Wow, I like blizzard and everything but didn't Guild Wars come up with the artisan style of crafting and salvaging items? I'm not hating on blizzard I'm just saying, that part looks a lot like GW.
I loved diablo 2 and played it so much throughout my childhood off and on, that being said Diablo 3 is going to be nothing new hell anyone else notice that they are still using the EXACT same sound effects even like 10 years later? Laziness blizzard!! There staying so true to the core with their games its like their afraid of changing things up its so annoying. Peace blizzard after this year of console games I wont even care when diablo 3 comes out 4 years from now.
@AJAM69 it's still in alpha phase, sound always comes last..... anyway blizzard never let me down with their games so i don't think this will be any different. they just make my type of game and they make them really good and chal;enging

Anyone else think that there are too many flashy particle effects in D3? Even the simplest hack and slash moves seem to be accompanied by sparks and fireworks -- and don't get me started on the ridiculous gore explosions that put Kill Bill to shame.
@Antifaschist99 I've never played Torchlight or Dragon Age, but from what I've seen of them from videos and such, they don't come close to Diablo 3. Diablo 3 will change the foundations of video games forever...
I have to say that this is the first video I have seen where the game actually looks like a Diablo game. Compared to all the old screenshots and everything, this is the best I have seen from the publisher yet. Better late than never I suppose... I can't deny that it looks better than before. If I didn't say anything I'd be lying, just thought the devs should know. The darker look is good.
The one small thing with this video and it has nothing to do with the artisan is that even when your hero is in town he stands in combat stance, it be nice to see in relax and stand upright. i know its not a problem but it be nice to see blizzard.
@DillonEmpey Y I think so too. let him be in combat stance outside town. and relaxing inside town. because that is where he is safe - I hope ^^ maybe not in D3 where they assault a town. Oo well they tried to assault harogath in d2, but you denied it as hero.
Can anyone tell me why diablo 3 will have a cap of 7 active skills per char? You will only be able to put points into 7 skills. This seems very limiting to me, for example, whirlwind was one of the last skills a barb could learn in d2 so if WW were one of the seven skills you wanted, up until you are a high enough lvl you would be limited to having 6 or less skills. plus who would want to limit their char to a lvl 1 or 2 spell/attack? Please reply if you have info or corrections.
@randoth357 I would suppose a majority of the time, you wont be using anymore than 3-4 skills, perhaps a few more if you count buffs or passive skills (which I hear doesn't count). Really anymore than 7 skills would be overwhelming anyway, I found my self only using 2-3 main skills/spells in D2 tops, anything less would be too easy, anything more would be unnecessary. The only class that I would assume be even remotely worried about this is the monk because of his skill combinations.
@SilkyMuggs What you say makes since, but beause i would want higher lvl skills my concern is still that unless i am able to respec frequently i will have to hold out on having many skills untill i've reached a high enough lvl to gain the skills i actually want. I also share your concern about the monks combos, also for the wizard because so many of her best skills are non-combatant, such as slow time, stone skin, and teleport. then again with the rune system that might not be a problem.

They should have the option for underwear. Like a sorcerous could find a pair called 'assmackers' - heavy leather thong of empowerment, or 'molewear' - damaged grandma undies of chastity.
OMG. This video has gotten me sooo excited for Diablo III. Can you believe they have added such innovative and creative ideas as an artisan craftsman. OMG! My nipples are totally hard right now. He can totally like create weapons and armor that have random and set properties. OMGMOMGOMG!!!!!!! Blizzard blows me away every time. I hope there's fishing!

I'm hoping Blizzard will consider changing the color and light palettes a bit ..on the Diablo wiki site,Ive seen a photoshopped darker/grittier/more malefic version of Diablo 3, comparing to the atmosphere of D I & II.It was BEAUTIFUL!.If Blizzard takes those idea into consideration, I will have absolutely no other complaints about the game, I play a game as if I was there through my characters perspective, and I want to feel like i am in a "Blizzard North" atmosphere, get my drift?
@SilkyMuggs I think I saw those pics aswell. However the problem with those, were 2 things. First thing was that you could not differentiate (is that a word?) the enemy from each other. Second thing was that those were the first areas of the game. If they start immediately with apocalypse setting, then the final stages won't be hellish enough.
Personally I don't mind it, because Blizz games are not about the graphics ingame, but about the overall feel,gameplay and most importantly (for me)style

@xxDarkDragon15xx Unfortunately, I'm starting to consider Torchlight 2 as well. However, they did said if people generally reacted distaste to this EXTREME version of D3, they will give us what we want and simply improve, and extend the game, NOT CHANGING IT ENTIRELY.
@xxDarkDragon15xx They did said that awhile back. If this doesn't work out, they will be willing to make an actual updated version of our Diablo world(not my exact words of course.)

Seriously, they won't stay and play the game like we had in D2(it's heart breakin that D3 just never will come to reality for us). As in real Diablo games, we intend to stay for 7 years, even more. D3 is not design for hardcore players to stay, D3 is for nerds to have some sport. No stats, no complicated gear stats, figures are too mobile, on and on....

To the people that're working on D3, you can improve D2 by not killing everything we like about this game. Yes, I want D2 to live on. What is wrong with that? I've never seen a game like D2, yet the game is old now. And finally you guys are making D3, why change something that's already so rare to find? What is wrong with hunting for gears with quality that've never been seen in any other games in our entire life? Seriously, the gears, that's something only exist in a diablo world.

