsky, Tsyolkovsky, Musorgsky etc.

The French immigration to Russia was enormous especially after the French Revolution.

The USSR changed it. But the USSR itself was an anti-Russian country.

  • Italians have had military restrictions since ww2,like Japan and Germany.

  • Of course, just as everyone who lost that war.

    Good for them.

  • Why are you not talking directly to me ?,sneakily posting comments here and not directly to me,cowardly you'd think.

Why are you so defensive,I'm not saying Russia doesn't have some good technologies.

  • Cowardly?

    Cowards hide.

And I'm willing to expose our dialogue to the public and welcome anyone to join and argue - even against me.

I don't find it's the manner a coward would act.

A coward would rather write letters privately because he's afraid the public won't support him.

    Is that what you suggest?

  • And yes, you've stated Russia doesn't have good technologies. You stated it indirectly, but you did.

And the American F-22 of which you've talked so proudly calling it a "Western" plane is partly a copy of the Russian Yak-141 which was practically stolen by the US after the USSR had disappeared.

    Just google on it.

F-35 is partly a made with Russian technologies.

  • And I love to live in a "shadow" without budget deficit, foreign debts, with the 7th GNP worldwide and # 3 gold and currency reserves in the world, as well as 1/5 of the planet's land under its control.

The whole Europe depends on Russia's gas and your Berlusconi is blowing the pipe utmost intensively to get it to Italy.

And recently Russia has signed an agreement with Belorussia and Kazakhstan about the abolishment of customs duties. That will bring Russia additional 400 billion yearly

  • I have many Russian friends, none would ever go back to live there. I'm from Australia not Italy,we have lots of land, oil, gas, uranium ,etc etc. Your country is 90% ice, mine 90% beach.I'm going for a swim today,3 minutes away from home,SUCKER!

Only western country in G20 to avoid recession.

  • And I'm American, not Russian. And I know hell of a lot of non-Russians living in Moscow, happy and without any intention to leave.

I hate countries with hot climate.I love snow. In Russia you can have 30 C in summer, you have palm beaches at the Black Sea.But you have a normal winter when it's time for it.

You can't have a white Christmas in Austrlia. It's sad.

No matter how many raw materials you have in Australia,Russia has more.

BTW,after the hard 90s, many Russians are coming back.

  • Are you American are you?bagging your own country like that,I agree with you 13trillion debt YOU'RE FUCKED

  • That's why I'm out of there.

As I love to say it - I just went back to where I come from, Europe.

13 trillion debt is not everything.

We took a credit from Russia. It's 200 Mio USD big, not really huge, but Russia crediting America is a bit revolutionary, isn't it?

  • What are you saying?are you schizophrenic?I say something about Russia, and your American.I say something about America and you're Russian.

  • I have a double citizenship. I decided to take the Russian, too. Thus, I can refer to myself both as Russian or American.

But I was born in America, in NYC, Manhatten, at Lennox Hill Hospital.

  • Does that make you a capitalist, commie. WW3 breaks out and your "two" countries are at war with each other, where does your loyalties lie first?

  • I'm a capitalist because I'm for private property, the existence of money, the free market, the trade instead of barter.

Moreover, I don't support communists and am against them.

In the WW3 I will support those who defend and not those who attack.

But I highly doubt the WW3 would be fought the same way as the WW2 was.

  • Western and central Europe is Europe, not Russia who's had an "iron curtain"up for 50 years, over there in Eurasia.

  • You can keep your -40 christmas'.In the Southern hemisphere it's holiday season, summer, christmas, new years and party time, just the way we like it,taking nothing away from white christmas'.We love it this way so don't be sad.

  • No, it was -8 Christmas in Moscow this time. That's the usual temperature for this part of Russia.

And you can keep your + 40 Christmas there, thank you very much.

You love it the way it is because you simply have no choice.

Then you love it - what else could you do?

In Russia the climate has more than one form. It encompasses everything - from +40 to =40 and that's what I like - the diversity.

  • You have no choice either.BTW christmas was 27* here, much better than -8*. I like moderate weather, beautiful one day, perfect the next.

