These guys are the REAL badminton players with all the skills and shots... Lin Dan still has a long way to go.

Comparing these games to the All England, the only improvement i can see is the speed and power. That comes mainly from the advancement in equipment, and training. Zhao was much better in terms of craftiness and deception because he mastered all the shots in the game.

Yang Yang and Zhao Jianhua, if both are still young and trained under current facilities and equipments, can rival the hot-tempered Lin Dan anytime. Yang Yang is super consistent with ultra precision down-the-line smashes while none can beat Zhao's craftiness. Both are irreplaceable talents that is still not surpassed til this day. Lin Dan, being a military officer, is trained like a cyborg and win tournaments with brute power and discipline, but clearly pales in comparison to these two.

badminton is progressing toward the play of power and speed, where the time between the shuttle exchanges are greatly shortened, thus without the luxury to perform highly refined techniques

until ZhaoJianHua, the era of power-smashing-dynamic play came into perspective and vastly adopted by later generations

and currently reaching it's optimum level in the hands of LinDan

Actually o.o, Lin Dan is not part of the Army, only the Army's Sports Team

Skillwise maybe, but lin dan and lee chong wei are more athletic and would probably outpower them imo, especially Lin Dan.

@aznicstarz Zhao definitely have the sheer talent like Taufik. But like Taufik, he lack discipline to train to the point of Lindan and Lee Chong Wei. Lindan and LCW both train the extra mile to dominate the badminton world, it did not come free.
