Both instances illustrate not only a lack of respect from one "party" to another, but the lack of respect our Government has for us.

The reason they hide from each other is because they're afraid the other "side" will inform us of what is going on behind those doors to gain an upper hand in the next election cycle.

There are other secret meetings being held on immigration. Right after the holiday season (or maybe before) you'll see a new amnesty bill for illegals. As a dem of 30 yrs I am upset that the transparency promised is not there, nor is the promise of working across party lines. There are about 40 bills the repubs have presented but dems won't even look at. I was a protester for the first time in my life, so I don't think I was out of touch with the rest of America....many dems were there as well. Don't know what poll you are citing (msnbc maybe lol) but 65% do not want gov. run healthcare! It is not about party, it is about our country!

The Treasury Department announced that the federal government ran a $1.42 TRILLION BUDGET DEFICIT in 2009, about 10% of GDP.

That's the largest nominal budget deficit in history, & the largest as a percentage of GDP since World War II.

From 1789 to 2008, the federal government borrowed about $5.8 trillion!

In just two years, 2009 & 2010, the government will borrow nearly ***$3 TRILLION MORE***!

With the recent scandals and lies being exposed about the left, (ACORN being one of the most recent) all but the most leftist radicals of the population no longer trust the Lib/Dems.
