  • annnddd i give up..

  • WTF talk in your videos

  • Would be great, as someone else said, if you would put the rope length in the description.

Also, any special items like the marble in a monkeyball in the description as well.

Lastly, If you leave the first bent 'long' and put it through a zipper can you use it as a modified paraball zipper pull? No cord here or I would try it myself.

  • Chance that you were a boy scout: 100% :D

  • it really works thx.

  • Did this with a Basketball, 3 colors its amazing. Love your videos man "Paracording" is a stress reliever for me.

  • hey JD, are you making a second book with more paracord ties in it?

  • try giving instructions cos it's kinda hard to see what your doing

  • all that is is a monkey fist gone gay

  • i agree with lugi.

  • how much rope did u use?

  • @kerrboy100 - About 3 feet (cut to length)

  • how many feet do they use?

  • can u use landyard string plz reply

  • less than 2 feet is NOT enough... maybe 4-6 feet

  • @vassildador01 EDIT: it will USE less than 2 feet, but thats after its tightened, 3-4 feet is good to have room to work and get it woven before tightening.

  • @tyingitalltogether can you put at the start of every video how much paracord you used and how much did you use to make paracord balls

  • HOW MUCH PARACORD DID YOU USE?????

  • @thomasjamesr less then 2 feet of cord is enough

  • i wish you would put the measurments of the paracord

  • @ArmyOfLuigi 3 ft.

  • hw long was the string? i got half way thru this before realizing my string was too short :P

  • I'd seen them before but this video taught me how to make them. great video, I have made 4 or five tonight and on the last on that i made i looked around the house until I found some tiny yet powerful magnets and stuck them inside :D now i can throw it and stick it to things metal!

  • @orangechicken210 thts cool! i think i might try tht...magnetic balls :p

  • F**K this, I prefer getting laid. Nice balls though.

  • Hey JD... been a while since i commented ... what kinda scissors you using buddy

and btw the butane torch makes a big difference when snipping and singeing

Thanks again for the hard work on these videos

  • @synergyjohnwv - I use Conair 7" Barber Shears

  • Juggle for us? Lol

  • where can i get these ropes?

  • It seems to be a monkeys fist with more sides. Unless I am wrong.

  • make it more clear

  • how much paracord did you use

  • @ObsidianBestat OK, After viewing the video again, I saw the diff.

In a standard monkey's fist knot you kinda have 6 sides, like a cube (but round, lol). In this knot the sides are arranged more like a volleyball, with more sides.

  • Like the way the knot was used as a core for the Turk's Head. This was the first Turk's Head I learned. Albeit I learned to tie differently that what you show. I even thought that it was a variation of the Monkey's Fist at first.

  • @ObsidianBestat I'm not sure what a turk's head is, but that sure looks like a monkey's fist to me....

It seems to me that JD simply weaves the cord instead of wrapping it around itself like I'm used to when I make monkey fists. What am I missing?

  • @alonwork2 It is mostly a ornamental knot, but I has lots of uses that are somewhat comparable to a monkey's fist. Google Turk's Head to find a ton of ways to make them. Some are tied in the hand, others use jigs to tie them. It can get crazy...

  • what type of string and where do u get it from

  • fajniutkie!

  • how much cord was used?

  • Its just an itty-bitty modified Monkey Fist knot.

Presented much better than most, by the way.

  • @Wikipunani Its actually a modified turks head, but that's cool.

  • this is awful...awfully good!

  • that is bull SHIT

  • I failed at shapeing the ball !

  • what is this for? They look wonderful!

  • what is something like this used for??

  • how much cord goes into thissss?

  • how much cord goes into thissss?

  • @ TyingItAllTogether Cordage is a basic tool that not unlike the mallet or cutting edge has helped build the world around us :D

Just got ahold of some 550. I'll be slowly working my way through your videos. Part of me wants to see how many layers and how big I can make of of these with 100' :P

  • dude...you got alot of balls to post this video..see what i did thar? :D lame jokes aside....good job

  • @salvador8702 - That's awesome.

  • @salvador8702 that was clever :p

  • No a monkey's fist is tied in a different way then this. Great video TIAT :)

  • Wouldn't a tripled ball be the same as a Monkey's Fist?

  • in most tutorial vids you have to pause every two minutes to keep up with them which makes the video buffer alot but with yours not at all you keep it slow which is great thanks alot!!! :D

  • perfect for hitting people with >:D

  • try it with rope and show us what u get

  • That's too cool!

Could you just do a once through if you didn't QUITE have enough cord for two?