I like the way the old diablo characters moved, yes this is BETTER, livelier. But the more mobile they get, the more I don't want to control something like this.
This is suppose to be a figure that I use my mouse to guide directions, to pick up stuff when I find something shiney on the ground, it dresses the gear that I stored for him/her. They should move not so lively. The attacks should be about the gear. Remember the doll colleciton feel to it? I thought that was the taste I got from D2
They should be keeping the variation of gear's detail. Everything should be stiffer, the attacks, the colors should be duller, definitely darker surroundings. But duller colors complexsion. What d3 should be advancing on? Maybe the injurys detail look? Crack of the bones, happens in the stiff frame of the character's shell. And the violent should not be silly massive spray of blood. Violent should be detailed on the wound as such.

@maszlagma nope it is the same town. Originally simply a collection of merchants looking to profit on adventurers and travelers drawn by legends of riches within the old cathedral, it slowly set down roots and became an established town.....
I'm glad its taking longer to release because its only making me more anxious of wanting to buy the game :) But still it better not be out after 2011.

Diablo III Is gonna be the best 2011 or 2012 game ever ( My thought ) Because people will never stop finding new things in the game and thats why diablo 2 is popular at this moment ... even if it was released in 2001... I still play this game and i think it is onw of the best game ever made
@minigreat1418 I think it will be one of the best games ever made for a very long time. I love D2 and still can't believe the re-playability it has. And the new team like they definitely understand great game design (even if anyone disagrees about style preferences) and they really care to put the work in to make it perfect.
Do the diablo games get boring/repetitive after you play it through once? Or is the game so big with a virety of choices to make it high in replay value?

I have a feeling Diablo 3 is going to a /fun/ "single player" game since you basically can craft your own gear for yourself, so you don't have to rely on buying gear online.
I said fun because Diablo 2 wasn't that single player friendly, it was boring and unsatisfying.
the nice thing about this is no one will ever need to buy items ever again because you can make uber weapons yourself. and if no one is buying weapons there will be no annoying fucking bots in the game annoying you every second.

I think if playing for example with barb you should have 80 to 90% chance of finding barb items!!!!!!!! not some other class items

not really not if you play ladder and there is no hacked items
then lets see how he gets to 60 and trades immortal kings set
believe me if you got a set that finding one item of it its like 2% you will need
INSANE things for someone to trade it with you
i can go battlenet and do the same thing but i play ladder
so its not the same and level 60 items are not that good
till level 80 in diablo items are not that good level 80+ then the real item trade / search begins

@SilkyMuggs I think I saw those pics aswell. However the problem with those, were 2 things. First thing was that you could not differentiate (is that a word?) the enemy from each other. Second thing was that those were the first areas of the game. If they start immediately with apocalypse setting, then the final stages won't be hellish enough.
Personally I don't mind it, because Blizz games are not about the graphics ingame, but about the overall feel,gameplay and most importantly (for me)style

I'm scared of what I've seen....hopefully it's not going to be another Sacred-crap...and these colors oh my god, it's not an mmorpg where everythig has to look like puppyduppydo or what. Dudes Diablo was creepy, dark and the game response "feeling" was direct - we dont want to fight with rainbows. Please create a Diablo 2 with >>some<< improved features - but not that sacred like mmorpg mix thing crap. I'm so upset :-(

@xxDarkDragon15xx Unfortunately, I'm starting to consider Torchlight 2 as well. However, they did said if people generally reacted distaste to this EXTREME version of D3, they will give us what we want and simply improve, and extend the game, NOT CHANGING IT ENTIRELY.

Seriously, they won't stay and play the game like we had in D2(it's heart breakin that D3 just never will come to reality for us). As in real Diablo games, we intend to stay for 7 years, even more. D3 is not design for hardcore players to stay, D3 is for nerds to have some sport. No stats, no complicated gear stats, figures are too mobile, on and on....

To the people that're working on D3, you can improve D2 by not killing everything we like about this game. Yes, I want D2 to live on. What is wrong with that? I've never seen a game like D2, yet the game is old now. And finally you guys are making D3, why change something that's already so rare to find? What is wrong with hunting for gears with quality that've never been seen in any other games in our entire life? Seriously, the gears, that's something only exist in a diablo world.

I like the way the old diablo characters moved, yes this is BETTER, livelier. But the more mobile they get, the more I don't want to control something like this.
This is suppose to be a figure that I use my mouse to guide directions, to pick up stuff when I find something shiney on the ground, it dresses the gear that I stored for him/her. They should move not so lively. The attacks should be about the gear. Remember the doll colleciton feel to it? I thought that was the taste I got from D2

They should be keeping the variation of gear's detail. Everything should be stiffer, the attacks, the colors should be duller, definitely darker surroundings. But duller colors complexsion. What d3 should be advancing on? Maybe the injurys detail look? Crack of the bones, happens in the stiff frame of the character's shell. And the violent should not be silly massive spray of blood. Violent should be detailed on the wound as such.

And the new team like they definitely understand great game design (even if anyone disagrees about style preferences) and they really care to put the work in to make it perfect.

I have a feeling Diablo 3 is going to a /fun/ "single player" game since you basically can craft your own gear for yourself, so you don't have to rely on buying gear online.
I said fun because Diablo 2 wasn't that single player friendly, it was boring and unsatisfying.

the nice thing about this is no one will ever need to buy items ever again because you can make uber weapons yourself. and if no one is buying weapons there will be no annoying fucking bots in the game annoying you every second.
