After saving Yuna from Seymour in Bevelle

Just before Yuna and Tidus kiss Tidus tells Yuna about Zanarkand about the sunset. "the street light and stars go out one by one, and when the sun rises the whole sea turns red, and the sky glows like its on fire" or words to the same effect so im sure this is why the sky looks like it does ;D hope this helped.
