When I first go Pokemon Platinum, the VERY FIRST shinx I saw was shiny. I caught it. I don't have the pokemon platinum game anymore... my little cousin lost my game when he used my DS... How? He put the game card of the chair, and it started spinning. Flung somewhere. Hasn't been seen since.

i found a shiny zubat in platinum before the first gym :D was a legitm 1 / 8192 , but my first shiny was a drowzee using the mathsuda methold in pokemon withe (i play since 2008) this zubat (crobat actuallY0 was my FIRST!

@17Ziek I'd suggest looking up on youtube for tips on pokeradar. assuming you've already done that, just keep trying. persistence is key.

when i was little i seen a shiny F***ing Zubat and i used 30+ pokeballs then my 2 great balls they both failed so i almost had a shiny zubat AND it was my first pokemon run ever i have only seen 1 shiny in my own game sence that was in 2005 this happend

i remember my first shiny ive never even bothered looking for one then i got a shiny nincada in emerald i thought wow my first one and only in the beginning of the game, many days later while on my way to the elite four bang shiny zubat now me OMG another then years later and many pokemon games after a shiny whishcash, buizel, eevee, and butterfree random encounters.......O>O i still cant believe it i even soft reset for one 723 times (shiny monferno) YEA KEEP THEM COMING i feel so lucky

my first shiny was a drowzee in gold version! i found it just outside the daycare. my only other random encounter shiny is electivire, i caught it as electabuzz in platinum. i have successfully chained smeargle, larvitar and roselia; and i recently hatched a shiny seviper via masuda method in black on the 97 egg

At once I started my Pearl, turned on the Poké Radar, then I saw the first grass patch, a non-shiny patch. I walked into that grass and I saw a Budew came across my screen. So I thought: crap it's just a Budew. But at the next moment, I saw & heared the sparkles. BAM!!! SHINY!!! !!! And I was like: 'What the.. Oh yeeessss it is SHINY!!!' So I caught this thing and I evolved into shiny Roselia. ^_^ FULLY LEGIT!!! But now I lost it, because my save file was lost.

I had the EXACT same thing happen to me, except mine was in Diamond about 2 years ago, I remeber sitting in my livingroom and I had gotten my chain to about 20-25, and I went into a regular shaking patch, looked up to see the TV because I was watching a movie, and I looked back down at the DS about a minute later and saw a yellow Shinx just a sittin there! XD

this reminds me at july 14th this summer i encountered a shiny ursaring randomly on pokemon soulsilver while training to beat trainer red and later on the day i encountered a shiny tangela the same way both 1 on 8192 chances and both in a day =) i was freaking out also because on the 22nd, 8 days later i encountered another random shiny, shiny grimer. gratz on shiny i know how u feel :P

i heard that each pokemon you chain will decrease the chance of finding 1 by about 200 until it becomes 1 out of 200 at chain 40 so this may not be a 1 out of 8192

@ghostly65 this shiny was found on a non-shiny patch making it a 1 in 8192 randomly found shiny. It has nothing to do with increasing the odds with the poke radar because it wasn't found on a shiny patch. If this shiny shinx was found at chain 13 on a shiny patch while using the poke radar then it would be a 1 in 630.

My second ever (catchable) shiny shined for me the other day while I was randomly playing soulsilver. It was a gyrados from the lake of rage, but at level 19 and had a modest nature. Not that I'm not grateful but I had to cry out Why a gyrados?