  • Oh yes, I have a choice. If I want the winter to last the whole year, I can go to Kamchatka, if I want the summer the whole year I can go to Sochi, Adler or even Abkhazia which is de facto a part of the Russian Federation.

If I want to seethe seasons change I can stay in Moscow.

    I don't have this choice.

  • Only Western countries in G20?!

    Oh, real?

So, you want Japan to quit?

And who of the "West" should stay?

    Island that is bankrupt?

Or Austria with its budget deficit of 62%?

Or maybe Japan with its budget deficit over 100%?

Maybe the USA with its 13 trillion debt?

Russia has the 7th biggest GNP, it has no debts, it credits the USA.

China is ls also a part of G20. Make it quit and G20 will die.

  • Stop talking jibberish, leave this country out, that country, none of this concerns me.I don't care about other countries debt.

  • That's you who's talking Gibberish, I'm saying serious things and provide accurate data which you apparently lack pretty much.

The truth comes out went you compare things.

If you talk of various countries, especially when you're trying openly to say one is better and another is worse, comparison is a necessary thing.

  • You're doing all the comparing, this is an Italian ww2 site, not an Alaskan site or where ever you're from.We were debating ww2 before you changed it.

  • This site is youtube and it's open for everyone.

    What are you talking about?

Anyway, I initially spoke only on WW2. But you started just bashing Russia in a primitive russophobe way and that's exactly the reason why the discussion has changed its topic.

  • ... should they have been there?... NO

  • But they were there, nevertheless.

    Bad for them.

Russians made it sure that an Italian soldiers would never put his feet on the Russian soil in the future.

    Russians did a good job.

  • These men did not have a choice. They got the call from their country and went to fight [right or wrong].,that's what soldiers do! No different to U.S invasions of Vietnam & Iraq. Many Italians did not want this war, but were forced to go.

Much braver men than you'll ever be!

Go fuck a sheep kiwi....BAA BAA BAA

  • takes a brave man to stand beside a big bully doesn't it

  • BAAA BAAA BAAA

I think you need a new pair of Wellingtons and velcro gloves

    ah ha ha haaa

build a bridge and get over it!

  • Ramadl59

Their is not a single man in Iraq that didn't volunteer to be in the military

The only stimulatory between the US and Italian army here is that both of us fought against Russian made weapons.

  • CandelarioGalvan

I didn't know Russian weapons were so stimulating.hahaha

  • Tradiore...... no such a word

The word you are fumbling with is....'traditore' [like you]

'The Germans were traditore by leaving the Italians to fight on their own'.... end quote.

  • Italians badly armed and equipped, stayed to cover the Germans retreat.... who were much better armed...... same in North Africa

  • tradiore

  • R.I.P

  • ....poveri i nostri soldati....

  • Theme from Schindler's List di John Williams

Viva l'Italia

  • video davvero toccante, complimenti vivissimi.. "Se questo è un uomo", "Il sergente nella neve", etc.. sono tutta una serie di letture che bisognerebbe far fare ai ragazzi al liceo. Ancora bravo e W L'Italia.

  • This doesn't want to be a video against the Russian people for which I feed great feeling of respect and solidarity for the so many sopprusis and sufferings that have suffered in last century, but against the stupidity of the wanted wars often only from few for dirty games of affairs. Thanks for your contribution.

  • Hello, I'm Russian, 45, from Moscow. And I not excuse for my origin as it was made by someone earlier. Nothing comes from nothing. Not the Soviet people invaded the Italia with weapons at their arms, but the Italians together with German Vermacht. Not the RUSSIANS started this war. We still do not know how many of us were killed in it. However, as a human I'd like thank you for such a video. Gennady

Grazie

This is a very important video, not to many people around the world knows about the italian tragedy in Russia. Thanks.

  • Perfect video! Sorry, but I'm Russisn. Anyway, forgive us as we forgive Italians. Now WE are a good friends and this is a main thing. This war was a stpid and bloody mistake. Just a fight of idealogies. But when idealogies trying to fight, innocent people dies...
