This is a great stand alone sci-fi film. Final Fantasy in the title confuses things a bit. Also interesting to note that this is similar technology to the upcoming Adventures of Tintin film presented by Steven Spielberg & Peter Jackson - has it taken that long for this technology to come back around?

It enrages me the fact that Hollywood disregarded it because it was Japanese and because they felt threatened by the possibility of having actors replaced by thier CGI counterparts; it got even worse after witnessing the praise that Avatar received for being the shittiest rip-off ever possible of this film.

@PeterPalfrei This movie would of been a lot better had it actually fit in the Final Fantasy universe. But it was way ahead of it's time, on a technical standpoint. It's a real shame this movie's failure is why Square left Hollywood.

Spirits Within and Advent Children have nothing to do with each other, as Advent Children is a continuation to the Final Fantasy VII game and Spirits Within a stand-alone piece set on Earth. Pretty much all they share is the "Final Fantasy" name and amazing CGI work.
