  • MMMM...TV CUBE

  • CAPTIONS...IN...SPAAAAAACE!

  • back in the day.

  • I remember this!

  • In Poland public TV, we have capitions for hearing impaired in teletext. It's made that most of page is transparent, but not some bottom lines.

  • This intro was used from 1982 to around 1986.

  • @vzeu019j I remember they used one with a desert landscape after this. (The CC logo landed in the sand, or something like that.)

  • This became as common as the "flash PSA" Ernie Anderson delivered at the end of most shows on the network: "Don't Drink and Drive- a public service message from ABC".

  • This was before tv manufacturers begin installing close caption option in the television sets.

  • on WLS-TV

  • Yeah, and for some reason, i actually remember this intro(Although i was born in 1993 and this intro was discarded way before then).

  • I Like that intro, not to mention the music as well!

  • ABC supported closed captioning from the beginning. I have some tapes from early 1980 that have a test running on the caption channels, before they started using them.

  • Oooh...can you post that?

  • I'd have to get a camera and shoot it off the TV- I don't have any way of having captions display on video files.

  • @eyeh8cbs I remember that when I was little ABC was the only network supporting it.

  • huh? i can't hear you, i'm blind...
