  • I am disabled and my master socket is in the upstairs of my house where I cannot reach and I use a homehub 2 with a connected Broadband Talk phone, so if I move my hub upstairs, I cannot use the phone and the signal may be further weakened by distance. Any suggestions welcomed..

  • @Dizzybloke1 We'd be happy to talk to you about this, to see what we can do - I've sent you a PM

  • @VirroXGfx I have sent you a PM

  • @o0Te0zJTAG0o I have sent you a PM

  • @BTCare I'm also getting the same problem as o0Te0zJTAG0o. Trying to Game and Stream at the same time is near-impossible. Getting even lower speeds than him on BT Total Broadband Option 3.

  • @druud1 I have sent you a message

  • i hate the fact my isp is BT.

crappy white homehub keeps dcing me, and lately the speed has been shamefully slow

  • @Sunny6602 let us know how it goes with the accelerator, we can't help with Orange Broadband but if your have any questions about the video we're here to help :)

  • my speeds are terrible i am in a library because orange provide me with 0.2-0.9 mbps it really annoys me but hopefully this can sort me out

  • A couple of weeks a go my connection was really good for gaming and my laptop but then a week later it plummeted back down and wasnt very good, the router had been unplugged because of painting, it was plugged in and then it was bad connection.

    Any info.

  • how much are these? and can they stop the hub from disconnecting and breaking every two minutes?

  • How do i know which one is my master socket? I'm seriously confused.

  • @huze5 If you have the right type of socket to fit an accelerator you will see a grove across the face of the socket about half way up, the lower half will have two screws which when removed alow the bottom half of the faceplate to come away from the rest of the socket, if your socket doesn't look like this then you won't be able to fit an Accelerator.

  • What is the average download/upload speed BT gives, i done a speed check the other day and my download speed is 0.45 my upload speed is 0.35 could this affect online multiplayer games on the 360 because. I suffer from very bad connection in-game iv'e even tried changing my channels from 1/11 and nothing seems to be working and the thing i don't get is when i first activated my BT home Hub from previously being with TalkTalk my connection was superb but not any more. Any info will be appreciated

  • @ST3VE1989

    Hi

The speed that you receive is all down to your individual line and each line can have different speeds available on it. The speed that you have should be ok for online gaming so it should not be affecting your experience but there can be other factors which can influence this.

I have sent you a PM with some more information.

    Cheers

  • @BTCare I know this is 11 months on but do you seriously think 0.45 download and 0.35 upload is OK for online gaming / computer browsing?

  • I have a Home Hub connected to the master phone socket in my home. I also have extension wiring connected from this point. Would I benefit from using an accelerator? It is not clear to me whether the plate is designed to improve speed when the Hub is connected to extension wiring, or when it is connected to the master. Currently, our master socket is a double, as we have two phone lines. Would it be possible to get this changed to two sockets, thereby allowing the acelerator to be fitted?

  • @tomcage9 The Iplate is designed to remove noise on a master socket, noise that can be created by the presence of extension wiring. It sounds like your socket is not compatible - IPlate will only fit on an NTE5 type socket. BT could do conversion work to give you two separate sockets but that will cost you, I assume that you want this done because there is noise on your line and that is impacting broadband speed, check out our video on using the speedtester website and PM me back your results

  • I have my main BT socket in one room and my phone/BT home hub plugged into another BT socket in another room. If I fit an accelerator to the main socket, will this work automatically or do I have to connect my pc to this as well? I don't want to fit this to the main socket if it means I have to move my pc to this room as the pc will not fit into the room with the main socket. Please can you let me know what I should do as soon as possible. Thanks.

  • @Michelle11349 To get the absolute best speed possible you would need to plug your hub into the master socket, however the Accelerator works by eliminating interference from extension wiring that may have been affecting broadband speed. So by fitting the Accelerator in your master socket you would be able to eliminate this type of interference and get a better speed where you have plugged your hub in. Does this make sense? Let me know if you would like anymore info. Thanks.

  • i just got one.Tell you what, its biggest shit ever, its made to slow down your internet!!! before installed it on my bt main socket i tested my speed, its shoes down6272, uploade378, after installing bt accelerator i got result down 4536 uploade 377. Thats shows that bt trying to slow down your internet download speed that people can less download files on their computer. But what about people playing online games??? i cant play anymorer!!! im out of BT, its sucks!!! anyone know better internet?

  • @briedis81 That sounds strange, the accelerator works by filtering noise form your line. It might be worth re testing your speed to check this. If you have stil have the problem let me know and we will investigae further to see if there is a problem.

  • @briedis81 briedis81 is a complete lier,

i bet he hasn't even got an accelerator he's just wanting attention.

  • @MOHAAVIDEO We are always happy to help make sure the accelerator is doing what it should. We suggest that the accelerator is left in place and you check your broadband speed again in a few days. It can take a few days for BT's network to detect the reduced interference on your line. Even if you haven't noticed a speed increase we recommend you leave the accelerator fitted, as it may help prevent future interference affecting your broadband speed.

  • @BTCare i wasn't complaining about the accelerator' it works like a dream.

best thing i ever bought, im reffering to briedis81's complaining about it.

after i installed it i went from 3.5 mbps to 4.7. now all i have to do is get rid of talk talk internet provider, people who complain about bt try talk talk for 18 months

and you nightmares will become real. spare yourself the pain and dont sign up to talk talk. you will regret it.

  • It works by removing any noise that is on your line from your extensions, it filters this off and makes sure you get the best speed. What you can do is fit the accelerator into your master socket and this will help the speed of your broadband, no matter where the hub is plugged in. Have a look at our video 'BTCare - Check if internal wiring is affecting your broadband speed '

  • So does it only accelerate the device coming out of the master socket? I have no devices connected to the master socket, only to sockets which have been extended from the main socket.

  • How much is the accelerator

  • @samcross09 It is free for BT broadband customers so you only pay the £1.20 postage. I'll PM you the link.

  • Ironic that my internet speed is to slow to even load this video..

  • The Accelerator is realy easy to fit, if you are having problems with your speed you could read about fitting and ordering one on the BT website. If you would like us to take a look at your line to check you are getting the best speeds possible send BTCare a message on Twitter.

  • I'd read about this in my "Spectator" magazine, nice one guys, this is the helpful side of youtube, thanks for putting it on.

  • Really glad you like it. We will be adding more videos so make sure you visit us again!

  • Hey was wondering when your going to do a video on how people will next to no skills can find out how to use your web site designer at BT OFFICE?

  • Hi, If you are having problems send a message to @BTCare on Twitter and we will help you out.
