I think you should've just told your kids "earthquake" and it would've been a lot easier on them and you guys instead of just telling them to get against a wall.... plus it'll make them stop asking why :P
i was in LA at the time of this was 12 stories up in a building...never knew what it felt like for a building to rock back and forth before...it was scary
we had to go to the hotel because they shut it down.. it was real. the first time, we thought the cart crashed and then we saw the "street" roll.... we rode it asap. its our fav. ride
I'm a bit confused by the description. "CGA" typically refers to California's Great America, which is in Santa Clara in northern California. I think the uploader means to say "DCA", which is Disney's California Adventure, the park adjacent to Disneyland in Anaheim.
I know something that's worse than being stuck on a ride during a quake, being stuck inside It's A Small World! One time my family and I were on that ride, which I HATE, the boats came to a halt, yet the music played on and on and on and on and on and on until I just wanted to jump into the water myself and drown! LOL
Again.... as in previous threads, the earthquake training of the 60's that was created by people that had never been in an earthquake and based on........ absolutely nothing that is still taught in schools, is beyond silly.
The facts are, studies have proven the majorities of survivors of building collapse, in earthquakes and other collapse situation, are the ones that lay next to the base of walls.
I don't mean to make anybody on here feel emotional but I have to say this and I do not feel sorry for doing so. All the parents had to say was "This is an emergency (or earthquake) and you are in danger unless you do as I say NOW!" (emphasizing the word now) and the children would then realize that the situation is not normal even if the kids do not know why and then the parents could get the kids to a situation which they can talk to the children about what happened later.
I can't blame her. I know it was that big and it would only take one second to say an earthquake is what happened. Just think if it was bigger what do you do in a place like that? I dunno.
no joke too i was there also but where the sunwheel thing was but i was on the ride so i didnt fill it as much but my mom was on the ground with my little sis and they felt it
No.....Get out of the building. Guess Your not from California thaye way you freaked out. No worries, I saw the much worse freaking out when I was in Boot Camp at MCRD San Diego. I'm from Sothern Cal, so I'm use to the tremors, but some of those boys from the mid west were running around like chickens with their heads cut off. BTW, I was at Disneyland the same day as the earthquake, and my family and I didn't even feel it. We were surprised when all the rides were closed.
this happen to me also for tower of terror line but no one seemed to care. I was like uh... did you feel the floor move? in may 2009. i thought i was just tipsy
tht earthquake was not strong AT ALL the parents were overreatcing. I was on the ride during the quake and we didnt feel a thing

Well geez. Your kids just wanted to know what the heck was going on. It doesn't take more than a few seconds to explain an earthquake to them.
