I was raised a Catholic and then I tried Christianity. My questions weren't answered, so I read every holy book I could get my hands on. I read up on science and religion and I got to a point where I realized that religion is based on ignorance.
Yeah still don't get why the church doesn't approve condoms if someone could explain please do. Interesting point of tradition kinda made me thought how mesoamericans did human sacrifice but when the whites came by they abolished it BUT if america wasn't discovered there would prob still be human sacrifice (altho the methods whites used to get rid of it isnt exactly the best way) (not trying to choose a side just a remark of power of tradition)
I understand evolution, but I fell he could have explained it better in the Mt. Improbable scene. I feel that many people today do not understand what they reject. They imagine a ladder model rather than a tree model. I wouldn't believe a ladder model right away either. The point is people like Ray Comfort teach a false version of evolution which is easier to refute and make fun of.

Another CRAZY thing I have noticed is that even Catholicism has more superstitious beliefs than the BIBLE. Such as: Purgatory, Mary's Physical Ascension to Heaven, Masturbation is Sinful, etc.
In my country, the Philippines which is mostly Catholic, more than 90% of men get circumcised mainly not bec.of religion but bec. of tradition. We may have inherited it from the Muslims bec. the Spaniards who colonized us were uncircumcised.

The reason you have science is because of the very ideas of religion. Sciences emerged as a result of the spread of Islam in the 7-14 centuries. Do you not see this, The first house of wisdom dedicated to the Sciences was in Bagdad (baitul ghikma and Islam is not opposed to but the catalyst for science. If you are going to make wild claims i expect you to provide explanations for it not a cop out. saying "doing things that go beyond the physical world" is the same thing as saying he can`t do anything. Because as you know, Everything that happens is strictly defined by its physical processes. If you can`t explain it or demonstrate it, then its more or less synonymous with Non existing in the first place.

Good for you! I've had spiritual experiences before too and they do help you grow a lot. Usually i go for a long hike where i'm sure not to see anyone for 4-5 days to do some introspection. Nothing to do with god though, just the amazing capacities of the human brain.
