One of the biggest mistake the guest-workers were asking for is becoming a reality and soon they will get their wish. "LONG TERM PERMIT" and not a "GREEN CARD" or "U.S.citizenship".What's the difference with the present entry permits you're recieving from the CNMI government? Nothing,it's just because it's not one, two yers but five or ten years. I hope and pray that you all get what you're fighting for.

The answer is that they haven't been abused or discriminated. They're just using and manipulating the feds to feel sorry for them so they could get "improved status". They dont care about Saipan, they are just USING this place to become americans, and not filipinos.

It's good to voice your opinion, just don't be racist here. Not ALL filipinos are power hungry, and not ALL chamorros are lazy. And that can go both ways too. Never disrespect a person by their ethnicity. You can always find a decent and nice filipino and chamorro person here in Saipan. Just the same as you find a bad one too.

These guest workers are engineers, mechanics.nurses, accountantants,cooks,etc..All they want is fair treatment and justice for all! No to abuses and discrimination!

Guest workers have been treated fairly. The ill treatment they receive are mostly from their fellow countrymen. Filipinos, Bangladeshis and Chinese, have all suffered abuse from their own race. It is unfair to imply that all of the unfair to place blame on the indigenous people of the CNMI. Guest workers are treated fairly here and the Federalization Bill that the guest workers are waiting for is only a means for them to get into the United States.

Mr. Custodio are you being abused by your former employer? What more treatment, justice do you want? The CNMI does not have control on all the Federal programs here. They, the federal government has every control the federal programs here, such as the medicaid, food stamps and others and it's not by the CNMI government. Remember, you don't like the way our government runs, you can always try Saudi Arabia, Yemens, Jordan, Kuwait, Iraq, Iran, United Emirates and Australia.

Even if Federalization takes place, it doesn't mean that you will autimatically receive U.S. Citizenship. Open your eyes. Federalization might be a good thing. It may stop more people like you who are only using our islands for your own motives from coming here.