I did a two color Solomon bar, thanks to your video I knocked it out in no time, and I wanna add a little something to the center ends instead of just an overhand or double overhand.

  • Włóż do środka metalową kulkę i idź zapolować na nołplisy.

  • @kajus44 - Jakie nołplisy?!

  • @TyingItAllTogether No takie co uciekają i wołają "noł plis, noł plis" :) Toż to klasyka!

  • @kajus44

    Nie uznaję słowa "noplisy" albo

  • great video ! (not as easy to find on here as I would have thought tho. I had searched under 'Turks Head' and not paracord....)

  • i really want to make one but i cant get it lol i get lost

  • awesome

  • haha it looks like a penis

  • if you go any damn faster mabye people might learn how to do this god damn slow down

  • @knivesandgunsboy63

Hit the pause button until you catch up to where he is at. He goes slower and is clearer than anyone I've seen. Great vids

  • at first, i thought this was a monkey fist, like others, but the pattern reminds me more of a Diamond knot with all the ends tucked in. Not sure if it's exactly the same or not, will have to actually sit down and compare the two lol.

    great looking knot though

  • heh, this is sooo different from a monkey fist. it's much much harder to do.

  • All your videos are amazing. I think we all have a question, though, of how much paracord is use for the creation.

  • @playdrums

    ...

Depends on how large you want your paracord balls to be. For the most part 2 to 3 feet of cord will do for small, 3 to 4 feet for medium, and so on... Remembering, you need extra cord length to tighten the piece.

    ...

    Hope that helps,

    JD ~ TIAT

  • an idea i've been thinking of:

maybe a bit similar to this bur can you make monkey's fist, tighten it and weld the 2 ends of the rope together?

  • is this basically a monkeys fist but without the added cord on the end?

  • @survivaldude100

    ...

Fundamentally, it's a turk's head mat, rolled into a ball.

    ...

    JD ~ TIAT

  • @TyingItAllTogether umm a rolled up turk's head mat is a monkey's fist...

  • @hanskung10990014901

    ...

You're glancing... Take a closer look, they're different.

    ...

That said, have a ball, either way. (smile)

    ...

    JD ~ TIAT

  • Cool, but technetly a tiny monkeys fist without a ball in the middle or a tail for a keychain.

  • @randomFAIL7777 It is definitely NOT a monkeys fist. It is a Turk's Head. They are completely different.

  • this is awesome :D

    thanks!

  • You make excellent videos!! Thanks. At first I didn't think they would be useful since there aren't any verbal instructions, but you do such a great job of pausing at the right times, and showing every step so clearly. Nice work!

  • TIAT where do you buy your cord?

  • @ JD aka TIAT, thank you so much for your time. I have been tying knots from your channel quite some time and I really appreciate your clarity of instruction and eye for beautiful knots. Let us know when your book comes out!

  • @ WhiteDragonTile - I just finished (or just about finished ) making the first of three turks head balls that I intend to use as juggling balls. They are actually a good weight for juggling just so long as you use much thicker gage rope. I'm tring to do mine with 4 passes, but as its my first I'm having a hard time tightening it down. The knot also makes a nice set of poi if you leave enough rope at the end to use as a tether.

  • Umm, can I make it with one pass? Cause 2 passes are a bit too big (or I should probably remove the inner strands)

  • Removing the core strand of the paracord will help make the ball smaller. Passing only once, isn't all that practical - results in a Double Coin Knot, not a Turk's Head Ball.

    JD ~ TIAT

  • Ok thanks a lot, I got the idea. Awesome work.

  • Thanks, great video and easy to follow.

@WhiteDragonTile: You see that they are really tiny even with 3 rounds.

  • GREAT work. Always liked the monkey fist, but this is in a class of its own !

  • plz show us friendship bracelets with more B's and 3L's!

  • You always pick the best music for your videos.

    Beautiful work.

  • how heavy are these? would they be good for juggling?

  • hi TIAT,

    As usual.. great video

  • Hey JD great videos but maybe you could take into consideration to put the aprox. length needed for the tie in the info bar.

It seems like I'm not the only one that wonders what length to use. In any case keep up the great work and thanks.

  • how long of rope do you need to do that?

  • About 18 inches...

    JD ~ TIAT

  • Brilliant. Another great upload JD.

  • EXCELLENT!!! My Jr. is finally BORN..lol. he's 5 days old.. I have to catch up on ur' videos I've missed, Your work is Remarkable.. Thank You!! brightest blessings~

  • Wow...Congratulations!!!

    JD ~ TIAT

  • AWESOME. Thanks a lot TIAT.

  • OMG...more obsessive compulsiveness for me to indulge in.
